Chapter 2: Welcome To Izla

I closed the book and got up to investigate what happened. I am inside a broken-down wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere, and as a bonus, the chill I was feeling wasn't from some scary feelings, but the cabin. Where I am is in the middle of Winter!! It was supposed to be in summer, summer break! It was below freezing, with snow still falling from the sky and I am wearing shorts and a T-shirt. I turned back to look for the book, it was gone. At that moment I thought of all the books I read before, I am in some kind of magical land or a fairytale. I slapped myself once, it not only hurt but with the winter cold, it burned.

"Not in a dream!! I am Not in a Dream!" I began to worry. Then the burning winter wind blew into the broken window. I start to laugh uncontrollably.

"God. Have you forsaken me? It was supposed to in the middle of the night and warm. Why are I in a broken-down cabin in the middle of winter and the sun is out?" I crawled back into the chair I was sitting on. My body was not only cold but also frozen from uncertainty. Out of stress and shock, I collapsed onto the ground. After a few hours of rest, I woke up and I was still on the flood of this cabin. The wind stopped and I began to move around. I guess all the mangas I have read will come in handy, I searched the broken cabin and found a thick coat made out of some animal hide and a broken hatchet. There was also a broken down bookshelf, and parts of book-remains which I picked up.

"What the... What kind of language is this?" I don't know how to describe the writing but imagine reading Braille but the dots are connected.

"I am so screwed. This is a crappy start for a world of adventure!" I salvaged what I saw was useful, which is very little, and I went out into the new world.

The snow was about 12 inches tall so it was hard to walk, besides I am walking on an empty stomach. The worst start of the story I could get. Then a bandit of fat green and ugly things approached me.

"Goblins? They are real? So This is like the deadliest trap for the reader of the book. HaHa.." I laughed because I am no longer frightened, they approached closer and closer.

"Come, you ugly F's, I am not afraid of you!" I pulled out my broken hatchet. Those things are not only ugly but have this bad odor, also they have this hyena giggles mix with the noise of the static no signal TV sound. Then arrows fly out of nowhere and hit the Goblins. My body was weak and I was unable to stay awake any longer, I passed out.

"Are you ok?" as I was opening my eyes.

"What's your name?" a deep voice I heard.

"Uhh mmmm.. Where am I?"

"You are safe? What's your name?"

I fully opened my eyes, in front of me was a white beard, muscular man, sitting close to the campfire.

"I am Jacob Ito," I replied.

"My name is Groum. Eat, you look starving!" he handed me a big loaf of bread-like things.

"Why are you wandering around the open field alone and with no supplies?"

"I am quite lost, where am I?"

"Hahaha! Boy, you are in an open field, next to the Apuru mountain range north of the Rarz Empire. "

"I have no idea where I am sir, I am afraid I am not from this world."

"Hahaha. Impossible, we are in the middle of nowhere and who would want to summit you, you are weak and I sense no magic in you." he laughed while smacking his knee with great force.

"What a laugh! Well." Three people approached the campfire. Groum points to the first person.

"This is Victor, he is an Elf." I looked at him, tall with long gray hair, and short pointy ears, he looks like an Elf from a fairytale movie.

"Hello!" Victor reply. Groum points to another person.

"This is Hanna. She is a mid-Elf, a bit different than Victor but part of Elf race."

"Last we have Alex, He is a Urufu. I guess you can see that he is like with wolf ears, eyes, and tail. But he can also detect and smell enemies so he is very useful to us." I was shocked by the different races.

"My name is Jacob. Nice to meet everyone." Alex smiled.

"Very nice to meet you too. Now let's get you out of this place." Everyone agreed and got up. The snow is still quite deep but I felt better because I am with other living things. Maybe this is ok after all. We moved fast through the snow. They talked to each other like good friends, I was following them but I didn't say anything, everyone seems everyone happy, I want a group like that. But it seems bad luck follows me everywhere. In front of us, a lady holding a sword in one hand and a wipe embedded with blades on the other hand.

"Holy hell. Is that a demon." Groum yelled and the group went into a battle position.

"A demon! That is not nice to call a lady! My name is Entoma" She smiled. For a moment I saw a female like a person with large horns and red eyes. As she approached, a bad omen came upon us. Then Entoma opened her mouth and sharp teeth and snake-like tongue hanging out of her mouth.

"You guys look delish. Let me take a bite!!" Groum took his giant sword and swung at Entoma. As the battle got more and more intense, I turned and tried to run, then a sharp pain hit me.

"Where are you going, boy!" The bladed wipe locked and cut my ankle. I began to scream in pain holding my foot. Then as Groum turns to me, Entoma took her sword and cuts off Groum's head.

"Groum!!" Hanna screamed, then Groum fell.

"Keep your eyes on me!" Entoma swung her sword and cut off Hanna's arms.

"You bastard! I am going to kill you!" Victor cast fire magic at Entoma.

"You got to do better than that Elf!" she pulls off the wipe and I saw my foot fly off of my body. She tossed it at Victor. It cut across Victor's body, causing as much damage as possible. Victor lied there bleeding out as Alex approached him.

"Victor!" Alex cried while helping Hanna. Entoma tossed her sword and it pierced Alex's chest. Hanna cried out. Then Entoma wiped Hanna as she screamed. The scream stopped, I knew she was gone. I was lying there in pain, bleeding out, and can't move from the shock of such violence.

"It's your turn!" she turned to me and laughed. She walked slowly throughs me as I tried to crawl. I knew it was useless. She used her wipe, latched on to my other foot. I turned to face the sky, as she continued to walk slowly to me. I no longer feel the pain in my legs. I had tears rolling down my face as I smiled, knowing that she was standing on top of me. She lifted her sword, I closed my eyes as the sword came down on me.
