Chapter 3: The Great Escape

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Calm your head.

At a time like this, is the greatest moment a Shounen protagonist will surely fail. What not being caught like a deer across the headlights. A level-headed composure, hopefully, that excruciatingly painful monk training paid successfully.

Oh, don't make a mistake. You won't realize, just what kind of opportunities as an Animator could pass up. It didn't necessarily have to cope up in an office cubicle all the time. Experiencing is the knowledge they said.

They staring warily at me, ready to strike at any slight of a twitch from their target.

I need to get out of this immediately, there's no telling if they're waiting for some kind of spell to be chanted, or Archer to be in positioned and snipe me away. I won't take any chances in this unknown world where apparently magic exists.

"Now, now, just be a good boy, and turn's up," Placate one of them, with a carefree tone that exudes confidence as my struggle won't even scratch and touch them. Weak, there's no need to be in alarm or maybe it was just the personality of the dark-skinned girl.

Oh, with her bare clothing she could pass up as a stripper. The kind of clothes you found in Cleopatra movies, or Sultan harem or something. A street dancer is it. So, if taken from a classic RPG class, she would be a dancer-class. No, I take my words. No dancer in the entire class will wield such bulky swords. They favor mobility, and enhancing buff to overwhelm their opponent.

What am I talking about, different world beget different rules and customs. Though it won't be too different at all if this is a novel or some kind of anime. I doubt the writer would have such high creativity to devise a unique world that could go against his/her code of morality and mindset.

In her stead, I let out another growl.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Don't care, just caught the Freak!"

Shouted the silver-haired man, with a mangy smell that could be found in wild mongrel. Hey, he got animal ears too! That's unfair, I got one yet I was chased out like some kind of animals, well, technically I am. Maybe he was a slave? or an animal person needs special authorization to live in this city or something.

Oh, this is a good time. They still bickering as treating I'm not here. Such arrogance. Of course, the blonde-haired female knight before still focused her eyes on me. I need to commend on her later, such professional behavior is deserved to be rewarded.

Drawing from the infinite wisdom from the fountain of knowledge within me. I concurred, there's a glaring and overused template when one was transported to another world. Ruling out that I don't meet any godly being or authoritative figures before waking up.

1st, I'm transmigrated into the dead body but that didn't explain their hostility to me. Maybe I was a criminal before, so notorious, that I was noticed immediately.

2nd, let's take a look at what am I doing before. Drinking… before that! Yes, playing video games, Skyrim. Now, what's a typical transmigator get after playing his game or book. Becoming his character inside the game or one of the random characters inside it, often, influential figures.

Apparently, now I have become fur-covered creatures, with a set of ears, tail, and enhanced night-vision. There's only a race inside Skyrim, that fit such creatures. Khajiit, but is it such coincidence that my last gameplay I played as A Khajiit Dragonborn. For all I know, I could be transmigrated as M'aiq the Khajiit or some other characters or mob from the same lore.

Okay. The first stage cleared. I take the chances that I'm the main character I played last time. It's a gamble, I know. But surely, it's better than being caught with the chance of being chained or kill immediately afterward. Who can I trust in such an alien world, without any aid or help.

I tried to focus on my mind, if the theory is correct, I should be capable to remember this body memory or at least the muscle memory. A different set of visions passed my peripheral, Ralof, the chopping block, Whiterun, Greybeards, Miraak, Alduin, everything. In a rush, just like I was lifting a lever block of a dam.

I almost clutched my head in pain, if not for the four Assailants in front of me. Stay focused, search for anything useful. That's confirmed thing, that I am the Dragonborn.

A surge of power seeped inside me. I felt powerful, is the memory became the key to unlock my previous power. Yes, I could remember again, of how to use it. Maybe not to the level of my characters, but this will do.

Now, again, what to do. Fighting them with my fist, sword, or any other kind of mean is a clearly bad decision. I don't have information, and surely this entire city is swarmed with their kinds. Then, it left me with another choice, the original intention, escape.

Throat bubbling, like a seeping warm liquid that washed over it. It felt pleasant, unlike what I thought. Then again, the dragon tongue is speech, language. Maybe it's the perk of being a Dragonborn. Born with the natural physiology of a dragon.

"I won't let you!"

A blade that so large it could be classified as bludgeon passed through me, crushing deep the entire floor. That surely will kill someone, for certain. Did they have any regards for possible casualties and collateral damage.

I use the flying debris as an opportunity to make a run. Another arrow almost passed me, and another figure already blocked my path, like hell I will give you chances.

Releasing my throat, I let the power surge through my vocal cords, and rewrite the realities.

Wuld Nah Kest

From a single point, I appeared far, far behind from the blocking and chasing figures. The game didn't do any justice, the three words combined to make a might unmatched unseen from the limited engine of the game. It almost instantly brings me to the far reach of the point, while in realities I just move in supersonic speed or is it because I rewrite the rules of relativity or bend it. Food for thought.

This must be another district, judging from the more shabby and weathered building around. Trash, more littered the street as the stench of piss, and shit. People hurriedly closed their window, surely, this is just a normal day for them as I can see some people below cheered the people chasing me.

They can't catch me, not with my agility and speed at this point. But, running through the roofs won't help it either. This is not a certain assassin simulator game that could lose notoriety by just jumping to a haystack of bales. I jumped between the ledges of what apparently a church building, and flawlessly jumped on my feet to the pavement below and resumed my sprinting.

Choosing an alleyway, I passed through another garbage dump. Damn with my enhanced nose, being a Khajiit does have its perk as I can see in the dark but this smell, ugh, I need to get used to it.

A bubbling torrent of light was gathered on my hand, then with a release of my fingers, it dispersed. A surge of mana enveloped me in its light and made me Invisible to others. Hopefully, it also hid my scent. I can't go risking them, go anime characters to me, easily detecting someone through smell or any other means. What am I saying, didn't they have that mongrel animal person beside them.

Going with my mastery level and perk in illusion magic school, the spell could at least maintain for good 10 minutes as long as I didn't perform or interact with anything.

"Where is it!"

The figures that blocked me, a child? No, it must be this world equivalent of Hobbit or something. No child is normal enough to carry a spear as twice as long his height. Who am I kidding, different world different rules.

"Bette, can you track the scent?"

The mongrel sniffed as a dog would to the air, then grimaced.

"No, I lost its scent. Too many shits in here!"

Thank you, garbage. I would never be so grateful to all of you in my entire life. Maybe I could pay the favor by cleaning all of you at later dates.

The child-man, nodded silently at him then coping his cheek as was thinking.

"Split up and signaled everyone once you caught its tail, it can't let to roam inside the city."

"Yes!"

Phew, crisis averted. Somewhat, for now. I leaned to the weathered stone wall beside me in relief. Then as I pressure a protruding stone, a small one like a pebble in an accident, the wall gave a rumble before splitting up and revealed hidden passageway.

Oh, for the love of mother Mara, I thank you for the divines!
