Chapter 17: The goddess, Sylphie
"Awww they're so cute!" I sit in my throne watching the crystal ball in front of me. On the crystal ball is an image, or well moving image to be precise of a female elf and a young humanoid monster snuggling together under a tree.
I love watching scenes like this instead of having to do painful paperwork here in my celestial castle. Oh yes if you don't know already I'm the goddess Sylphie.
This started when I had received a message from the goddess of the Milky Way galaxy asking if I could allow for two souls from there to come here to my galaxy, or more precisely this world. I was of course confused at first but now I'm really thankful!
These two create a great source of entertainment and I can't wait to see more! To be honest I even enjoy the one who's called Anna's fight scenes. They look really cool and like the videos that the Milky Way galaxy goddess showed me.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock* "Goddess may I enter?"
Looking up the door opened before I even gave my answer but I'm not going to scold the person who did, I mean she's scary!
The person who entered is my personal assistant and maid, Olivia. She actually used to be a mortal dark elf that I happened to rescue while I was watching her world out of boredom. Because of her extreme beauty she was being chased down after she had caught the eye of a noble when she was passing through a town.
Now I don't usually involve myself in matters regarding mortals but for some reason I descended and helped her. Why I did so I still don't fully understand but I'm thankful I did so.
When I descended I'll never forget the dark elf girl with light purple braided hair looking up at me with those golden eyes that held both surprise and hope. Her smooth dark skin and her kneeling figure as she gazed up at me. *Sigh* those were the days, she was shy and timid back then but now....
"Ahem. I don't wish to interrupt your lovely daydream goddess but you need to do your work. Now."
She said with a smile that held no warmth. Sending a shiver down my spine I quickly focus back onto my work. I have to write reports daily on my galaxies status and send them off to the higher beings. It's so troublesome!
Anyways I had blessed both Anna and Tia as per the request of the other goddess. She had mentioned something about the both of them living very pitiful lives and that she had actually grown kind of fond of them due to the way they both interacted with each other. Why she did so I'm not too sure but it may have to do with the goddess panting heavily whenever yuri scenes came up in novels or anime that she had shown me.
Regarding what the blessing does it allows them to be able to expand their mana reserves faster than anyone else. This is why Anna was able to get her humanoid form this fast and why Tia is one of the best magic users on the planet.
I have high hopes for the two to bring me entertainm... I mean peace to the mortal world. I will be expecting them to do great things as the years go on. I'll also be waiting for them here in the celestial realm.
Any being that gains enough power to become Demi-gods will arrive here to have an 'interview' with me. I will then pass judgment on whether or not they can be responsible with their power.
I had actually done this for Tia's mother, Aria. I had given her the choice of becoming an immortal Demi-goddess and becoming the goddess of the sword. She had refused my offer until her husband passed and all her children find happiness.
I was not cold hearted enough to disallow this request and I will happily wait until then. I mean it's a bit lonely here being the goddess and only having one other Demi-goddess in this celestial realm. By the way Olivia is that other Demi-goddess, she's the goddess of hunting. Her time as a mortal was spent as a hunter and she was pretty damn good at it so she became the goddess of hunting. That is why you'll here people before they go hunting ask for the goddess Olivia to bless them for a good hunt.
Getting back to my paperwork I focus again only to realise that my crystal ball is gone! Looking around I came to see a scene I didn't think was possible. Olivia was there watching the two girls on the ball in a sort of trance. By the way the two girls are leaving that mana lake and are heading to Eldran but that will be for next time teehee.
Looking at the crystal ball Olivia looks almost jealous as she whispered in a volume that I could only here "How lucky, they can be with the one they love".
I was a little thrown off by this remark and looked at her as I asked "Do you have someone you love? If so you can be with them if you desire. I won't stop you and I support your decision!"
Olivia obviously not thinking that the goddess would have heard her remark quickly put the crystal ball down and blushed. "I don't need to I am very happy here" then said in a mumble "When your here anyways dummy".
"Hmm? I didn't catch that last part, what did you say?"
"Nothing! Hey, get on with your work! Stop trying to distract yourself and me so that you don't have to work!!"
*Giggle* the goddess continued with her work after messing with Olivia a little bit. She continued her work as she wondered how the mortal world was going to play out now that Anna and Tia had reunited. 'How fun' is what she thought before getting hit on the head for daydreaming again.
