Chapter 412: Chapter 412/56: Dungeon Experience

Arriving at the train station five stops away from where both Lilia and Kaido had departed, the both of them then finally arrived at the bustling side of the city wherein numerous people are working as an employee for a certain company. To be more precise the place where they had arrived from is a place where there are many office desk workers roaming about.
In this side of the city wherein many high rise building are being build in every corner, Kaido himself couldn't help but view it as a part of the city similar to Tokyo in Japan and Seoul in South Korea. Just like the bustling part of the city back on his world, such place were also teeming with people working not just office desk workers but also construction workers and other entertainment district workers (Mall, Pub, and other entertainment type works).
Upon seeing such a familiar scenery, Kaido then almost even forget that this world was completely not his own. Despite seeing such a scene calms him, he also felt lonely due to the fact that this isn't his world. In the end upon seeing that Kaido was spacing out, Lilia then quietly approached him from the side and snapped him back to reality.
"Hey! What's wrong? Why are you spacing out? Are you perhaps nervous?" teased Lilia
"Nervous my ass!!! Do you know how many guys i already killed?" asks Kaido in an annoyed expression
"What? You kill? Yes i do admit that your strong, but as far as I'm concerned, you haven't killed anyone yet... all your victims are still alive right? Don't mess with me! you can beat anyone but cant kill" said Lilia clearly not knowing anything about Kaido's past
Upon seeing Lilia completely oblivious of his deeds, Kaido was then completely taken aback as this was the first time someone had actually viewed him as a harmless person, after all throughout his journey, the people he met knew him as a person who kills and a psychopath at times. Even Ingrid is aware of his deeds, thus this kind of reaction was a first for him.
"If only you'd known" muttered Kaido to the point that Lilia couldn't hear it
With that Lilia then led him across the city until they reached the gathering point of all the players that was assigned for the dungeon in the area. Such place was a newly constructed building wherein the frames were the only thing yet to build.
As they sat their belongings to the side and Lilia quickly changing her clothes to her battle attire in the girls changing room, Kaido on the other hand simply stayed in his usual clothes with the grey hooded jacket in comparison to other male players around him who wore their own battle attire or armor. In other words he seem completely out of place among the crowds.
Due to that he even earned some scrutinizing gaze from other players from both male and female as they somehow deemed him as poor despite being a p-layer himself. Unfortunately Kaido completely ignored such gaze as he was currently admiring the fabric of Lilia's battle attire.
Such attire completely revealed her slender body shape as kaido even tried to poke her sides while feeling the texture of the attire. Naturally such indecent act made some of the male players envious while the female players glared at kaido for being a pervert in their eyes. But despite those internal comments, Lilia simply got confused towards Kaido's actions as she knew that he was just observing the fabric of her attire.
"Hey! stop feeling my attire! most of the people here are already deeming you as a pervert who openly touches a woman's body" warned Lilia as she was surprised herself to realize that she doesn't mind Kaido feeling her attire
"They would deem me as a pervert even thought I'm only feeling the fabric not your body?" asks Kaido
"Well yeah! your actions totally meant different in their eyes" said Lilia
"Then are you uncomfortable?" asks Kaido
"No... well i should be, but I'm surprisingly not" said Lilia with a slight blush
"That's because you knew my intentions" said Kaido
"But not them!!!" retorted Lilia
"Whatever! anyway, what type of fabric is this? the suit feels like its made out of thread, but its component is similar to a metal... the only variable that is closest to such properties is a nanotech machine... but this thing is not even that... how curious" analyzed Kaido
"I don't know... its a system generated combat suit... but what's a nanotech?" asks Lilia simply curious at that term that she heard for the first time
"You don't know? Well is the term given to those areas of science and engineering where phenomena that take place at dimensions in the nanometer scale, it utilized in the design, characterization, production and application of materials, structures, devices and systems"
".... What?" asks Lilia seemingly surprised by the explanation
"Well... I'm stating out the similarities of your suit in comparison to Metallic nanoparticles (MNPs) a metal core composed of inorganic metal or metal oxide that is usually covered with a shell made up of organic or inorganic material or metal oxide. Even thought it had its similarities on some parts, it also had some difference"
"I should've not ask?" muttered Lilia
"Well its complicated,..." said Kaido
"Like relationships?" asks Lilia
"Feelings and relationship is much more complicated" said Kaido
"I see"
While they were talkin g to each other, Shelly then finally arrived in her own combat suit as she was surprised to see Lilia getting acquainted to a guy aside from Allesandro within their circle
"Oya! Looks like your getting along with another male player outside our circle, did you perhaps changed your slight shy attitude?"
"Shelly?!?! When did you get here?" asks Lilia in surprise
"I just arrived, anyways who's this guy? this is the first time I've seen his face, especially to the fact that this is the first time I've seen a human with a red eyes like him" asks Shelly as she carefully observed Kaido
"Ah well this is Kaido! he recently just registered as a player during the weekdays, thus this is his first time experiencing the dungeon" said Lilia in a hurry as she quickly made up an excuse
"Oho! a rookie" said Shelly in Surprise
"As for the red eyes you can disregard such detail right? After all that is only a contact lens" said Lilia
"Contact lens? With color? What for? Is it for fashion? or do you have some kind of problem in your eye due to melanin loss?" asks Shelly
Upon hearing such question that is posed to the color of his eyes, Kaido then made up an excuse towards Shelly containing both fact and nonsense at the same time.
"Ah yes! This is a custom made contact lens for my eyes, after all ever since i was born, i had this type of genetic disorder which affected my eyesight as i grew up, thus resulting in what you see today" said Kaido
Hearing his answer, Shelly simply nodded in understanding as she became uninterested once more, before putting down her own belonging besides Lilia's bag. After that she turned around to face them as she gave a simple reply
"Anyways i don't care about your disability, as long as you don't hold us back then we wont have a problem"
After stating that, she then begun talking to Lilia about their objectives in this dungeon as a supervisor of some sort appeared in front of the gathered players as he give out a light encouraging speech before st6ating the fact that they plan to conquer this dungeon and forcefully shut it down. As for what will happen afterwards, the supervisor would like to keep it for himself.
Well Kaido couldn't care less on what the supervisor was hiding behind his words, after all he has his own agenda for joining this raid. If he somehow woke up inside a dungeon then he might somehow find some answers on why he was brought here and how he could get back, after all most of the situation the beginning of everything was also its end.
After awhile the operation then begun as he together withy Lilia and Shelly entered the dungeon itself.

Upon entering, what welcomed every player around the area was a huge labyrinth on a completely complicated scale. After all at the very starting point, they were then met with a huge wide hall which is big enough to fit a whole titanic with numerous passageways leading to different directions.
With such numerous passageways placed before them numbering about 24 all in all, which could maybe only one of them will lead to the boss and exit. Everyone then immediately guessed that the dungeon itself was planning to thin them out in terms of numbers, since all of the players that entered the dungeon totaled about 200 people.
Withy such situation, a huge com motion and discussion were then held within the circle of players as they discussed on what to do.
"What shall we do? should we split up?"
"Split up? if we do that then our numbers would completely thin out and show a lot of opening within our group... this is a perfect strategy to completely kill all of us 1 b y 1... I suggest that we stick together"
"I agree with you... but it will take us too long to finish the dungeon if we do that... we don't have that time and stamina"
"Indeed i don't think all of us could handle such strain"
"Either way is we split up or stick together, it will still strain us out as time pass by, thus thinning us out"
"Then what now? should we send out some scouts first?"
"That's a good and a bad idea at the same time"
"Why?"
"Well if we send out some scouts, it may somehow encounter some ambush and be killed along the way, which would then prevent information from reaching us... or it could get lost, after all i feel like we are in a maze like labyrinth"
"Well there goes our option"

As numerous players begun giving out their suggestions, Kaido and the rest on the other hand started to feel out every passageways that they faced. Even thought both Shelly and Lilia couldn't notice any irregularities in the passageways, Kaido himself knew just how much danger the passageway presents through his own detection by sending out small vibrations on the ground to serve as a sonar.
No matter where he faces, all 24 passageways inhibits strong monsters within, of course such monsters poses a threat to the players but not him.
In the end all of the players then decided to split into 24 groups as each group has a strong players within their ranks. With 24 groups each group would then consist of 8 members with an exception of 3 groups which would have 9 each. One of such groups that will have 9 members of course is Kaido's group.
In Kaido's group there is an Assassin, Hunter/ Scout, Priest, Saint, Guardian, Brawler, Mage, Swordsman, and an Esper which is him. If based on its gender the females are the Assassin, Hunter/Scout, Saint, and Swordsman. While the male of the group are the Priest, Guardian, Brawler, Mage, and Esper.
The strong person that was assigned on this group was none other than the Guardian himself who will be taking command of the group and somehow looks to be like in his early 40's, while the leader of the group is an old man in terms of age, the rest on the other hand are teenagers and early 20's to late 20's people. Of course Kaido belongs to the former including Lilia and Shelly
With everything set up, the Guardian then introduced himself before ordering everyone to head out.
"Good morning everyone! You can call me Gus, Ill be the leader of this group... if no one among has any question, then we will move out immediately"

Upon seeing the confident and reliable tone in his voice, everyone in the group then begun to calm down as they all followed him to their assigned passageway. With a tank in front of them, they would have nothing to worry about. Of course this only applies to the other people aside from Kaido, after all he had seen far more wretched battlefield to understand that such tank people aren't that worth much.

Walking on the third pathway on the right, the whole group were then currently walking along the dark path as Gus the very tank of the group was the front liner of the group. As a tank Gus warily observe the whole area as he walk forward in cautious steps. Due to his wariness, the rest of the group suddenly felt nervous all of the sudden as they followed his footsteps while being vigilant of their surroundings Even Lilia herself is being vigilant of their path, much less Shelly
The only person that was calmly walking along the pathway while staying at the very end of the group was Kaido himself, unknown to the whole group Kaido had already sensed the monster in the pathway seemingly noticing their presence and preparing an ambush at the depth of the pathway.
The pathway of course was slightly narrow to the point that only two people can walk in front side by side, with such a narrow pathway, having a huge or long weapon would be disadvantageous in such a terrain, due to that Gus himself who is the guardian of the group then quickly switched his weapon into a short sword as he moved forward.
As he continued to move forward, the whole group including Lilia and Shelly finally felt the presence of a hostile monster up ahead in the dark pathway. Upon sensing the monsters presence, Gus naturally held up his shield as he begun giving out orders towards everyone in his group.
Naturally Kaido was silently praising the group that they were able to sense the monster before its too late and get wiped out, unfortunately they sensed the monsters quite too late, to the point that the monster itself was able to hide in the darkness of the pathway. If only they were able to sense it beforehand, Kaido himself knew that the group would have been able to adjust in accordance in dealing against such monster.
"Someone! i need vision! Quick put out some lights" called out Gus
Hearing his ordered both the Saint and the priest within the group raised up their staff's as they voiced out their skills and shot out a twin orbital light ahead of the pathway. As the light travels across the hallway, they soon came to view a type of of a chimera which had a head of a lion and a tail of a snake, not much larger than a normal dining table.
Seeing the existence of a chimera, Gus then quickly alerted everyone.
"A Chimera v1! everyone into formation! I'll take the lead"
Hearing the guardian suddenly naming the monster, Kaido then suddenly asked.
"Chimera v1?"
"It stands for a variant 1 since there are many types of chimera according to player's encyclopedia" answered Lilia as she unsheathed her knife from her back pocket
As Lilia explained the name of the chimera towards Kaido, Gus himself quickly charged forward as he held up his shield and faced against the chimera.
Of course upon sensing an enemy attack, the chimera itself pounced towards Gus as it clawed its nails against its shield and tried to bite off his head, However when the Chimera pounced on him, Gus himself quickly drew his head back to avoid having his head being bitten off, as he pushed the Chimera off with his own strength and swung down his sword
Unfortunately the chimera quickly dodged his sword strike by moving side wards as he ran up to the wall and tried to get in behind the guardian, sadly Gus wouldn't just let it pass through him and aim towards its back liner as he quickly rushed to intercept the chimera and slammed its shield against it's face
"I wouldn't let you! Oryaa!!!!"
Smashing its shield against the chimera's face, the chimera itself then crashed against the wall of the pathway as it gnarled towards Gus and tackled him with a quick rush. With that Gus was then blown back by the rush as he quickly rolled to recover from the attack before charging forward as he slashed his sword.
This time however the Chimera jumped over Gus as it landed right behind him and slammed it's tail towards its nape. Of course it's tail consisted of a snake's head, thus when the chimera delivered such an attack, the snake head at the tip of its tail then snapped its mouth wide open and tried to plunged its fangs towards its target.
Such an attack might have been quite fatal if Gus fought the Chimera alone, unfortunately Gus came into the pathway with a team, thus when the snake head tried to plunged its fangs unto Gus, a barrier suddenly formed around him as it protected him from the bite. naturally the barrier came from the Priest of the group who was just in time to cast his barrier.
Taking such chance Gus quickly turned around as it swings its sword trying to cut off the chimera's tail as he stepped forward and quickly blocked the claw strike from the chimera's follow up attack.
Upon realizing that the Chimera's focus was entirely towards him, Gus then hurriedly gave out his next order.
"I got its aggro!!! Quick! deliver the follow up!"
Under his command both the priest and the saint quickly used another one of their skills as they binded the chimera to the floor, giving both the brawler and the swords swordswoman to quickly jump into the fray and execute a quick combo
"Blood Rush!!!"
"Sword dance!!!"
After that initial attack, the chimera all bloodied all over roared loudly causing a shockwave to vibrate across the air and successfully pushing back both the swordswoman and the brawler as it forcefully broke its binding. Unfortunately Shelly suddenly came into view as she threw a bola string which binded the Chimera's hind legs causing it top fall to the ground
"Bola throw!!!"
After that Lilia then appeared behind the chimera as she released a torrent of stab all across the chimera's back.
"Quick Stab!!!"
Right after stabbing the chimera for what seems about 5 times, Lilia then jumped back as a magic circle appeared before the chimera, causing a torrent of flames to erupt from that location.
"Fire Pillar!!!"
Hearing the cries of the monster, everyone then repeated the process for about 3 time's until they saw the chimera finally falling dead unto the ground.
