Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3 : BUSINESS TRIP
That morning, Hanson went to the airport together with Candy since they live in the same building. Marvin saw them came together that morning, he asked curiously "Candy, why did you came together with boss ?"
Candy thought fast how to answer him "Umm.... I left something in the office this morning, boss was there also, so he took me together with him to caught up our flight."
"Oh I see, I thought you live together with him ?" He smiled teasing her.
Candy's eyes widened she was afraid to get caught "Oh don't talk nonsense ! You know I'm just a newbie here, don't make any gossips about this anymore ok ?" But she thought again why should she be afraid, she did nothing wrong. Then she walked confidently again carrying her luggage to the waiting room.
They arrived at Osaka a few hours later, then they went to the H hotel to checked in.
Hanson reminded two of them "We will have meeting with Mr. Tokugawa this afternoon. Are you guys ready ?"
They both confidently answered him back "Yes sir !"
Hanson satisfied with their passion "OK, let's have check in first in our hotel, I've booked two rooms for us. You stay with me Marvin."
Marvin nodded "OK sir." He took his luggage and go after him. Candy followed after them also, her room was next to theirs.
They had meeting with Mr. Tokugawa at the hotel lobby that afternoon, and the dealing went well.
Hanson greeted his client with big smile and he then introduced his team "Nice to meet you Mr. Tokugawa, this is my project manager Marvin Guo and our visual designer Candy Wu."
Mr. Tokugawa looking at them with friendly smile and greeted to them back "Nice to meet you all. OK, You may present your proposal now !"
Mr. Tokugawa was impressed by Marvin's presentation supported by Candy's designs. He admired her talent on designs.
"Well, I can see you're professional in your field, you're ideas just now was impressive ! I like it, what about the visual media, who will you take to represent my products ?"
Hanson showed him some pictures of their models "We have two options for you, you can take our local actress, here are some pictures of them, or you can take your own model. What do you think ?"
Mr. Tokugawa think for a while then responded him "I think for the first time I'll take my renown international actress here, we'll see the result then."
Hanson wrote down on his note "OK we'll prepare for the materials and equipment you need. And please inform us about the model soon. We will visit your factory tomorrow to study about your product too."
Mr. Tokugawa shook Hansen hand "Thank you, it's nice to have work with you Mr. Jang ! I will arrange my assistant for you to have tour on my factory tomorrow."
Hanson shook his hand back "Nice to have work with you too Mr. Tokugawa, I hope we can cooperate together well in the future !"
"Sure, I'd love to. See you again soon !" He waved good bye to them all and then back to his car.
After the meeting Hanson decided to stay in there for another three days to study their products well at their factory. But their product learning took faster, it finished in two days.
There was still one more day before their flight back, he decided to go to enjoy the mountain view, Candy was so excited to hear that. They rent bikes from their hotel and climbed up the mountain tracks, Candy also bought a canvas and some paintings tools with her before. She looked for a nice spot then she started to paint. She made herself comfortable sitting on a bench under a big tree. She really admired the nature and she always spent sometimes to spill the ideas onto her draw. While Hanson and Marvin continue their adventure on biking to the villages. When they came back to her place, she still didn't finished her paintings yet.
Hanson got amazed with her paintings, it reminded him about his memorable past with a little girl who messed up his house with paint, it was his happiest moment, and he longing to that little girl, he smiled when he remembered her "Qian Qian where are you now ?" he whispered deep down in his heart.
"Candy, until when will you stay here ?" he teased Candy who was very serious with her work. She had been sitting there for two hours.
Candy didn't move from her seat because she's too focus with her paintings, so she replied him back casually "I don't know, maybe before dark ?"
"Wow, I don't think Marvin agreed with you, sorry we can't accompanied you that long. We have to leave now." He tried to persuaded her to go back with them, but she still didn't move.
Candy still insisted "It's OK you may go, I'm OK alone with me here. I haven't finished this, it's just fun to have my hobby back. I'll be back soon, don't wait for me !"
Marvin couldn't wait any longer so he said to her "OK we're leaving now, take care!"
Hanson and Marvin left her alone that afternoon, they went back to the hotel and had their lunch, later they went to the gym and had some swim. But left alone Candy that long was bothering Hanson's mind, so he decided took some snacks with him and went to see Candy again and he accompanied her till it's get almost dark.
"Why do you come back here ?" Candy asked him while she still finishing her paintings.
"I couldn't bear to leave you alone here. Here I've got some snacks for you, I bet you didn't have your lunch right ?" he gave her some bread and water.
Candy took the water and the snack , she stopped for a while and gulped some water "Yeah, I was too exciting and forgot my hungry. Thanks for the snack anyway." she continued to paint again.
Hanson tried to persuade her to rest "Just take a break for a while will you, come sit here is refreshing !" He patted down the grass beside him and instructed her to sit beside him.
She streched up her arms then she followed him.
They both sat on the grass and enjoyed the nice weather, she ate a bread brought by Hanson before.
"Do you like to paint that much ?" he asked curiously.
Candy replied him while munched her bread "Yeap, just like my mom, she taught me how to paint since I was a child, she own a gallery also."
"You reminded me of a little girl from my childhood, she likes to paint also, she's very cute and creative !"
"Oh really ? I wonder how is she look like ?"
"But why didn't you learn about art before ?" he's still curious about her.
"Well, my dad used to told me to take business major, but I refused. So we took some compromised that's why I took Visual Communication design. It's a modern art right ?" she tried to explain to him.
"Oh, I see. Well ....looks like you and your dad don't get along well do you ?"he asked her.
Candy denied him "No, It's not like that, yes we do sometimes had some arguments and different thoughts but we can compromised it and he cared about me a lot ! I know he always wants the best for me and I love him too !"
Hanson got to know her bit by bit without she realize "I see, so you're that close to your dad ?"
Candy replied him back "Yes, how about you ?"
"Me ? ... well, I guess my dad not too care for me, he let me open my own company than run his company, but my mom... her care about me so much and sometimes a bit annoying." Hanson slowly opened up to her also.
She's curious about him now "haha... how annoying ?"
"She always nagging me to get married." His face turned to frown while explain it to her.
Candy laughed out loud seeing his expression "You should get married then ?"
Hanson sighed "I hate someone ruling my own life ! I know someday I'll marry a woman, but just let me choose by myself, not by some stupid blind dates !"
She didn't expect his family was like hers "Ouw you were arranged by some blind dates also ?"
Hanson felt connected to her "Yes, it happened a few times already. Did you too ?"
"I'm not, but my dad once told me before to arrange my marriage with one of his acquaintance's son but I refused him and we had an agreement." She replied.
"What agreement ?" He asked her curiously.
"It's secret ! Maybe I'll tell you someday !" she smiled then left him wondering. She then continued finishing her painting. Hanson just wry smiled, but he really enjoyed that afternoon accompany her and so exciting with their casual chatting to each other about their life, They're getting to know about each other lifes slowly but sure in natural way. He felt relax when he was with her, her spontaneous and straighforward action just fit with him and it made him connected to her.
They went back to the hotel that afternoon, Hanson helped her carried her things and they had dinner together with Marvin.
Marvin curiously asked them when he saw them came together "What were you guys doing this afternoon ?"
"I just finishing my paintings, and Boss was just sitting around accompany me." She responded him.
Hanson just smiled nodded "Yeah, I was afraid my smart employee would be snatched away by someone else."
Marvin teased them "Haha... I thought you two were dating ! It was looong time I've been waiting for you two to come back here."
Candy hurriedly replied him back "No, we're not !"
Hanson just silenced he didn't react to Marvin's teasing, he continued eating his meal like nothing happened, he just ignored him, but deep down in his heart ..."I wished I was dating her..."
They went back to their city the next day. When they arrived at the airport Marvin was picked up by his dad then he went home first. Hanson and Candy then took a cab to their apartment together.
Candy felt relieve seeing Marvin left first "Thanks God he went home first !"
"Why ?" Hansen wondering.
Candy told him about their departure before "When we arrived at the airport before he asked me why I came together with you, I was so nervous to answered him, then I said I met you at the office while picked up something I left, that's why we came together."
Hanson laughed "Actually what do you afraid of if they saw us came together ?"
Candy told her worry to him"I don't want to be gossiping by other workers, they will bully me more ! You know I'm still newbie right ? And I heard from other employee that Jolin our supervisor had an eye for you sir ! She'll be jealous with any women who close to you !"
Hanson laughed out loud, he didn't believe what she said "Nonsense ! I never heard that gossip before ? Well I don't like her, I like you more than her !"
Candy got nervous hearing what he just said, she tried to reply him back with smile "Please don't say that again to tease me sir, I'll get flattered ! You know I'm still newbie, I don't want to be bullied by other and make any troubles in the future."
"OK it's up to you."he cut her off and they got into the taxy.
They decided to take taxy to stay away from gossip, if Hanson asked his driver to picked them up, he would know that Candy live in the same building with her boss and soon it would be a hot gossip in their office and it would make her supervisor Jolin to be on fire of jelousy. Candy didn't want to confront her as much as she can. She knew her place well as newbie and didn't want to had favoured by her boss and made other got jelous.
