Chapter 11: The battle of one move

"It looks like your friend Adam's talent test results were incorrect due to an error in the talent measurement device. After he had repeated the test, he got an outstanding talent. And he had also reached the E rank, so he has the right to participate in today's competition." the teacher told his students after the headmaster had left.

Adam's white desperate face suddenly lightened from joy. He was like an addict who is seeing the drugs in front of him but he can't take them. For him, the tournament wasn't just a competition to earn money and new skills but it was a chance for him to prove to the whole city that he, a boy from humble origins, was able to win against the sons of big families.

And also make those arrogant people realize that this unfair system needs a change.

"Teacher, this is unfair how could a cripple like him join the competition while I, the son of the Scarlet Flame Family, can't." Samir, one of Ilyass's underlings said while looking at Adam with disdain.

"The rules are clear if a student hasn't reached the E rank he would be able to join today's..." the teacher replied.

"Aren't you giving any face to my family who is dying every day fighting the beasts to protect the city while you are hidden here." the yellow-haired boy threatened.

"How dare you speak to me like that? Apologize or I will kick you out of my class."

"HaHa! Apologize! I didn't do anything wrong I had only said the truth. Instead, it's you who have to apologize for preventing a talented fighter like me from joining the competition. If you think that just because I am not an E ranker I will easily lose then let me spare with that cripple. And if I lose, I will genuinely apologize."

"Alright, if you win, I promise you that I am going to resign." the teacher said with a calm tone but from the inside, he was a volcano burning from rage.

"tod"

Adam jumped up to the ring angrily. He was in a very good mood after the teacher accepted him to join but this arrogant good for nothing who has already lost to him before when he fought against Ilyass ruined the moment. He still dared to disrespect him so Adam decided to teach him an unforgettable lesson.

Samir walked up to the ring lazily while unsheathing his shiny sword. "Sharp Feather Sword," His sword not only became lighter like a feather but also sharper.

"Cheetah's rush," Samir used his low-class skills while he was dashing toward Adam.

"Samir had already learned two low-class techniques. He indeed has the right to participate in the tournament. That cripple was just lucky to reach the E rank." a girl told her friend.

"Inner Energy Fist" shouted as a faint black glow appeared on his hand. He grabbed his enemy's sword in the blink of an eye, the attack was very fast so Adam wasn't able to dodge but because he had reached the D rank his eyesight had improved so he was able to see the attack path.

"This impossible! How could you stop my sword with your bare hand?"

"Oh my god! This is insane. How could that cripple, I mean Adam, stop such a strong attack with only his hand? His skill must be a rare defense technique to be able to stop two low-class skills combined attack." a student exclaimed loudly in surprise.

After he prevented his enemy from retreating, Adam tapped slowly Samir's front with his index finger and the later was sent flying.

_peng!_

Samir was slammed on the ground so hard that he coughed blood.

"Wow! He beat him in one move, with the power of only one finger." someone said.

Adam's attack would have killed his opponent if he used his whole fist or his skill. Because of the big difference between D ranker and below ranks fighter.

Samir who was still lying on the ground looked toward Ilyass and said:" brother, you have to take my revenge."

"Stupid, you dared brag with your pitty skills and even dared to the annoy the teacher," Ilyass responded as he left the gymnasium.

"How could you leave like this, I have always been on your side. You ungrateful bastard. I will never forgive you." Samir said as he tries so hard to stop his tears. He was surrounded by a cruel indifferent crowd that was cheering his name just minutes ago. But now they are all laughing at his misfortune. He wished his enemy's attack would have made him unconscious rather than seeing his most respected person's betrayal.

"The fight is over. As I had already said. Samir, you are not worthy of joining the tournament." the teacher said. "Does anyone else want to fight with Adam over his position?"

No one dared to challenge him, they were looking at Adam in fear. Because they have disrespected and bullied him every day, so they were afraid of his revenge.

Except for Yassmine, she knew Adam wasn't the type of people that seek revenge after gaining power. Instead, he wants to be an example for the other students who look down on others just because they are weak. "Fighters must use their powers to help the weak." he always says.

"If there are no more challenges. Then, let me announce the winners' names who will compete in the tournament next month. Ilyass, Yasmine, Adam, Ali, Salma... "

The teacher called ten students names who will participate in the tournament next month to gain the title of the strongest in the younger generation. All the ten students were nobles from big families except for him and Ali. As a result, they can't get pills, skills, and even tutors that their peers have. So they needed to work harder to keep up with their rivals.
