Chapter 7: CHAPTER 7
Mrs Tayo was in her room dressing in the next morning and preparing to go to see her friend's at the shop; the house maid had woke up early dressed for the kids and they had went to school with their daddy.
The house maid was at the dining room eating after finished with the house works when Mrs Tayo came out, the maid greeted her and she replied also commented about her dressing and she thanks her and she left.
She entered into her car, the gate man opened the her and she drove out. It took her one hour thirty minutes to get her friend's shop, packed at the front of the shop and got down; locked the car and entered. Her friend was very happy to see since last month, hug each others and offered her a seat.
"My friend! My friend!! I am really happy to see you" Mrs Olutun said.
"Me too!, how are you?" Mrs Tayo asked.
"I am good and you my friend"
"I am fine as you can see"
"How is my daughter, her siblings and Mr Tayo?"
"They are all fine in good health, how is my boy over there"
"He is fine as well, I just called him like some minutes ago"
"That is good, how is my uncle?"
"I have not get in touch with him but I called him around six this morning"
"Everything will be fine by the grace of God"
"Ameen! So, what do I offer you?"
"Anything! Anything will be okay for me"
"Cake and soft drink, it's shop that the only thing I can offer you so never mind" she laughed.
"No! It okay, even it will be better" her too laughed.
"Okay" she called one of her workers and she ran to her, ordered her to get her friend a cake and soft drink also on the television for her and the girl left.
She came back after few minutes with cake and soft drink, put it on small table and moved it closed to Mrs Tayo.
"Well done ma, this is it" one the television at the front of them left it at Nigeria television authority (NTA).
"Thank you very much" Mrs Tayo said.
"You are welcome ma" she left and joined those at selling of cake materials.
"My friend, how is business going?"
"It fine my friend, since last year now market is just going well. Many people are patronising us, am very happy" put the soft drink down.
"Same here too my friend, when my husband is back both of us will come to greet you at your house and during the time when my uncle too is around. It have been a while"
"Okay! We will be expecting you and my uncle"
"It is like they have want to start saying the news in full"
"Yes! Let hear what is happening in Nigeria" two of them pay attentions to the news.
"Good afternoon everybody at home, this is the news in full" a lady said from the television.
"I like that lady, she is very good when reading the news" Mrs Olotun said.
"There was a fought yesterday at the national assembly when the governor of this state was talking about the poor living of the people in the country and he was telling them what they can do to improve it this is how the opponents missed quoted him and turned to it a fought" Mrs Tayo and her friend laughed and shook their hands.
"Two men who are friends and also disabled showed out there tenant yesterday as a best printers at a competition that took place at oja oba Kwara state and they were given one million each also with many gifts" turned off the paper to other side.
"I have heard about it since that yesterday" one of the workers said, talking to the Lady beside her.
"A private jet crashed at a big sea on it way going to United state (U. S), the jet took off around 2:30 am today and crashed at 7:00 am remain six hours for it to get to U. S; all the water agencies like Marine and others had been there since when it have happened" Mrs Olutun stood up with shock.
"Jet crashed!!, my husband too took off at that time! After leaving the meeting place" All her workers stopped what they were doing and looking at her.
"Calm down! Calm down!! Okay, it won't be our portion by God grace"
"Let hear what one of the Marine agent said" the news continued.
"The jet that crashed at the big sea we are there now is private jet and what caused it is because of the weather that doesn't clear; since morning that we have been here that is when we have been sharing for the victim's bodies but we couldn't just a ID card of the owner of the jet that we found, so anybody that have someone who took off around 2:30 am and not be contact should go to any Marine's office in he or she states to conform"
"So! This is what said by the Marine agent, thank you very much my partner at the sea"
"Let go to marine's office! Let go on time please!" She took her bag on the table and looking so worried, she had felt disturbed.
"Okay! Let go, when you are close! Lock the door very well just do all the necessary thing" talking to one of the workers of Mrs Olotun.
"My friend! I don't have time, let go on time now!"
"We heard ma and there won't be problem" a lady said.
Two of them left the shop, entered Mrs Tayo's car and drove to nearby Marine's office around them. It took them more than one hour to get there, Mrs Olotun rushed down from the car going inside and Mrs Tayo too ran after her; as their in the car coming Mrs Olotun was so worried like they should had got there on time. A man ran after them saying excused me as they were running to the boss's offfice.
"What is it officer! What happened?" Mrs Tayo asked with louder voice.
"You can see the boss now, someone is with him and also there are many people that want to see him. May be you should go and join them"
"Join who? Where are they?" Mrs Tayo asked.
"All those people over there and wait for your turn"
"You are mad!" Mrs Olotun said and the officer looked at two of them.
As they saw a woman came out from the boss's office, two of them ran inside.
"MAdam! It is not your turn yet!" A lady shouted but they had entered, door closed.
"Good afternoon sir" two of them greeted in chorused
"Good afternoon MAdam, you have someone that took off with private jet around 2:30 am?"
"Yes sir! Yes!!' My husband" replying with fear all over her.
"Madam, her! Who is she to you?" Asking about Mrs Tayo.
"My friend Sir, I hope no problem?"
"Nothing at all Ma, you said that it's your husband right?"
"Yes! Her husband, he took off around 2:30 am and she called him around six am that was when she reached him last" Mrs Tayo explained more better.
"I got you Ma, sorry! Can see his picture so that to compare it the passport that they saw if he is the one or not"
"No problem! I will show you" Mrs Olotun brought her phone out from her bag.
"This is him Sir" he collected the phone from her hand and looked at the picture.
"You can have it back, not your husband Ma"
"Ah! Ah!! Ah!!! Thank you very much God that I don't become a widow" she was very happy.
"But can I see your friend for few seconds"
"For what sir? But you said he is not my husband!"
"Yes Ma! Just normal talk between me and her, as you know now"
"Okay! No problem, I will wait outside then"
"It will good, well done Ma" Mrs Olotun took her bag and left the room, door closed.
"Yes! Sir, what is it?"
"Ma! You are friends right?"
"Yes! We are close friends, I hope everything is fine" she had got worried.
"I just lie to her but I see that you are strong than her and you can take heart than her that is why I told her to excuse us for few seconds"
"Okay!! I am with you, what happened?"
"With the picture that she showed me and with the passport it is her husband, Ma you too look at the passport that was sent to us" he showed her on his computer.
"Oh! Oh!! My God it is him, it is Mr Olotun"
"I beg of you when you get out now do as if there is nothing, pretend to be smiling still you get home Ma"
"Okay! Okay!! I heard you" tears dropping uncontrollably from her eyes.
"You are crying ma! If your eyes get red she will notice, please ma"
"Okay sir, I am not crying again" used handkerchief to wrap the tear and stood up.
"Bye! Sir" tried to smile and left, door opened and closed.
Mrs Olotun was sitting at a corner waiting for her friend, Mrs Tayo saw her where she was and walked closed to her smiling like lunatic person for her friend not to notice anything.
"My friend! Sorry for keeping you waiting, let go"
"Why are you smiling like this?" She stood up.
"It is the man that make me to be laughing" going to where they packed the car.
"What did he say?"
"Nonsense talks! Foolish man, let forget it my friend"
"I know that he will not have reasonable thing to say just wasted our time, foolish ma"
Entered into the car and Mrs Tayo drove the car to Mrs Olotun's house to drop her. When they got home the security man opened the gate for them and closed it back after they had entered; two of them got down from the car, Mrs Olutun opened the door and two of them entered.
Sat on the chair, Mrs Tayo could not hold it again and tears had been dropping small and small. Her friend looked at her saw tears on her face and moved closed to her.
"What happened, why are you crying? What is wrong?"
"I am sorry my friend" she busted out.
"Sorry for what? What happened now" she had felt disturbed again.
"It was your husband that his jet crashed, that was what the man told me and begged me to pretend still we get home, i am very sorry my friend"
"Wait! Wait!! My husband is th one that had jet crashed! No! No!!!!!!" Fell on the floor from the chair.
"Oh! My God! God!!!, my husband is deaded! No! I don't believe!!!!" She shouted.
Mrs Tayo got down and sat beside her crying as well.
"You just have to take heart! Take heart!! My friend"
"My husband had gone! I won't see him again!!! Is that it"
"Please! Small, small! Try to hold it and know that it's all of us that will die one day" consoling her when she heard Mrs Olotun's phone ringing inside the bag, she moved the bag closed to her and brought out the phone, it was Olawale that was calling so she picked it.
"Hello! Mom, hello ma" Olawale said.
"It is not your mother! Olawale, it's me Mrs Tayo"
"Good evening Ma, please! Where is my mummy"
"Your mummy!" She looked at her friend on the floor crying bitterly and her too cried out,.
"Why are you crying Ma! And where is my mother, what it's that noisy that I am hearing?"
"Nothing! Your mother is fine, rest your mind"
"Ma! You can not tell me that my mother is fine when you are crying and since yesterday I don't reached my father, I don't see him here in U. S" said with anger.
"You just have to take heart as a man, your father is dead"
"No! No!! My father, don't tell me that he is the one that had jet crashed!"
"Yes my son! You need to come home and stay with your mother"
"My father! No!!!!!" He hang up.
"Hello! Olawale, please take heart!, Olawale" she saw that he had hung up, dropped the phone on the table and hold her friend's shoulders petting her.
