One month later...
In a pure white room, there was a basin with black things in it.
" Test 33 experiment synchronize attempt 79. Activation in 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...activate." Luke said looking toward a glass window in the white room. He pulls a lever. The black things started to vibrating and started to fly. A million wings moving as one. The black things moved like a swarm as they did figure eights but, as the test went on the flys started to move out of formation. Some of them flew completely out of the swarm. Luke pulled the lever back as the flys return to the basin.
" Another failure..." Luke mumbled as he wrote in a notebook.
" You are amazing making a fly that is smaller than a dime that is designed to create an object. You just need to work out the formation and synchronize A.I systems. I recommend that you stop making changes to the model and jobs that the A.I has to calculate it could overload the system." Ms. Sten said.
" It has a hive-mind so it's trying to direct every single one do its job. It's trying to find the best way. After, ever test the A.I. is that much is closer to perfecting its process." Luke said typing code in a program.
" You know its time for you to go to school. Your "sick" leave is over. You haven't left the lab in a month I hope you have a good reason to tell your parents. Oh yeah, I almost forget here." Ms. Sten said giving Luke a package. " This is your first payment. You have to be responsible for this. Have a good day at school. Ms. Sten said as Luke walked to the door as he put on the hoodie.
A few hours or so later. Luke is sitting in class in his uniform as his teacher was giving a lecture. Luke was writing in his notebook as the teacher but not writing notes but, blueprints. The bell ring. All the students rush out of the room as Luke put his things away. His teacher grabbed his notebook. The teacher said nothing but started looking through the notebook. Luke was annoyed.
The teacher closed the notebook looking disappointed. " I expected this from an art magnet, not you. You are a phenomenal artist but one thing is wrong why are you doing this in my class. You need to take notes like everyone else." The teacher said.
" Sorry, sir but, I'm trying to complete the project from my part-time job. It will not happen again. Can I please have my notebook back." Luke said with his hand out as the teacher put the notebook in his hand. The teacher looked annoyed.
" Don't let it happen again." The teacher said giving Luke back the notebook.
In the student council office.
" I've finished the plans for the concert next month." A girl said with glasses and blonde hair with brown eyes. She dropped papers on a desk.
" Thank you, Delilah. Have you study for middle terms?" The President said with a smile as he looked through the paper she gives him.
"Yeah, but one of my teachers isn't having a written exam include having a speech so, I have to write myself a speech," Delilah said sitting in a chair. " So why hasn't Luke come to the meetings. He hasn't sent in his papers yet."
The door opened with it was Luke. Luke smiled as he closed the door behind him.
" Oh, Nice to see that you feel better." The President said.
" Well, I do feel a little tired but, yeah good to see you too. So I finish those papers that you ask me for her..." Luke said being interrupted by a Delilah jumping in for a hug.
" Where have you been. I've missed you so much. By the way, you seem bigger." Delilah said while she let go of Luke.
" Oh, I've been eating a lot more than I usually do so, of course, I gained weight," Luke said hastily.
" Okay, since the meeting over. You want to go out for coffee or something." Delilah said blushing.
" Oh, um I don't know if I can. I had pla..." Luke said blushing being interrupted by Delilah.
" That's great we can live now," Delilah said dragging Luke outside.
A few minutes later. At a cafe called " Family's Brew" in the back of the cafe are Delilah and Luke.
" So..." Luke said awkwardly looking at his cup of coffee.
" So why have you not been asking my texts?" Delilah said annoyed.
" Oh, I've been busy with the new job and getting sick and all," Luke said.
" But, you can at less text me " Hey " now and again. I'm your girlfriend and all." Delilah said.
" What when did I say you were my girlfriend. You may have confessed to me but, I haven't given you my answer yet." Luke said.
" I mean, I didn't really confess but, when I kiss you. You didn't stop me." Delilah said.
" Look we were at a party and I really don't remember what happened at it. Okay so I have to go I will be late for something very important." Luke said getting up and walking away.
" Whatever. You may have been drunk but, I wasn't so I remember everything that happens that night." Delilah said blushing.
At the Health Center of Hawks.
"So why do you guys think you are here?" A man wearing a black t-shirt said sitting in a circle with five other including Alexis.
" I think we are here because we were addicted to blacksnow," Alexis said a little annoyed.
" Were? You sound like you are okay with the fact that you use an illegal drug. Why is it okay for you to think that you are not addicted to it." The man said.
" Because I don't need blacksnow to solve my problems. I've already gotten over what happened." Alexis said.
" What happened for you to start using it." The man said.
" Fine whatever I guess I can tell you," Alexis said with a somber expression.
A few hours later.
Alexis walked out of the room wiping her eyes. Luke was sitting in the waiting room. Alexis smiled as she saw Luke.
Luke getting up as Alexis was in his arms. " Are you okay? You look like you were crying."
Alexis hugged Luke tighter as she said. " Yes, I'm okay now."
