Chapter 16: CHAPTER 16
It was 6:00 on Monday morning which was the next morning; Mrs Olotun had dressed and about to go to shop. She got down to the living room put her bag on the bed and went to her son's room to wake him up. The house maid had woke since 5:00 am to cook food that she would took to shop; it was six that Mrs Olotun used to leave the house because of the traffic jams that used to be on the way to her shop.
Knocking at her son's room, he removed the blanket and yawn.
"Who is it?" Asked and yawn again.
"It's me your mother"
"Come in! Mom, the door is unlocked!" Used his two hands to rub his face.
"Okay!" Door opened and stayed at the entrance.
"Good morning mom!" He greeted.
"Morning!, I came to woke you up that you dress and go to work"
"Which work!" As with loud voice and starting at his mother.
"You are resume to your father's company today, so stand up and start preparing"
"Mummy! I don't like all these!, release my green passport and let me go back to U. S"
"I have ready told you to forget of going to U. S, so! Stand up time is going"
"Oh! Mom" rubbed his hair and shook his head.
"Yes! My son, get up now and dress for work. It's an order"
"Okay! Mom, I heard you" said with lower voice.
"Be fast!, am going to shop"
"Bye! Mummy!" "Bye my son!, get up! Get up now"
"I will!, but mummy! I can get there anytime I like now"
"Not anytime!, 8:00 am you should have been there. Let say you later 8:45 you are there and I will call one of the worker there to confirm when you arrive"
"Oh! Oh!! Okay mom!, I heard you"
"You are still laying on the bed, come on get up!"
"I will!, go to shop mom and I will get up"
"Get up now as i am talking, lazy boy" she ordered.
"Okay mom!" He removed the blanket completely and got down.
"By 12:00 pm I will come and join you at the company"
"Okay! Mom" his mother left, door closed.
He went to the bathroom took toothbrush and put toothpaste on it brushed his tooth and off his cloth, put it inside the dirt basket at a corner in the bathroom and taking his bath.
He came out after few minutes with a tower, dried his body and applied body cream. Wore an office cloth and left the room; met the housemaid in the living room watching movie greeted him, replied and left the room. The house maid had packed food for him and put it inside the car that wanted to take out and the driver too had cleaned the car sat inside and waiting him, he entered into the car and drove out of the house.
Mrs Olotun got to shop one hour ago and her workers too had arrived, started making cake and some where at the jeweleries side. Mrs Olotun was supervising those that were making cake and monitoring those that were selling jeweleries when her phone started ringing on the table.
"Ma!, your phone is ringing" one of her worker said and took it on the table.
"Thanks, you can go back to your position" calling the person back, it was her friend Mrs Tayo that called and the worker went back to her position.
"Hello! My friend" walked alway from her workers.
"Hello!, how are you" Mrs Tayo asked.
"I am good and you? My friend, how is everything?"
"I am as well and we thank God!, how is my son?" Asking of Olawale.
"He was fine, even he resume to the company today"
"That is good!, my regard to me"
"I will! But I want you to talk to him seriously! "
"On what is that? And I hope no problem!"
"About the U. S that he insisted that he want to go back to!"
"He is still saying it?" Asked with lower voice.
"Yes! Even he said it today, I don't know what to do on his matter"
"Leave him!, he can't go anywhere just joking"
"He serious about it!, on Sunday he had packed all his load inside the car and ready to go it was because I had took his green passport that was why he was unable to go even not he would have been in U. S now"
"You took his green passport?"
"Yes! And I told him that if he said that again I will tear the passport, that is why he is obeying even the company that he went to I know it's for me to release the green passport"
"Okay!, I will come May be tomorrow to talk to him and change his mind"
"If you can do it and it work, I will be very happy! My friend"
"Don't worry my friend!, I will talk to him and he will hear"
"Okay! I heard you, thank you very much!"
"You are welcome!, how is business going!"
"Good and we thank God!, what about your business too?"
"Good as well, so take care of yourself!"
"I will and you too!" She hung up, put the phone back on the table and walked closed to her workers continued making the cake.
After one hour, they had finished making the cake packed it and all of them were going to the rest room to rest for few minutes when a lady entered. Mrs Olotun and her exchanged greetings and called one of the workers to get the cake for her; she was the one that ordered for the cake that they had making since.
Mrs Olotun looked at the wall clock beside her chair, it was 12:00 pm took her bag, told the worker to take of everything and locked the door very when it had been six clock. She entered into the car and told the driver to drive to the company. Olawale packed the files together and closed the laptop, left the office locked the door with key and going home.
Him and his mother met each other outside, as she wanted to enter into the company and him coming out. He greeted his mother and she replied, entered into the cars and drove home.
Their gate man was at the backyard uprooting a herbal leads when he heard a horn at the gate, put the bowl down and ran to opened the gate for them. They entered one after the other and got down, the gate man greed them and they went inside; door opened and closed Olawale and his mother entered the living room.
"Welcome Ma and welcome Sir!" The housemaid greeted and standing on her foot, it was in her room that she was when she heard the horn and came down.
"How are you?" Olawale asked.
"Am fine Sir!" She replied.
"Set our table, we are coming now!" Olawale said
"Yes sir!" She went to the kitchen and Olawale wanted to be going to his room when his mother called him back.
"My Son! How is the company?, is it okay for you?"
"It fine!, I like it" said with lower voice.
"The workers! How are they?"
"They are nice, welcome me well and all of them are okay for me"
"That is good!, but you left early. I arrived there 12:35 pm and I met you outside going home by that time; I suppose to send you back but not want to disrespect you there and at the front of the securities men"
"I am tried and I can't over work myself, even today is my first day not suppose to stay long just meet the workers, know the in and out and come back home"
"You have to leave good legacy as your father did, now that you have start saying you can't over work yourself that is how you start doing and not good"
"I will try! And also leave good legacy as my father did"
"I like that, good of you!" Said with smile.
"Mummy! I see that you are happy now, when are you going to release my green passport? Is it now?" Said with smile.
"Not now at all! Even I have not know"
"Know mom!, why and when?"
"I will give it to you when I see that you have change your mind and fully read to live in this country, just to go to U. S May be for vacation"
"Why are you doing like this mom!, am tried of this country. I have to go back"
"Tell me different things that make you to tire of this country"
"Everything!, the weather is bad for me and the economy! Everything mom"
"The same thing! Weather! Weather!!. I know what is doing you, it is because of your girlfriend over there that is why you want to leave your father properties and stay with a girl in another country!" Said with anger.
"Not that mom!" Said with lower voice and Franked his face.
"Off course is it!, if she can't come here you are going no where" she went to her room, Olwale throbbed his legs on the floor and went to his room.
The housemaid had finished setting the table and she was there looking at them, she could call them that time that she had set the table just looking.
