Love Story Gone Bad
It was shocking to think that the place where she watch TV and played on her phone was the same place where her mother was abused and violated. The place where she felt safe as she slept became a place of nightmares and cruelty for her mother.
Mei Xing waved away her thoughts and checked her mother's breathing. It was shallow, and even her 15 year old self could tell that things weren't looking good. Mei Xing forced herself up to her feet, but her knees wobbled and her legs gave up on her. She fell to the floor and had to messily crawl over to her vanity.
She reached up to grab her phone and call the police, as she should have done many years ago, but that's when she caught the sight of her father's silhouette against her doorframe. She tried to dial the number despite the looming shadow of her father, but her fingers shook too violently to make any useful progression in calling for help.
Chang Fan let out a sigh and calmly walked over to his daughter, ripping the phone out of her hands. The harshly threw it against the wall and stomped on it before tossing it out the window.
"Nice try Xing, but it's just out little happy family tonight." Chang Fan picked up his daughter easily and threw her into the closet and locked it. Mei Xing promptly fainted from stress and was knocked out for the rest of the night. Chang Fan turned over to his wife and brought her into their shared master bedroom.
He placed Mei Xing onto their bed and let her rest for a while. After sharing a moment with his wife, although it was forced, he became more gentle. It was as if he became a different person for that night. After a few hours, he gently woke his wife and fed her porridge. She feared his kindness even more than his anger because she knew it was simply the calm before the storm. However, she was too weak and afraid to resist him and allowed him to tend to her wounds and needs.
Eventually he laid down next to her and fell asleep. The room was filled with the sound of his snores. Quietly, Mei Zheng slipped out of bed and snuck into the restroom. She filled the tub with water as she thought of her daughter and her husband.
Chang Fan has been her high school sweetheart. They had fallen in love and everything seemed perfect. However, not everything is as it seems. Mei Zheng was actually quite well off. Her parents owned a business that did quite well. They showered her in name brand clothing and bags, and she had multiple million dollar cars. She was willing to share it all with the man whom she believed was the love of her life.
Once they finally got married and his interests were set, the abuse began. It started off with innocent insults that she found relatively funny at the time. She allowed him to continue laughing at her until the insults became aggressive. When she tried to stop him gently, he ignored her. Eventually Mei Zheng got fed up and firmly told him to stop. That's when he slapped her for the first time. Of course he apologized afterwards and she forgave him, otherwise she would not be in the same situation she was in today.
Mei Zheng have birth to a beautiful baby girl after a while. She decided to name her Mei Xing which means "beautiful star."
Her parents gifted their family the large 4 story marble house that they still lived in today. In the beginning, the home was filled with laughter and joy. However, all good things must come to an end, and this good thing came crashing down indeed. The house that once echoed the laughter of a happy couple and young child began to echo the sound of abuse and screams of agony.
