CHAPTER 2 : DO I KNOW YOU ?
FLASHBACK
When Candy was studying in the USA she did some part time jobs, not because she lacked of money, but her father gave her limited money, just enough for living, because he wanted to trained her to learnt about struggling for living, so he let her do some part time jobs. She started to worked at the library of her school in her second year, but she got bored after six months, then she worked at the flower shop for the next three months, but she didn't fit that job either. Then she worked quite a long time at the chinese restaurant near her university, she started as a waiter there, she enjoyed translating english into chinese fluently there, the owner liked her a lot. Sometimes she played with her violin at the week ends to entertained the customer there and on some special occasion like customers birthday or new year.
One day Hanson was there at that restaurant with his friends, he was impressed listening to her violin playing, she caught his attention, he gave her an applause after she finished her playing. He was thinking it would be great if he could play another music instrument together with her. The other year Hanson went into that restaurant again with his client and Candy took his order "Can I take your order sir ?"
Hanson looked at the menu for a while then he told her his order "OK I'd like to order your favorite menu here. " When he saw her he remembered something "Oh By the way, did you played violin here before ?"
Candy surprised that someone noticed her playing "Yes sir, how do you know ?"
"I saw you when you played once. It was a nice play ! I think it was with some children singing together here ?" Hanson replied her with big smiled but asked her to make sure.
Candy got flattered, she tried to think hard when was she played for the last time with some children "Oh I think it was the last time when we treated the orphanages here."
"Oh I see, did you play on special occasion only ?" asked Hanson curiously.
"Well, sometimes I played on the week ends while there were so many customer here. But not every week end too, cause I have my day off mostly on week ends."
Hanson still amazed with her talent on music, he tried to persuaded her to play together with him someday "Hmm you played your violin well last time, I think we should play together someday !"
Candy got flattered "I'm not that good sir, you must be mistaken !"
She wanted to go back to the kitchen, but Hanson kept on asking her questions, finally she cut him off "I'm sorry sir I have to inform your order to the kitchen first !"
"Oh yeah go ahed then, we'll talk again later. " He let her go then.
Candy excused herself then "Thank you sir, do you have any addition order ? If not I have to input your order now."
"OK that's all for now. I'll tell you if we need to order more later."
When Hanson paid the bills and was about to go home he searched for Candy again, but he couldn't find her, actually he'd like to ask her name, but he forgot it and just leaving at that time.
Not long after a girl suddenly bumped into him on the street very late at night "Please help me sir someone was stalking me !" Subconsciously she grasp Hanson's suit jacket tightly. With the back of her head pressed into his shoulder, she did not feel the need to break free and instead buried her face into his shirt. He could feel the person in his embrace trembling
"It's alright, it's okay now, don't be afraid." Hanson stroked the back of her crown gently. He lowered his head slightly, brushing his lips against her hairline just above her temple.
Then he saw a man walked passing them suspisiously, he glanced at her when he passed them.
"Is it him ?" he whispered to her ears. Candy tried to peeped a little after the man passed them. "I think so !"
"It's OK now, he's gone. Do you want me to take you home ?" said Hanson gently to her.
"No, I can take a bus. Can you send me to that bus station ?" asked Candy in tremble.
"OK" Hanson took her to the bus station nearby. The bus came by the time they got into the station. Candy thanked him with faintly smile "Thank you sir !" Then she entered the bus.
Hanson saw her went away and waved at her "Take care"
After she went away, he just realized that she was the girl he's been looking for, and he forgot to asked her name again.
Ever since that day, that girl face got stuck in his mind.
The next year when Hanson visited USA again, he went to that restaurant to seek for Candy, but too bad she was no longer working at that restaurant, he couldn't get any information about her since he didn't know her name either.

Hanson went to the office together with Candy that day, they started to had some chats in the car.
"You said you were graduated from USC right ?" Asked Hanson to open their conversation.
"Yes, Why do you ask ?" she replied.
"I was graduated from there too."
"Really ? What major did you take ?" Candy got surprised, she didn't expect it.
"I took hospitality management, but I think I've already graduated when you entered that univ. That's why we never met each other there. But somehow ... I think you familiar to me, do I know you before ? Seems like I've seen you somewhere before." He told her his suspicion.
Candy somehow felt the same as him too "Speaking of that, I think I've seen you too before, but I don't know where. I can't remember it. Were you still staying in USA after graduated ?"
"Yeah about three years, I once working at an advertising company there. I also went to USA few times to see my clients the other years. When I was living in USA I used to go to my favorite chinese restaurant there, it's called "Xuang Shi" (Double Happiness)." He told her about his habitual while he stayed in the USA, he tried to confirm his suspicion.
Candy finally answer his suspicion "Ouw, I used to had part time work in that place ! Did we ever met each other in there ?" She felt connected.
Hanson smiled, he satisfied with her answer "Hmm....Maybe.... ?"
The conversation that morning was stopped, since his car already on the parking lot.
Candy got surprised when she realize they've already got into the parking lot "Ah... You forgot to dropped me off on the street ! We were to exciting with our chat this morning, and we've already on the parking place now."
Hanson tried to reassure her "It's OK, we can get into the office together once in a while. No one will notice us !"
Candy decided to let him walk first, she then followed after him about few minutes later "You can walk to the lift first sir, I'll follow after you later !"
Hanson sighed but he did what she told him "As you wished !". She followed him to the entrance after she saw him went into the lift.
Hanson told her secretary to had meeting that day, he told his marketing manager to take a look at Candy's designs and brought them to the meeting as well. They discussed to each other, they were impressed by her concept. Hanson announced them that he would go on business trip to Japan to meet his big client next week, and he would take one person from the marketing department, he chose Marvin Guo since he had won the best achiever on last term. He also announced to take Candy with him too from the design department. That announcement had made Jolin Sun as her supervisor got upset, she asked directly to Hanson about it.
"Sir, don't you think it's too risky to take someone who didn't have enough experience to go with you to see big client ? I think it's a big responsibility for us to take ..."
Hanson wondered with her opinion "Who do you mean ? Candy ? She had some experience working in the USA before right ? And I think it's enough. Didn't you see her basic drafts just now ?"
Jolin tried to argue with him "Yes, but...."
He cut her off "OK it's enough, I don't want to hear any excuses again, I just want to give her a try this time. If there isn't anything else this meeting is dismiss now!"
Jolin was very upset with his decision and she planned something bad for her in her mind.
The secretary Ms. Lee told Candy to go to Hanson's room after the meeting ended. She met Marvin on her way to Hanson's room.
Marvin tried to guess who is she the beautiful young lady walking beside him "Hi, are you the newbie Ms. Candy Wu ?"
Candy got flattered, she didn't think she's that famous, she turned on him "Yes I am, may I know who you are ?"
"I'm Marvin Guo, I'm from the marketing depart. Do you want to go to CEO's office ?" he asked her back.
Candy nodded "Yes, are you ?"
"Yes, me too."
Candy curious to know why did the boss called her "Do you know why we've been called ?"
Marvin gave her a clue "I think it's about a new project."
Candy got curious more"Ouh, what project ?"
"We'll find out soon." Marvin didn't want to precede his boss, he let her got puzzled for a while.
When they got into Hanson's office he was still on the phone with someone, he told them to have a seat and wait a while.
Hanson greeted Candy after he put off his phone "Hi Candy, you must be wondering why I called you ?"
Candy so curious to know and she reported him her experience with her supervisor just now "Yes, I even got a glare from my supervisor when I walked here just now ! She even gave me a cold shoulder !"
Hanson laughed out loud "Haha.... don't worry. You must show to her your hard work then ! I called you just now because I want to inform you that you'll go with me for business trip to Osaka next week together with Marvin. We'll meet a big client there, it's a cosmetic company !"
Candy got surprised but she's very exciting , she had imagined about the trips in advance "Wow no wonder I felt someone's envious ! But why did you choose me sir ?"
Hanson replied her with encouragement but challenge her also "Because I was interested with your designs, I want to try something new and I want to give you a chance. Will you take it ?"
Candy replied him back confidently "Of course I will !"
Hanson tried to remind her about how big her responsibility is "Hahaha.... it's a big responsibility you know ? You have to show me your best so that I can show to your supervisor that you're worth it and my decision was right. Can you do it ?"
Candy excitingly replied him "Yes I can !"
"Good, I like your spirit ! Marvin are you ready too ?" Asked Hanson.
Marvin nodded "Yes sir, I'll do my best !"
"OK now you have to prepare well for your presentation, you only have three days before we go. Show me your progress everyday." Hanson ordered them to work hard.
Candy & Marvin spontaniously responded him "Yes sir !"
"OK you may go now" Hanson dismissed them.
Candy was very exciting to work after she left the CEO room, she didn't care with jealous look from her supervisor. Kelly went to her desk when she got back from the CEO room "Hey, what's wrong, why the CEO called you just now ?"
Candy responded her with big smile, she told her in whisper "Mr CEO gave me a big project from Osaka, I will go with him together with Marvin Guo in the next three days ! But don't tell anyone about it for now OK ?"
Kelly was very curious with her "Hey, this is a good news ! But why did you tell me in whisper ? You're suppose to be proudly tell to everybody ? Soon everybody will know it right ?"
Candy lower her speak to her "Sssh, someone is jealous now ! Don't rub salt into her wound for now ! I don't want to confront her at the moment. You know who right ?" she winked at her.
Kelly got her signal, she understood, she cross checked it with Jolin's frowned face "Got it !"
They got back to work again on their own until lunch break. Kelly went to the cafeteria together with Candy, they can talk freely now.
"So tell me more about the Japan project will you ?" asked Kelly curiously.
"I just heard from Mr CEO just now that we will handle an advertising project from cosmetic company in Osaka. Mr CEO will take me and Marvin to Osaka next week, we have to prepare our presentation and proposal in these three days. So, I'll be very busy from now on until we go to Japan next week. I won't pay any attention to her cold shoulder or her jealous look toward me. I'll do my best to show my work to Mr CEO."
Kelly gave her appreciation to her, she clapped her hands "Wonderfull ! Two thumbs up for you ! Go fighting girls ! I won't disturb you after this, I know you can do it, just beat her ! I support you !"
"Thank you !"
