Chapter 46: Chapter 3 it's better to rely on yourself than on the help of others

it's better to rely on yourself than on the help of others; if you want a thing done well, do it yourself

During autumn, the countryside mountains was crowned with leaves in vivid bright colours like a sea of brilliant scarlet red, yellow and flame orange, attracting many affluent Xue Kingdom families to their countryside residences to enjoy the scenery and the cool and crisp weather.

General Murong XieChu promised his daughter and with his entourage, came to the countryside and to his delight, his daughter who had been morose grew excited when she saw the beauty of the nature. Murong LiWang leapt out of her carriage, ran towards the grassland, and twirled around, making her father and her caretakers smile. Everyone saw how the little child glowed and could not take their eyes off from her basking under the sun in pure happiness.

In the afternoon, Murong LiWang heard that by the lake, she could enjoy the majestic mountain view, and after letting YuQin know where she was going, she swiftly went about and leapt on the branch of tall trees. From one tree to another with her new QingGong skills, making her shadow guards follow closely about, when she came upon a scene of what it seemed to be the strong bullying the weak.

From her angle, Murong LiWang could see the silhouette of a small and skinny boy in an old frayed brocade robe, being overshadowed by two bigger sized children.

"You mutt! Your mother was nothing then and you are nothing now! Don't even stain us with your existence!"

"Ge (big brother), lets just leave him already," the middle sized one piped and looked out the area.

A noble's child or a royal prince? LiWang could not differentiate: rich and educated behaved the same as the street ruffians alike these she saw previously. Within the trees, Murong LiWang continued to observe the trio of boys below and shook her head when the smallest size boy was taunted and pushed around.

"Spineless!" the biggest size boy looked impatient at the smallest boy's indifference attitude and shoved him into the pond.

Seemed like these children had some martial skills for the big boy to be able to push the small boy further into the lake, away from the shore. Even with the thinned-out clothing, the brocade robe would weigh down the small boy.

Murong LiWang took a few leaps from her spot and went to the edge of the lake once the 2 boys left the scene. She saw the boy struggled to get out of the lake, seemed like his legs were caught within the long, greenish and tentacled Hydrilla plant. With her keen senses, she could feel there were other children playing nearby, hearing their footsteps and the rustling foliage.

She was waiting for those children to run over but as she squatted next to the lake, thinking 'Sigh, this boy is hopeless', the boy in the water seemed to panic, and in his anxious struggle, his situation in the lake seemed to worsen in every second that tick by. Murong LiWang frowned when she saw the boy gurgling, and without any ado, she shocked her shadow guards, who were still within the trees when she took off her mask and jumped into the water.

'Water is cold!'

The lake was not very deep but the prolific weed like plant was sharp and thick, it took Murong LiWang time to untangle the almost drowned boy foot from the mess.

She came up back to surface for a breath and dragged the boy with his hair undone with her. While the boy heaved, LiWang helped him by thwacking his back, with her small palms, making him cough out the excess water from his lungs.

"Unless you want to be fish food, you have to be stronger. Let me tell you what I have learnt – human nature is not as nice as I had thought, not at the time someone can help you so you have to be strong so others will not be able to bully you again." Putting back on her mask swiftly to conceal her features, Murong LiWang finished with her pep talk in her sweet childish voice and did not look back.

How would she know, that this day, to what was a normal saving another action for her, was a life and fate changing course for others.

The boy looked up and barely managed to catch a glimpse of his saviour before she leapt away.

'She's a girl!' Younger than him and very cute, cuter than any of his sisters and the small court attendants. His young heart thumped and beat faster but he took it as surviving a near death experience.

As the small boy was lying down on the grass, trying to settle his breaths, and coming to terms in surviving a near death experience, a small cute girl with cute side buns, came out, running briskly and cried out to her friends, who were playing nearby the woods.

"Ah! Help! Someone come! There is someone who fell into the lake!".
