Chapter 34: ~34~ TERM BEGINS
"Good morning, Fluffy. Ok, ok. I'm sorry to wake you up." I stroked his head when I felt his restlessness. 'Puurrr'
"I will run for a while. You sleep, ok?" After patting him one more time, I got up, washed up and wore my joggers before leaving the room.
Even though it was early hours, there were some fellow students reading books in the common room. I nodded them and said "Good morning" and left. As it was one of the privileges of Ravenclaw for winning house cup, there were no other houses out of their common room or should I say nobody would wake up so early as our house does.
I ran around the castle and watched around. The grasses began wither and weather was cold notifying the beginning of autumn. Around the Black lake, there was an eerie silence.
After I ran about fifteen kilometres, I felt tired and hungry. Time went by so fast and it was almost time for breakfast. I returned my room and had a shower before feeding Fluffy and let him roam in the castle and went down the stairs.
"Good morning, Hermione. You are late. Everybody left for breakfast, let's go, hurry up."
"Good morning, Padma. It's wrong, I just returned from running so I'm earlier than all of you." I grinned and took her arm.
"Say, Padma. Did you miss me? Why are you so cold to me?" I was weeping fake tears while asking my best friend and watching her.
"Who would miss you, hmph"
"Really? Here I was thinking to give you a gift from my trip *sniff* ?" I was holding my heart as if her answer broke my feelings.
"Cut your act, Hermione. We should hurry or we will be late." Padma was squeezing my cheeks.
"Sorry, hehe hehe. But I bought you some books to read and I know you will like it."
"Thanks, Hermione. I bought you guys gifts as well. When we meet after classes we should exchange then."
"It smells so good. Good morning, early birds. What's the menu?" I sat down and looked at my friends whom I didn't see for months.
"There are fresh eggs, sausages, black pudding, pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes, bacon, ham, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, oatmeal, berries, toasts, etc. for food and coffee, green tea, orange juice, milk, hot chocolate and pumpkin juice," Sue introduced to me.
"I'll have sausages and eggs with oatmeal and orange juice then." I filled my plate and had my breakfast when our house head walked to our table.
"Good morning, little wizards and witches. Welcome back to the school. Here are your schedules. The first class is Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall o don't be late. " Professor Flitwick gave us our programs before leaving.
"Luna, what's your first class? If you wish, we can send you there." Lisa gave a big smile to Luna who was listening to us silently.
"I've Charms with house head. It's a joint class with Hufflepuffs." Luna thanked and accepted the offer as she didn't know the roads yet.
"Listen, Luna. You don't have to be nervous. All you need to do is to answer when professors ask or you're called. Leave the rest to the boys. Last year Hermione earned most of the points for the house so this year it's boys turn." When Padma was talking about last year, Sue hit her foot under the table.
"Ouch, what did you do that for?"
"You idiot, why should she leave her fate on others' hand? If she has the ability, she should display it."
"Why should we do everything, if we have a chance to leave it to the boys? Even if I like studying and researching, it doesn't mean I like being under the spot."
I rolled my eyes as it was their daily bickering and they didn't have a winner nor fixed upon it.
"Come, Luna. Let me show you your class after having our books from the dorms." Luna and I returned to pick our books while the rest of the group decided to enjoy the breakfast for a while before leaving for classes.
As we reached to the portrait, the lady asked once more before letting us in. "What has to be broken before you can use it?"
"Do you want to solve it by yourself, Luna?" I asked as she was eager to solve it by herself.
"Sure. " Luna nodded and turned to the portrait, "The answer is an egg."

Erised252 Hi, everyone. It's been long since I sat in front of my computer to write this story. When everything was beginning to be great, things changed and now because of COVID-19, our life changed drastically. Anyway, let's cheer up. And here I am, returned to my work. Hope I'll not gone like before and we all return our life without corona and its devastating effects.
The answer of last riddle was PIANO. Sorry guys, you were close but not enough. (>_<)
