Yuan LeiFeng jumped up to the top Mount Tai and sighed before he walked into the Court of Wheel of Rebirth. He was apprehensive about what was to become of him. Facing dangerous battles, constantly challenged in life and death, those he was unafraid, he knew his strengths and was confident to overcome obstacles. Love. Love was an unknown entity and emotion. Trying to distract himself from thinking about what he could not control, he went on to think of war strategies methods, and soon he was in front of MengPo. The court attendants were aware of his status, and with his high status, they had let him cut the queue and go through the very important being, also known as VIB, line, directly to the pool.
MengPo, an elderly immortal, with her silver hair pulled back into a bun, looked haggard and overworked. She looked up at the new VIB in her court, she grinned at the handsome newly titled God of War, "Human trial before becoming High God?"
Yuan LeiFeng, a god of few words and even fewer to the females, merely nodded.
MengPo was not slighted and went to pour and pass him the bowl of her special brew, which she named it as Bittersweet Broth of Oblivion. She understood a lot of beings became very morose when they were in her court.
Just as Yuan LeiFeng received his brew, suddenly, that familiar alluring smell that tugged at his heart came to his notice. He had almost missed it as it seemed to be layered on with another scent -an unwashed body scent, such as like his soldiers. Yuan LeiFeng having missed many opportunities in the past to encounter the being with the peach blossom scent, in desperation, used all his senses and zoned in on a petite figure. It was a court attendant with plain features, one that you would pass by and not look back, but somehow his instincts told him, the boy was in a disguise.
Yuan LeiFeng panicked when he saw the boy widened his big expressive eyes and tried to turn and walk away. He felt if he had let him got away, he might not get another chance to meet this creature. There was a nagging feeling deep in his soul, he or she was very special but he was not sure himself of why too. Nonetheless, he could not lose this creature that beckoned to his soul, he quickly rushed to grab the boy's arms to stop him from leaving. Yuan LeiFeng felt a small electric current when he had in contact on the boy, holding his fragile wrist. Then when the boy's luminous eyes looked up towards him, his inner core shook.
LiHua had found out that Yuan LeiFeng was to undergo his human trials, and she quickly went to the Court of Wheel of Rebirth in Mount Tai. She had to get that Book of Creatures before he left for who knew when till. She was told that Mount Tai, was one of few neutral courts for all creatures and beings, be those of good or evil, mortal or immortal, celestials or devils, to register and to go into the stream of reincarnation wheel and go into birth in the mortal realm. It was also taught to her that the beings whom would enter the rebirth, would be given the Bittersweet Broth of Oblivion, a mystic brew, which she prepares for the souls of the dead before they head for the reincarnation door. One sip of her Bittersweet Broth of Oblivion, the beings would lose all memory of who they were to ensure a clean slate once they were reborn.
It was all very scintillating to the ever-curious little fairy, she saw how the beings had tokens to enter or some were led in by authorized attendants, she realized it might not be as easy as she thought. Then an idea came to her. LiHua went to a corner and hid herself she made some pitiful sounds. She patiently waited for an attendant to patrol over and when he neared, she quickly rendered him unconscious with her palm, a trick her grandfather taught her, calling it Shadow Palm. Then using her Amulet of Disguise, she quickly changed her features to her victims and pulled off the attendant uniform, while looking away modestly. It took her some time to this task and she hated the male scent on the uniform.
LiHua followed the queue for the new shift of attendants and went to stand near the middle of the long line, a bevy of all kind of beings, all queuing for their turn of rebirth. When she spotted Yuan LeiFeng, it seemed that she was already too late as he was given the bowl of the Oblivion brew. LiHua was disappointed and was about to turn to leave when she was surprised when Yuan LeiFeng stared at her with intensity and she quickly turned away, worried he would blow her cover. As soon as she tried to walk away, giving up the idea of BaiZi's book, suddenly, someone grabbed her and she almost cried out.
"You…", a hoarse voice said to her, she looked up and saw it was Yuan LeiFeng. He opened his mouth a few times trying to say something. She felt a little awkward as she knew both of them had never been introduced, so she tried to be friendly and said, "I'm here to ask something from you but I understand now that this is not a good time".
Her eyes resonated with his whole being and her smile almost made him a little silly, but he caught her meaningful glance towards his back. MengPo had walked forth from her station, wondering what had caused the High God to waver.
LiHua was rendered speechless when Yuan LeiFeng looked conflicted, looking deeply at her, while MengPo scolded him to quickly drink and do not delay the process. Yuan LeiFeng felt he could not look away from her eyes, bright and expressive with flecks of gold, and her words about now was not a good time rang in his head. Wryly, with the brew in his hand, he pleaded with her, "Wait for me, will you? I will return. Just wait for me?".
He must finish his trials and return as quickly to find her.
LiHua looked at him dumbly and nodded woodenly. Yuan LeiFeng looked pleased and he swiftly drank the brew in one gulp. LiHua was still rooted when another attended nudged her to do her supposed work. She looked at the attendant blankly, unsure what had transpired and what to do next.
