Chapter 149: Monster invasion (342 words)

The explosion caused my entire body to vibrate from the shockwave and deafened my ears to the point where I could only hear a piercing ringing.
With blood dripping form my ears where my eardrums got torn apart, I shakily get on my feet.
Brushing away some of my black hair I inspect the chaos in which I found myself in.
'Sooo, I got no idea what's going on.' I think as my brown eyes trail over destroyed and burning buildings while the corpses of hundreds of people laid strewn out on the streets.
Rolling up the sleeves of my white bouse I walk over to one of the corpses that wore a military uniform.
'If I had to guess it seem to be some kind of invasion. Not sure yet if from other humans or nonhuman beings.' Calmly stripping the corpse off anything of use I soon found myself equipped with some military jacket and boots.
Inspecting the handgun and seven ten shot magazines I carefully place them in the pockets of the ammunition vest I stripped off the dead soldier.
'A handgun with 80 shots counting the already loaded magazine and a rifle with ten 15 shot magazines in total. There's also a knife and first aid supplies.' Nodding to myself in satisfaction over the great haul I looted this early into the game I perform a silent prayer thanking the nameless soldier for leaving such a bounty behind after his death.
Ready to explore for a bit I start following the trail of death along the street as my curiosity demanded me to take a look at the invaders.
'Many of the corpses have been savagely torn to pieces or turned to paste, meaning that it probably isn't a human invasion.' Thinking to myself I walk along with my new rifle at the ready.
Soon I hear roaring and screams over the explosions and ringing in my ears which is pretty impressive as I'm pretty sure I should be nearly deaf after what happened the moment I awoke.
