Chapter 3: Empire House
The way towards Empire House was long since they needed to fly on an airplane before getting even closer there.
Li Xiaoyue belatedly regretted not jumping out of the car when she found out they were going to be traveling for hours from London to Beijing. The things a woman could do to get a man was simply too terrifying. Especially, if that girl was Hu Mimi.
The sun was already out, peeking from the clouds in the sky while Li Xiaoyue wished she could go back on her bed in London and sleep.
As soon as they got off the plane and walking at the airport, people started to swarm them. Cameras flashing in the air and some people started to hold out their phones to record.
Suddenly, Hu Mimi waved a hand towards the crowd and the crowd went frenzy. Screaming at the top of their lungs and reaching their hands out to have a slight touch.
"Mimi!!"
"Marry me, Mimi!"
"You look so beautiful today!"
Unfortunately, Hu Mimi was protected by several guards who appeared out of nowhere and Liu Xiaoyue stopped the urge to roll her eyes.
It's been a year since she saw this kind of treatment Hu Mimi was getting but still, it was horrifying when your best friends with an A-list actress who won a few awards internationally and in the Mainland.
She looked around to see familiar faces but Li Xiaoyue didn't see anyone and felt relieved. She wasn't ready to face anyone at that moment. Not when her past cut too deep to her bones.

"I think this is a bad idea." Li Xiaoyue said, putting her hands on her hips, trying to look condescendingly.
"Why not?" Hu Mimi asked while tucking the stray hair in the back of her ear.
Li Xiaoyue imagined their destination to be a restaurant or a luxury hotel but who would have imagined that the 'Empire House' was a mega yacht filled with influential people.
Li Xiaoyue looked at her surroundings weirdly. Who could blame her? The first time Hu Mimi told her that their destination was Empire House, the first thing she thought was a house then, a restaurant and another, a luxury hotel.
But No. It was a mega yacht that doesn't look and sound like a House nor did it started from H.
"A yacht." Li Xiaoyue paused, "You're telling me you made me travel for 10,000 kilometers and 10 hours of flight in the air just so we could swim in the sea?"
Hu Mimi was petrified at her best friend's words, "Don't jinx us, Xiaoxiao."
Li Xiaoyue pursed her lips, trying to stop the harsh words she wanted to say. Complaining to her best friend wasn't good when everything's done and she's now standing on the 'Empire House'.
Especially, when Hu Mimi was the hysterical type who would faint once she saw a shark swimming in the water while watching movies.
She sighed a couple of times and snatched a glass of champagne from a passing waiter. Taking the drink with two large gulps.
"Hey, ladies. Do you want to have some fun?"
"Nope. We've got enough fun here." Li Xiaoyue snatched another glass of champagne before shooing them away.
After a while, Li Xiaoyue finally asked, "So, where's your knight and shining armor? The beast in your beauty?"
Hu Mimi ignored her and kept looking around with her hands on her phone, waiting for a message or call from her new beau.
Suddenly, from the crowd of people dancing and partying hard in front, an attractive man suddenly emerged and was walking towards their way.
He was clad in an Armani suit and shoes. He was undeniably attractive and with every girl's eyes on him and the way he walked with confidence, the man knew that he's stealing a few hearts from everywhere.
When the man finally stopped in front of them, Li Xiaoyue noticed the first thing she remembered about him. Chocolate eyes = Fu Meng.
