Chapter 5: First Year

I'm not going to lie I was scared half to death on the first day. I found routes to take that made it's so I could avoid as many people as possible. I stayed away from fights and I went to lunch as that way I could avoid all of the people. I spent my entire first year of high school hiding and avoiding everyone. I didn't do anything to stand out, I kept my grades up. I listened to people gossip though. I heard about the trials and how the Jack was so strong and was going to be king next year if he kept up what he was doing. He was strong. I don't know what caught me off about that encounter with him but for some reason I couldn't get him and his face and piercing eyes won't of my head. I could forget the way he hands wrapped around my neck or the way I felt his body so close to mine and his smell. It was driving me crazy. None of the royals were in a relationship so I knew it's fair game, but I also know how the rolls go. He will go for some elite like he is and i will never have a chance since I promised I won't use my powers. The Jack wasn't known for giving mercy so I got lucky with my run in with him. He had sent multiple elite students to the hospital, because he felt that they didn't respect him and needed to be reminded there place. He was dangerous but it only seemed to make me want him more. I had a class with him. It was English and I sat in the back and always watched as every time a group project got brought up people whispered about hoping to not get partnered with him. It was the end of the year, a few month away from our week long summer break. I knew we had a project and for some reason I'm not really sure why. I went to the teacher before class and asked her to partner with Hunter, and walked back to my seat. Immediately realizing what I had done, I just asked to be partnered with the Jack. What was I thinking he could kill me before the project even started or while doing it if I didn't agree with him. I got what I asked for though. Our end of the year project, she called our name and sure enough she said it Megan and Hunter. The room was silent. All of the other realizing he's had been put with a low- tier powerless student. They all knew I was so screwed, and I realized very quickly I had made a mistake and should of stayed quiet. I didn't honestly think the teacher would agree to my request though. Now here I was getting partnered with one of the most powerful students in the school. What the hell had I just done. With that the teach said "please go sit with you partner and spend the rest of class to discuss what you will be doing for this project"
