Happy Memories
Mei Zheng's thoughts traveled to her lovely daughter. The beautiful star that lights her dark life, the only thing left for her. But in the end, she is chose the darkness.
Mei Zheng thought about all the moments she shared with Mei Xing. Although she was full of regrets that she could not give her daughter a happy household to live in, she was happy to have had her.
Mei Zheng laughed self-deprecatingly, she was selfish. Why was she happy that her daughter was forced to live in fear of her father. Forced to fear the next time he comes through he front door reeking if alcohol because the only thing that leads to is pain! Why did she put Mei Xing through that tragedy?
Well, it won't be her problem for much longer. She was leaving this earth and going to find whatever awaits her in her next life. Maybe she would one day cross paths with her little girl in another life. Maybe in the next life she will be able to fill Mei Xing's life with more joyful memories, like the time she had taught her how to ride a bike. Or maybe like the time when they had gone shopping together, or did each other's makeup.
Recalling the few happy memories that she had, she slipped into the bathtub. She shed a few tears in remembrance of her tragic life, then she went quietly under the surface of the water.

Mei Xing jolted upwards in her bathtub. It was pitch black outside and the warm water had become ice cold. The cold water felt like a thousand needles that penetrated Mei Xing's skin, hitting her with icy clarity. It helped her clear her mind of her mother and numb her bruises.
Slowly, Mei Xing grabbed her fluffy towel and got out of the tub. She dried herself and put on a fresh set of clothes. Feeling began to return to her body and she began to shake in pain. She stumbled messily into her bed and threw on her covers before falling into a deep slumber.
