Chapter 81: Patient Zero

"Your... friend... gave us this..."

Derek laid out the bracelet by his hand, frightened at the sudden appearance of a voice in his mind. He did not know if it was from the casket. But he had seen weirder things in his life. Gulping amidst the creepy cold breeze beneath his legs, he peeks at the large casket. Echoing with shimmering colors of damage and rust. He looks up, wondering if there was anyone in the room, but he sees no cameras. Just small projectors emitting the man own perspective on the situations that illuminated his banishment, extremely unfeeling and cold. Seemingly recording every single detail in the world like an advanced computer with the world at the palm of it's fingers. Looking into every detail that had happened from a different perspective.

He looks on, still processing what he was attempting to do. Sighing as he looked away from everyone, each watching with immense curiosity despite their haggard appearance, still clueless as to why he was even brought along again despite being freed once more. It was stupid. He silently peered away to the hysterical drawings carved along the walls. Each filled with too much violence to watch and bear. His only wish for a return to normalcy far out of reach. All because of his over-working brother who can't keep his emotions to himself...

"Why am I here? WHY? WHY?"

He focuses back on the casket, seeing the projections floating around it go through what seemed like pictures from the recent battle in Macau as the being stopped, somehow moving the casket up to face at him, standing foolishly amongst the loud hum of movement of the machinery. His legs uncontrollable amongst what seemed like a boy stuck in a coffin. Somehow looking fresh as if he is still asleep.

He stared blankly, filled with dull expression that couldn't understand himself. Hopeful he could simply leave and maybe call the coast guard for once. Far from anyone else and simply be himself. Screw the fact that his sister was missing. It may as well be better that he isn't harassed anymore. Let alone by a man in a casket.

"It isn't so bad right? Right?..."

He looked on, stammering amongst an ever increasing amount of sweat that began to drip onto his muddy shoes, flowing through to the polished floor like a flood carving a path through a mountain. Unsightly and infuriating to see at times. Baku looked slowly, rather surprised at his energetic look at the being which stared at it silently. Looking back at the only man who impressed her as she looked at him, attempting to comfort him with her robotic hand. Filled with warmth and humanity. Hardly help his situation amongst his sweaty and uncomfortable body that crawled above his skin. An unwanted insect in the worst time possible.

"B-Baku... Please..."

He whispered to her, hoping that she would understand his pain by not looking at him. But each senses seemed to pick up another sense. A unhinged tsundere on the loose and relentless. Peering back into his eyes like a child. Someone even more intimidating than the boy who had finished assessing him, still curious despite it's rather bold and old voice. He could easily resemble a noble man who had been though everything and seen everything. Someone who is a chick magnet. Probably...

"Weird how she picked you guys of all people. Though I shouldn't be surprised."

Baku, upon hearing the boy's speech retorted in frustration from her job. Oppressed from her silence and rather eager to rush head-first. Something that didn't sit right with Derek or the others who stood back, slowly attempting to wander away with their dirty shoes which continued to stain the floor.

"What do you mean?!? Haven't you seen what we had to do against that guy?!? Aren't you supposed to some sort of-"

The man's casket shifted itself to stare at her, pulling out dozen of holographic pictures which seemed to showcase the destruction of her hometown. Irking her emotions from her painful reminders with her complicit silence. Taunting her words as she stumbled back. Speechless like the others.

"You haven't seen everything. Especially you. Sylvie."

Sylvie looked on, spooked. Jumping from her spot from her mention as the being went through it's infinite pictures of destruction even she couldn't explain. The giant woman that formed earth terrorising what seemed like aliens who attempted to attack the planet. Powerful but fruitless. Helpless to watch the being destroy them in an instant as more pictures of the aftermath emerged. Men in long robes of unknown origin watched disturbed, injured from their battle and hardly caring about a newly made volcano which was already the least of their concerns compared to the deep crack. Somehow taken from space and impossible to remake. It was quite a spectacle. Especially their view of the super continent of Gondwanda, separating into pieces as a result amongst the terror from the animals and beings that watched.

"You should be glad that you still have control. Although have you seen your partner yet?"

She tripped back, looking upon her hands as the being returned to her sight. Appearing amongst the columns cheekily in her rather slutty dress. Unwilling to learn her lesson despite her constant warnings. But as she looked at her own outfit. Her robes shorter than most and lacking much formalities, she could only fear the worse.

"Y-Yeah... I can see her... Always..."

She staggered in her speech, peering back at the invisible woman as he laughed at her reaction. Somehow in cahoots with the shady lady as Ashlyn shook her head. Giggling amongst the fearful Sylvie who raised her eyebrows, hoping she could not add fuel to the fire amongst the confusion of words and murmur of her colleagues. A painful feeling.

"Look, I hope you get along... you are probably the last defen-"

He ponders to himself. Hoping that they could get along with a man in a casket. It was after all what the first user did. It sighed, such thoughts were ageing him significantly after finding the proper messenger to find the one, yet it was so needed unlike the abrupt stop from what seemed like a Swiss German man whose eyebrows seemed raised in his dirty top hat. Slouching upon one side and rather uninterested at the small talk he was doing.

"And who are you? Explain yourself."

It looked at the bored man. Unable to see his calamity but rather his tense mood. Hardly someone who seemed patient enough to get to things. Was it because of his work in that organisation? It felt definitely possible despite his attempt to not go and look up the 'all-seeing eye' that it have. It shook his head in discomfort, staring back at his newfound impatient partner.

"Oh yeah. I totally forgot. Not like as if I haven't been planning to say it at that very moment!" He stared back at the man upon his voice of insecurity, hardly something he should be worried about. Coughing as he continued his bored speech, "My name is George. I was a child who got affected by a spaceship from the Roswell Incident... It was a long time ago..." he couldn't see. His power overwhelming his eyesight. The fact that he was over a century old made him feel weak. But he could already tell everyone was watching, their eyes staring at the casket. He feels a little spooked but is happy to know and feel after so long. He calmed himself down, speaking with more cohesion as he spoke again.

"I was ground zero. The first one who got the powers. Was at Roswell at one point. But that crash screwed me... Oflip wanted me... The Association wanted me... it had already been awful knowing how some pieces of me was taken for this purpose and placed in you..."

He sighed, thinking about his wounds beneath his fingertips as he regained composure and looked on. Hoping that it was formal enough.

"But the main reason why I asked your colleague to help was that... I think from that impact... I had a vision. This is around the time when a bunch of fools come to vision and shit hits the fan! If you know what I mean..."

"My body is unable to contain it's powers. Thus I can't help much. But you guys can!" It showcased the pictures and videos of alien invasions once again from that unseen footage, hoping their get it. But they were unamused. Confused and especially upset at his messenger for asking them to come here. Muttering amongst themselves in their world of distrust. The brats they were. Continuing his speech once again which irritated him.

"I originally didn't have a clue what the event was about... although I can finally see what it is... In fact... I think they had already arrived at your shores... watch the news now!"

His voice seemed frightened. Unable to encompass the scale of their forces as Leroy pulls out his old dated watch projector. Too old to even be seen. He starts it up showcasing a large projection of the breaking news from their news network.

"Breaking News! Reports are coming in fast of several large ships hovering around Sector C in the country of Oflip. We don't know what is happening or why they are just simply approaching Oflip at this time."

They watched silently, their ships all massive and bulky. Their four edgy fins hardly hiding the large platforms that revealed itself from the large hangers and bridge. Nearly encompassing across the large ocean if not from the planet's shape. In the middle sat a cannon. It's shiny metal parts revealed to the world as it's large flaps open up to form a large flower. Fiery and bitter. Ready to pounce immediately.

You have got to be kidding me. Already?"

They weren't ready.
