Chapter 12: One more Blunder
*Crash* And the 'already beaten up ' grey demon was sent dragging into the ruins.
"*gasp* *gasp* Not enough!" Elizabeth chased him in a flash gasping heavily as she flew past the sins not caring to even give them a glance like they weren't even there to began with.
"E-Elizabeth.." Meliodas could do nothing but freeze just like the others were.This was the total other side of the Elizabeth he loved so much. Indeed this view was something he would have never imagined in his wildest dreams.
Elizabeth was all soaked in the demon blood now,she was bathed in red colour except her golden godess eyes which were giving creeps to every person near her.
"Just wait till I cut the hell out of you.YOU SCUM!!" She yelled launching another arc attack ready to fry the demon off.
"ARC!!" And with that Elizabeth launched the attack straight for the Demon's head.
"Rraaaawwwwwwrrrr!!!!" The demon croed knowing that his end was near as a huge white fire ball came crawling towards it.
"ITS THE END. DEMO-" (Elizabeth)
"FULL COUNTER!!"
Soon the arc wave could be seen flying back to the sky and it dissapeared. Elizabeth was stunned, she couldn't believe her eyes as she realised the only person in the world who could counter back her 'Arc' attack.
"Meliodas..?" She whispered desperately waiting for the smoke caused by her sudden attack to settle down.
"Hah!" Suddenly Meliodas appeared out of nowhere right in her front ,not waiting for the smoke to settle.
"Meliodas..! Man! You're late at the party.!" Elizabeth waved with her usual smile like nothing happened and remained still not letting her smile off. Meliodas too wasn't any bad,he also acted like they were merely walking in the park.
"Oh..I'm sorry about that.. " Meliodas gently held her hand and turned her to the opposite side of the demon. "Guess I got slower after slacking off these days." he added with a wide grin.
"Oh that be the case! You should've seen how I fried off the other one! Just let me finish this one and-" but before Elizabeth could say further,Meliodas enveloped her into a tight hug and whispered into her ears.
"Your tender hands aren't made for killing Elizabeth..They are for saving other's lives. Let us handle the rest."
*Crash* A sound came finishing and the demon's groan could no longer be heard. It was Dianne's Gideon..and the demon was no longer alive.
"Well done Dianne!"King cheered from behind but the atmosphere was still tensed and it didn't helped.
"He-Hey!! I was going to finish it!"Elizabeth flew past Meliodas like his words didn't affect her at all ,landing in front of the Sins and a passed out Jericho in Ban's arms.
"Sis-sis?" Even Merlin gave a confused look because words like those were far too unexpected coming from Elizabeth.
"You've already done it?..You really ruined my fun!" She turned to Meliodas who was still mid air "You should've at least let me see that Meliodas! You're a Jerk!"
Everyone's eyes widened and Dianne could no longer hold it "E-Elizabeth! Are you hurt?! What did those Demons do to you??!!" She asked in a clear worried tone.
"Nopes" Elizabeth answered in a monotone . "Th-Then why are you acting so strange! That's not like you at all!" Dianne almost yelled with teary eyes and twitched eyebrows.
Finally,Elizabeth's eyes widened on the statement as she looked at her surroundings. The demon she fried off,the other demon she almost fried off, the tone of her voice,her bloody hands,the faces of the sins and at last the stunned Meliodas who just now landed beside her.
Maybe Dianne shouldn't have said that.. Elizabeth doesn't look very well. King thought giving a worried look. There was a deadly silence as no one spoke,all desperately waiting for Elizabeth to at least respond.
"E-Elizabeth..I'm sorry I didn't mean -" (Dianne)
"I don't know what you're talking about." Elizabeth replied with the same seriousness resembling Ban's. Everyone's eyes widened once again. " If you're talking about how I defeated the demons,then let me remind you that I'm still a goddess and that's how we usually deal with such situations." Elizabeth grabbed her head as she felt a slight beat but didn't mind it that much.
"And besides..It was you people who arrived late. I could feel its presence far ahead in the palace while you all were even closer to it. If I hadn't handeled the situation it might have been infiltrated the kingdom. Am I wrong?" Elizabeth's words felt like spears to everyone,not because she was accusing them but because they felt responsible to make her shed blood like that.
"You're right... We..we are extremely sorry." Dianne answered with a sorry face,maybe she was thinking too much.
"Its okay.. Cheer up guys..!" Elizabeth smiled again as she turned to Meliodas and grabbed his hands "You too Meliodas.. I know you are putting up an act." And with that Meliodas's fake smile.turned into a real one as he hugged Elizabeth again.
"I'm just glad you're safe. You did good..Elizabeth.." He whispered.
"Well then..I guess we should return-" "Ah!!" Suddenly Elizabeth grabbed her head tightly as the previous slight beating turned into an extreme one.
"Elizabeth!!" Was the last word she could.hear before her vision blackened as she blacked out.
"Elizabeth?!" " Elizabeth!!" Meliodas kept yelling along with the others but she didn't respond.
...Time Lapse (Elizabeth's room in the tavern ).....
Meliodas was holding Elizabeth's hands who was still unconsious ,lying on her bed while the others surrounded them with worried looks.
"Oh no..Elizabeth" Elaine who just came to know the situation was far too surprised to believe them.
"But how on earth were 2 giant demons able to hide in the forests and we couldn't even feel their energy?" Elaine's question was probably what everyone wanted the answer for but didn't have any.
" If only we would've reached there earlier this might not have happened." was what every sin was thinking except Meliodas who clearly knew what his comrades were thinking right now.
"Hey captain?" Ban finally asked frustrated from such confusion.
"Hmm?" Meliodas replied.
" Mind if I ask something?" Ban asked again.
"What is it? Go on." He replied.
"Is there any kind of power in your race that can-" But Ban was cut off by Meliodas's sudden reply.
"No Ban...A common demon couldn't have such a power to... " He tightened his grab as he took a deep breath "To be able to diverge someone's personality like this...."
"Then how would you explain this? Besides there wasn't anyone else there except those 2 demons and Jericho." This time it was King.
"No..You're wrong!" A sudden voice startled the Sins as they quickly gave a *Shhhh!* sign to the person indicating their fingure towards Elizabeth who looked a little disturned by the sudden noise.
"Oh..My apologies.." Jericho lowered her voice as she entered the room with Gilthunder,whose eyes suddenly widened upon the sight of Elizabeth.
"I came here on behalf of the king and the two princesses. Anyhow we managed to make them stay in the castle because its dangerous out here." He paused for a while before glancing at Elizabeth again,her cheeks were red and she was all sweaty.
"Still feverish.." He said in a low tone "Any improvements ?"he added.
"No yet..But she'll get better I just know it." Meliodas gave a sad smile which restrained Gil from asking any further.
To think that our princess has to fight,while the knights were slacking off..is the most humiliating thing ever. How.am I supposed to meet her gaze now? Gilthunder tightly clenched his fists in remorse.
"Hey Jericho? What was that you were saying just now?" Gowther asked pointing his gaze at the blue haired girl who sat beside Elizabeth,feeling accused for her condition as well.
"Uh?..Oh yes! There was another person except me and Elizabeth at the scene!" Jericho stood up in sudden realisation as she looked straight into Meliodas's eyes.
" It was.... 'Her'!" Jericho's sudden words almost startled everyone causing them to stood abruptly. While Meliodas's eyes widened in surprise, they didn't need any further detail of the word 'her' as they already knew who Jericho was referring to.
..........(Serah's side. Somewhere in the same forests).....
"Acchooo.....!!" A sudden sneeze escaped Serah, causing her only dried fish to suddenly fall off.
"Well..Well..There goes my last one...😒" She said as she fed some wood to the fire she was currently sitting beside. She gazed at the sky which was currently shining with millions of twinkling stars.
"Huh... All these scenery thing really su*ks." She whistled trying to attract any wild animal which she could hunt down for dinner. Although she knew that they won't come near the fireplace but she didn't wanted to put off the fire she lighted so perfectly.
" I don't know how people could waste their time so easily gazing at the sky like this." With this Serah stopped whisteling as she stretched her arms. "well..doesn't works for me at least."
"Guess..I have to go deeper.." And with that she left the fireplace into the forests.
