Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Not Alone

--- 2 years later ---

It's 12 in the afternoon on a Saturday. The Moon Village is lively. In the middle of the village is a beautiful fountain a wolf is howling as water comes out of its mouth. In front of the mountain a 9 year old girl is standing there. Her hair was white as snow and ended at her waist. She was wearing a black tank top with dark blue jeans. She was looking at the sky and the looked down closing her eyes and sighed. 'He's late.' She thought. A couple of minutes passes by until she heard someone calling her name.

"Rose!" A boy comes running toward her. Just as he get close he skids to a stop right in front of her. He Ben's down placing his hands on his knees, panting trying to catch his breath. He looked up and said, "I'm sorry Rose for being late! Training took longer than I thought. Forgive me?" She looked at the boy and saw he was still wearing his specialized training clothes which consisted of a black tank top that fitted to his upper body and white shorts. What made them special was that the shirt and shorts had weights built into them even though you couldn't see them. She saw his jet black hair all messed up. As she looked him up and down and looked him in the eye to see him giving her puppy eyes. She sighs again and stretches out her hand, places it on his and messes up his already messed up hair and smiles.

"Don't worry about it. Your here now that's all that matters. Let's make the most of the time we have now." Rose said. Jin smiled back. Rose removes her hand from his head and they both start walking around the village. As they look around talking and laughing about trivial things. They stop by an ice cream vendor. Once they get there ice cream they found a bench under a tree and sat there. They sat there in silence until Rose spoke.

"So your birthday is a week away. Are you excited?" Rose asked.

"Yes! I'll be 7 years old!" Jin answered happily but then he got a bit depressed. "But..." Rose looked at Jin and waited patiently for him to continue. "I'm scared. What if... I don't survive the ceremony?"

"Jin." Rose waited until Jin looked at her. "You will survive. You strong. Besides you are not alone. Your family will be there every step of the way. So there's nothing to worry about. "Rose stated.

"I wish you could be there Rose." Jin said.

"I'm not family." Rose said. "I know but -" Rose interrupt up him. " Not only am I not family but I am not part of the pack. Don't worry Jin once you complete your ceremony I'll come by on your birthday after all I have already bought you a present. I want to see your face when you open it. Hehe!" Rose giggled. Jin pouted but then smiled and laughed with her. Once they finished their ice cream they continued walking around. By the time they headed back to the fountain the sun was already setting.

"So I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked Rose. Rose shook her no before he could ask why she said, "It's better that you focus on your training since your birthday is close. I can already tell that you are in pain just walking today. " Jin was about to argue "Ok maybe not in pain but your body feels uncomfortable right?" Rose asked.Jin hesitates before he nods. He looked at Rose confused as to how she knew. "I'm your best friend silly! Of course I can te if something is wrong with you. Did you forget that I'm 2 years older than you. So I went through the same thing you are going through. " Jin nodded a bit embarrassed. "So just rest and focus on your training and once your ceremony is over you wont have to feel this pain anymore. "

"Ok." Jin said. "I'll see you on my birthday Rose." Rose nodded and started walking away. "Stay safe on your way home Rose!" Jin yelled. She raised her hand and waved, "I will. You too. Stay strong. " she said. He stayed there until he couldn't see her anymore. Then he went home. Time passed as he trained and rested until Friday came.

Jin had woken up because pain shouted from his spine to his toes. But just as it came it disappeared. As he stretched to feel out his body his body ached everywhere. He slowly got up from his bed. As he did his body started feeling hot. As each second passed his body temperature rose tell the felt like he was burning. He laid back down trying to calm down until he couldn't take it anymore and screamed. His door snapped open and his parents ran in. Jin sits by his side and says, "It's going to be ok. Just take deep breaths." She looked at her husband and said, "Go get some towels and wet them in cold water and bring them. " He nodded and did what she said. Jin felt as if he was burning alive but tried to listen to his mother. His father comes back with the wet towels. She grabbed one and started patting him on his body with the wet towel to try to cool him down.

Couple of hours passed and Jin calmed down. he was still a bit warm and his body ached but it was tolerable. "A little better?" Jin's mother asked. Jin nodded. Jin's father spoked.

"Jin I need you to listen to me. It will get worse and me and your mother will try to help you but there will be a point where we can't help you. Your gonna face your wolf and make him submit to you. Also not just the wolf but control the darkness that will come at your weakest moment. " Jin nodded. "Remember you are not alone and your strong." Jin's father said.

"I know. I will make it. " Jin said reassuringly.
