Chapter 13: A little past.. A little present..
...( 20 minutes before evrything started this morning )...
Elizabeth's POV :-
By the time I was already awake ,staring at the ceiling of room thinking something random. I was too lazy to get up and besides,it wasn't that late either..
"I wonder what happened to that warrior girl from before.. I hope everyone's handelling her well.." I thought.
My headache from yesterday had lowered a little but its still striking from time to time.Thankfully, I was informed by Howzer about the whole.situation yesterday...So, I decided not to barge in the tavern in the middle of the night.
"I think I ate something wrong at the feast yesterday.." I muttered before I finally decided to get up.
I was still wondering on my foolishness to leave the sins in such an emergency situation yesterday.. But my headache went so bad that I couldn't hold it anymore.. and I didn't want to worry them anymore than they already were.
"The weather is quite calm today.." I stated as I made my way to the window finally deciding to get up.The surroundings were fresh just like every morning but yet something struck me off..
"This day seems uncalm.." I muttered even without realising my words.. Which startled me to think about what the hell was this feeling..? I've never felt like this before?
"Huh...I think I've really lost it now.." I was about to shrugg it off but suddenly that feeling waved through me again..all the way up through my body.
Narrator's POV:-
As soon as Elizabeth felt the chill.again,her face suddenly fell off. "No.." She muttered "Something's definitely not right..!" She quickly ran through the door to the corridors..
As she reached the bottom, she felt the chill again "Its...Its coming from the forests!!" Elizabeth exclaimed as she quickly drifted to her left.
"Open those gates!... QUICK!!" The guards did as they were ordered and quickly pushed open the main doors.But till the time they could even ask anything Elizabeth spread her white ,shiny wings and flew out of the castle.
"Eh?...What just happened?" One of the guards muttered glaring at the long gone princess.

Elizabeth just landed at the mere entrance of the greenery. Looking forward as her heart started sinking even more ,the day had barely began and the forest was deep dark.
"Looks like something's in there.." she said as she gulped in nervousness. The bushes were shaking vigorously like something was coming near. It was still much dark,and so it was impossible to make a clear image of the surroundings.
Elizabeth alerted herself as she moved her hands to form a slight arc,not to attack,but to lighten the area.
*scrubble* *crush* The sound of the bushes got louder as Elizabeth slowly tiptoed towards it.
And suddenly ! A figure jumped out of the bushes in front of her!!
Inspite of giving some relief, Elizabeth's arc instead form dangerous shadows on the person's face causing her to look even more terrible.
It was.... 'Jericho'!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!....." (Elizabeth)
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!...." (Jericho)
Half a minute later... 😐
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!...." (Elizabeth)
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!....." (Jericho)
Another half a minute later...
While screaming,Elizabeth finally realised why the hell is she even doing this? But Jericho still continued.
"AHHHHHHH-" "Jericho..Is that you?!" Elizabeth covered her mouth in an instant unabling her to even breath.
"Ah...! " Jericho gasped heavily as she pushed away Elizabeth's hands. "P-Princess?? What are you doing here?!" She asked in a furious tone clearly warning Elizabeth to head back.
"I should be asking the same to you! Why are you here at this time?!" Elizabeth fired back.
" Well..I came here for training ofcourse! Its my daily morning routine!" she said in a proudful tone "Unlike those lazy men who don't even care about training!"she added,clearly accusing Gilthunder , Howzer and Griomoire.
Elizabeth didn't said anything except staring at Jericho,when she finally chuckled. "You almost scared me right now!"
Jericho couldn't hold her smile as well "I know..I got taken away as well.. Can it be a secret between us?" she asked and Elizabeth nodded in agreement.
"Now..Tell me what brought you here at this time of the day princess?" Jericho's tone again turned into a serious one while Elizabeth kept gazing at her constantly thinking. "I think it'll be better if I tell her. She might help me out..or atleast inform the others if something goes wrong. But,I won't let her meddle into this and get hurt."
"Well.. You see..I" And Elizabeth told everything to Jericho whose serious gaze gradually turned into a worried one. A sudden silence filled the air as Jericho processed the newly filled information before speaking again.
"So you're saying that you can sense a powerful aura which even the others couldn't ? Not even Meliodas or the Sins?!"
"Well...I'm not sure about whether they could or not. But shouldn't they be here already if they could?" Elizabeth muttered
"I want you to go and inform them before something comes up!" she added hurriedly.
"NO WAY!" Jericho exclaimed clearly annoyed "I'm coming with you! I can't run away leaving our princess behind!" she added.
"But-" "Now way..I'm gonna come.with you.THAT'S IT" She grabbed Elizabeth hand as she sighed.
"Very well then.." She sighed again "But promise me you're gonna leave me and run if something went wrong. Okay!?"she added.
"Yes! Your Highness!" And with that they both went in.

"I can sense it.. We're nearing the aura!" Elizabeth thought as she glanced at Jericho worriedly. They've been walking for a while now and the day has finally brightened a bit but the sun is yet to rise.
They finally reached the exit of the forests and they've been walking straight for 2 hours now. It was now all plains and they've left the trees behind.
Among the normal sized once,there were two very tall trees that stand-out from the others.
"These..are also referred to as 'The Sunphilia Trees'. The sun rise of our kingdom showers its first rays of the days upon these two." Jericho said pointing at the trees.
"Amazing! I remember,Father told me about them once. But this is the first time I'm seeing them,they sure are so tall.." Elizabeth gave a childish reply hanging her head upwards to see the trees clearly.
"You sure are the same Elizabeth." Jericho chuckled but Elizabeth couldn't understand what she meant and chuckled as well as they continued to walk.
...
"What's this..?" Elizabeth muttered nearing the river but she stopped a few steps away.
"The aura dissapeared after this." She said pointing at the lake.
"Hmm...It seems something's fishy with the lake then." Jericho hurriedly made her way towards the river as she bent down and. glanced at her face reflecting in the river,she noticed several cuts and bruises on her skin. "Hmm..My face doesn't look well..I should be careful while training.." She looked a little more but couldn't sense anything suspicious from the lake.
"Princess!."She turned towards Elizabeth who was still standing few steps away from her. " I don't think there's anything here..We should probably head back."
"I-I see..." Elizabeth replied still showing a worried look on her face.
"Well then-" "ROOOOAAAAARR!!!!..." It happened in just a split second. Elizabeth ,who was standing alone just a few feet away from Jericho,was now surrounded by two huge grey demons! Blood stains all over their body as a pungent,rotten and disgusting smell filled the area.
*THUD!!* *CRACK!* And they suddenly hit Elizabeth directly with thier fists at once. Like they were waiting just for this moment to began with.
"E-Eliza....beth..?..." Jericho couldn't utter a word,it was like thousands of hammers struck her heart in an instant,the worst of worst that could've happened in her life was right before her eyes.
Moreover, she knew this might happen because Elizabeth is a goddess whom every demon wanted to hunt yet, she let her guard down.
"ELIZABETH!!!!!" She yelled ,even though her throat ache,she kept yelling. The dust by the hit covered the surroundings and it was impossible to see anything clearly.
"ELIZABETH!!" "ELIZABETH!!!" Jericho kept shouting as she stormed into the dust cloud,not caring if the demons were still there ready to munch her alive.
Jericho's POV :-
*slash* *slew* *flash* a sound came followed by a "Rooaaarrr!!!!" This was surely the sounds of the demon screaming in agony. But I didn't saw Elizabeth launching any attack..There wasn't a single second to do that!
Besides,this sound wasn't of an arc attack which Elizabeth uses. This..I can bet that was the sound of a sword slashing through some flesh.
I can't panic right now,I was taught to never believe something without seeing through it. If I panicked,my body will surely freeze at one point and I won't let that happen!
"Elizabeth!!" I called out again,not minding using the designation 'Princess' anymore.
I soon felt like I stepped over something,it was sticky and dense. I moved my hand throught,and it didn't took me long to realise what it was.
"B-Blood?" I whispered as the dust cloud settled down. If I wasn't already panicked enough,I would have clearly freaked out.
I was standing on one of the demon's palm and his sticky blood was flowing all over the place from his slashed knees,that were lying apart from his body.
I unconciously covered my mouth in disgust ,soon,..I realised that this was the case with the other demon as well. Both of the demons were slashed through their knees unabling them to move.
"Who...In the world did this?" I muttered as soon as I began looking around,but there wasn't any trace of Princess Elizabeth anywhere. I was still very close to the demons,who weren't yet dead.
"Oye blue one! Searching for somethin' ?"." A voice came from somewhere in the sky? I quickly turned to look above but I couldn't meet my sudden gaze with the bright shade of the sky.
I unconsciously closed my eyes only to get a glimpse of the person who spoke.
It was the time of sunrise and I could say the rays slowly making their way to the 'Sunphilia trees' on which the person was standing.
