Mortal Realm - Peak of Singing Wind Mountain
A small bell rang to signal the arrival of someone and the certain someone could have came in silently if he had wanted to, but this was his daughter's space, and there was no need of any secrecy within family. The bell was a courtesy to signal the arrival of Gold Peach Clan members.
"DiE, any news of great grandmother?" A veiled lady, only showing her beautiful titled eyes with a gold flower decoration, HuaTian, in the middle of her forehead, asked her father who had just returned. MiYue only had found out not long ago when she was called for the emergency family meeting. At first MiYue thought it would be about her missing cousin, LiXue, who had been missing for centuries already.
Who knew it was such drastic news - great grandmother and her newly found niece, LiXue's daughter, were both missing. To know that LiXue had a child was a big shock to the family and before even unraveling who was the father of her child, the child herself went missing. Tragedy ah!
MiYue had not met LiXue's daughter but only seeing her on the Magical Mirror of Communication briefly before her niece's attention was called by her great grandparents. Their family seemed to be very doting to this little girl but now she's missing somewhere in the mortal realm, being reborn as a mortal. Looking for the little niece in the burgeoning human population would be like looking for a needle in the hay but it is not impossible too.
"MiYue, what was considered as your foolhardiness will not come to benefit our clan. Use your TianDao sect to find your niece, while we and the other elders will look for great grandmother. I worry this is bigger than whatever we had faced before," HuoYue solemnly told his daughter.
"For now, I will take your mother back to Heavens so all the sisters can be together. Daughter, you have to be careful." HuoYue looked at his beautiful daughter in concern and added awkwardly, "Do not fall for the wiles of any males mortal or immortals. Your mother and I are worried that you haven't settle down yet."
"DiE, please don't say embarrassing stuff! Just because Niang is not here, you don't have to repeat her words. Don't worry about me, even though I don't have the Mirror Concealment Face, I have many face skin disguises. Every generation of mortals have seen a different me when I do my work."
"I know my daughter is very capable. Your Niang reminded you to take that potion and that period of your... you know and DiE now have to leave." Just as HuoYue came, he left abruptly, leaving his daughter awkward beyond words.
To have your father tell you to not be promiscuous and abstain due to their unique Peach Clan female trait was truly embarrassing. All the Peach Clan fairies were married off when they reach ripening stage, as they would give out strong vibes to males. Since MiYue had not wanted a prearranged marriage like her twin sister, and was the only unattached female, the clan had developed a special concoction to stall MiYue's ripening.
Standing by the balcony, looking at the sparkling crystalline water streaming down like moving curtain, MiYue looked as if she was entranced, lost in her thoughts. It was YunMeng, her twin's YueMi's sister-in-law, the sister of the Water Dragon Clan leader, who had found this place, a cavern hidden by a waterfall.
MiYue liked the sound of the waterfall and had made this into hers and her partner, YunMeng's base in the mortal realm. Even when she had assumed the role of the pavilion master (JiaoZhu) of the TianDao Sect, only the trusted key members know where JiaoZhu's abode was.
"YueEr, I'm back!" A feminine came into the room where it was forbidden for the other sect followers to enter the JiaoZhu's main room.
"MengEr, hows the mission?"
"Thank goodness the small ones were imprisoned by the waters, so it was easy to retrieve them. Those wolves would have easily detected you with your scent," YunMeng smirked. YunMeng was a Water Dragoness, and water was her element, so saving those sect followers was considered an easy mission for YunMeng.
"All these years of chasing each other and that time in Xue's general manor...Was it not that I was called for my family meeting, I would have caught the clan's youngest child." The glint in MiYue's eyes showed her competitive nature.
Few days ago, YueMi has overheard her uncle talking to her father, HuoYe, about a clanswoman of the elusive Crimson Wolf, and was no other than their leader's youngest sheltered granddaughter, who had ran away from her clan.
The Gold Peach Clan had known of the existence of the Crimson Wolf but they could not make sure where the exact location of the Crimson Wolf base was. Once in few centuries, they would have find something about Crimson Wolf but the latter would disappear again.
The Gold Peach Clan had always worked cautiously, even though they could go invisible mode and could even elude strong immortals, they had never overestimated their skills. There were instances whereby some very high cultivated immortals who could detect their existence and one of these beings were the Crimson Wolf. Thus, the Gold Peach Clan and the Crimson Wolf clan had been hide and seek game, tracking and scouting each other, but both had successfully circumvented since they came to Earth.
The tip about the Crimson Wolf clan leader's daughter, made MiYue energetic, wanting to catch the little pup. None of her forebears was able to, but during the day MiYue wanted to go catch the Wolf pup, her father suddenly appeared and MiYue knew something had happened by how anxious he had looked.
Her father, HuoYe, had located MiYue by the clan's Scrying Compass. Once he found MiYue in the forest, he quickly gave her the news tersely. It was then MiYue found out her niece, LiHua, had jumped into the pool of Reincarnation and went into the Wheel of Lifetimes without permit. This was unheard of and LiHua's mortal incarnation was unascertained and indefinite where she would be born into.
MiYue quickly went with her father to meet up with the other family member to discuss the possibilities of LiHua's location, only leaving behind the task of capturing the Crimson Wolf's child to YunMeng and her TianDao's senior followers. Who knew some junior followers tagged along and got caught by the Crimson Wolf.
By the time MiYue returned by the base, she only found out about YunMeng's message of going off the save the junior followers. Each TianDao members were given a discreet small firework to shoot up into the air when they were in distress and needed help. It was only the junior followers fortitude that YunMeng caught sight of it and was able to do the extraction by the waters.
"Hmpf, this time around, they have a very powerful snake demon. Even if your elders were there, I doubt you will be able to escape unscathed! Anyways, since when we changed the target to the Crimson Wolf? Didn't your elders tell to steer clear of this dangerous clan?" YunMeng scoffed, she knew this because Uncle HuoYe specifically reminded YunMeng to discourage YueMi from this wild goose chase.
What of that bratty pompous immortal, the leader of Eastern Righteous Alliance? That vain boy, thinking he's so great. Even his name is outrageous - MengTian. What a joke, I really want to show up and give him a wake up call." YunMeng could not stop sneering when she said the name aloud, when she handed in the report of MengTian to YueMi.
"That snake demon... we need to find out more about him but you are right, this is not the right time." YueMi took the report and casually glance through them, "MengTian hasn't done much for us to grace our presence for him. He's just an ignorant child recruiting weak ones to join his cause to rebel."
"That mortal LaoHai must be blind to help MengTian."
"LaoHai is a blindly loyal, serving a fool just because of his forefathers had sworn into servitude." YueMi shook her head while she made the reports disappear.
"Sigh, maybe we can find those servant documents and do LaoHai a favor. A simple thing to do and we can eliminate MengTian before he does real harm to other humans." YunMeng went to the chaise lounge and snapped her fingers for silk cushions to appear.
"I don't think it will advance to that state and we can always send you to persuade LaoHai." YueMi eyed the previous clean and organized room becoming untidy mess with the large wooden chaise becoming an eyesore for her.
"You don't think that brainless child won't advance to that stage? Haven't you seen how second hand stupidity is the killer? Didn't we see through the history of human? How many has it been? 150years ? 200years?" YunMeng satisfied with how the the chaise was filled with opulent silk fripperies, plopped down to soft sea of cushions and continued,
"Can't keep count... how many emperors in Cai kingdom already? 6? Do we need to count in the one that sat only 2 months? Anyways, the point is these human petty wars were caused by certain mortals who had too much time to daydream of power. And how many innocent human died for this pipe dreams? What grabbing the throne to what rightful lands belonging to them?"
YueMi strode over to the chaise and gave tea for YunMeng to drink from her tirade. As she walked back to the balcony, her brows furrowed while she had a bad feeling, "anything on my missing niece?"
"We have already expanded our network to all kingdoms, even to Quan, but there's no news on any overly beautiful or talented child. Hmm...The celestials have also made a move but that was due to the complain by Lady MengPo but the Crimson Wolf is also sniffing around ... do you think...?"
"There's too many different forces at play this time, and this interference from the Crimson Wolf is very untimely. Let the Celestials do their search, who knows they can be help. But, let's keep an eye on the wolves and that strong snake demon you encountered in Sheng kingdom."
"Moving to mortal realm with you is truly fun! There's never a day that I'm bored!" YunMeng said happily.
"Look at how you behave. The dragon princess has terrible female decorum. Your brother will always think I'm a bad influence." MiYue sighed looking at YunMeng rolling around with her legs up as if she was floating in the sea where she belonged.
