Chapter 200: Heir Apparent

Solaire and Priscilla continue to glower over Gwyndolin silently, to be honest they had never thought through what they'd actually do once they caught him... Thoughts of various punishments play themselves over in Solaire's mind as he relives the moments leading up to this, the conspiracies, machinations and betrayals committed by his brother list too long to forgive. Even despite all this he is hesitant to deal the final blow, he is his brother after all... He looks at Priscilla to perhaps glean some insight from her, but her expression says everything, she looks pensive at what they're about to do.

It becomes readily apparent that Solaire is the one who has to make the choice as Priscilla glances at him with a thoughtful expression.

He shakes his head and exclaims, "Ah, enough! I will not kill you, but your crimes will not go unpunished..." he says as an idea pops into his head which is followed by a smug grin.

Solaire looks at Priscilla and meaningfully says, "Lets ask Sir Reima on what punishment would be appropriate... Perhaps we'll find ourselves in possession of some new boots.", her eyes light up in realisation and amusement as they both nod to one another.

They drag the unwilling Dark Sun over to Reima but stop at the sight before them... Reima appears to be taunting an armless and legless Laurentius as the man cries like an infant, blood pools on the floor below him but Reima continues to drip small amounts of Estus down his throat to keep him alive. Unfortunately for Laurentius Reima had the foresight to sear the wounds to prevent further blood loss, add the fact that undead are extremely unlikely to go into shock and Laurentius has an extremely high chance of survival under Reima's... Care?

Solaire tries to ignore the sight and speaks to him, "Reima, we've decided to have some boots made from my brother. Is it possible to do so now?" he says trying to cover up the discomfort he feels towards his friends extremely sadistic torture, his voice breaks halfway through his sentence however revealing his anxious uneasiness.

Reima looks up from his.. Subject? And nods vigorously at Solaire's question, the thought of testing the Tranposing Kiln on an actual god fills him with curious delight. "Of course, but first we must.. Extract his soul." he says and he approaches Gwyndolin. "Do you want to do it or shall I?" he directs to his two companions.

Solaire shakes his head, as much as he'd like to take responsibility for such a thing, he doubts he'd be able to force himself to strike his own brother down. Priscilla continues to glower silently while watching, not giving a for or against on the matter.

Reima nods to himself, "Well then, lets begin." he says as he decapitates Gwyndolin without a second thought with his Occult enchanted blade. His soul immediately rushes into Reima who opens his palm revealing a large golden soul still burning fiercely with a fiery vitality. He then retrieves the Transposing Kiln and lays it on the floor before sitting beside it, he drops the soul into the stone bowl inlaid with many runes before channelling more souls than he had with Petrus, almost fifty times the amount which briefly surprises Reima. The huge mass of souls coalesces inside the bowl and starts compressing in size, this continues for a couple of minutes until it suddenly starts glowing gold and expanding into an ornate golden crown, not as gaudy as the one Gwyndolin had worn and significantly smaller, being more akin to a Coronet than the helmet-like headwear Gwyndolin had displayed so proudly. It's gold and has many spikes protruding upwards while being slightly reminiscent of the sun...

Solaire and Priscilla looks at it in amazement, he'd been expecting something akin to the boots that Petrus soul had become, but this is on a whole new level. "Does it have any special enchantments?" he asks through his dry throat sheepishly.

Reima shrugs, "I'm not really sure, I think it increases the wearers Miracles? But then again it could be something completely different... I think it would suit you but I know you might have some apprehensions on literally wearing your brother." he chuckles at the thought of it.

Solaire shakes his head and picks up the Coronet, "Despite how you word it, it's my decision and therefore my responsibility... Truly it is ironic that I must literally bear the weight and burden of my choices."

Priscilla finally speaks, surprising the duo, "Doest this make you King now Brother?" she asks innocently.

...

Solaire bursts into laughter after the short silence, "Hahaha! Truly this is amusing! I can already imagine Father seething with rage, ha! Indeed I'll wear this during our confrontation."

Reima shakes his head, confused at this, does this actually make him king? And even if it does, the kingdom is in ruins..."

Solaire notices his friends confusion and speaks, "No, I'm not King. That title still belongs to my Father, despite his absence, regardless if this artifact increases my abilities in combat then I will continue wear it. " he says ignoring the Crowns disconcerting origins.

After Solaire throws a few practise SunLight Spears and confirming the Crowns ability to enhance his Miracles Reima drags the still sobbing Laurentius into the now empty chamber and up the stairs. When they arrive where the Chaos Servants were keeping guard they notice the tail end of a battle, one last Dark Moon knightess has a number of Great Combustion's being cast against her by the Flame Guard, quickly disintegrating her in a spectacular fashion.

Eingyi looks over from his commanding position and immediately notices their passenger, "Laurentius?"

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Niggross Niggross

So yeah, Gwyndolin is a major pushover, literally useless at everything aside from magic. His legacy will live on however, forever boosting Solaire's Miracles, lol.

As always, if I missed anything please let me know.
