Chapter 2: Stridermech
The air vents out of Emmanuel's jockey's pod, from inside his Stridermech's which had its arm blown off. Emmanuel smiles, "I can do this just one shot."
He needs to score the magnetic coaster still attached to his Stridermech's other arm. The blast from the escaping air has pushed him off course.
Swurling in the vacuum of the hippodrome the crowd gasping at his loss of control. Emmanuel tries to patch the whole self sealing Trindium. The Trindium is sucked out too the hole being to big. Emmanuel is running out of time before the safety kick and auto ejects. He twists his jockey pod inside the mech so that the pod aligns with the hole. This works as the hole is blocked but now he has to manually compensate for his change in odd angle orientation.
He works feverishly bring up his onboard display. He opens up the control interface, it won't auto lock due the odd angle of his pod. He writes a config since using Strider code will take too long. Adjusting the shift in weight, the thruster flare. "Shit you idiot remember it's on your head!" He had forgotten that his Stridermech's arm is now his bodies head.
He flares the the thruster, which while fixing his angle is pushing out of bounds of the hippodrome. Focusing on his target a bigger coaster with three rings the smallest ring being for the win. Emmanuel full exhilaration as he fire his coaster direct into the center, hitting it as he floats out of bounds winning the obstacles race.
