Chapter 36: The Shot
She fights back, punching him down. Only for him to fly off in a yellow dash.
"You won't get away this time!" She seethe in anger as she rushes to catch him. They pinged off the skyscrapers like pinballs, smashing onto the windows and daring the other to go faster.
Alfred looks from his car. Feeling the intensity of the battle as they pinged away from the accident.
"What are you doing here Alfred?" He jumps to see Shane, rather energetic as usual as she stares into him. Probably wondering what he is thinking about after all of his secrets went out.
"Umm... nothing, just watching the drama unfold," he said, watching her staring determinedly as she continued, "Bring everyone back alright. I got this." She immediately flew high up the air, possibly sandbagging her strength as the ground beneath her feet earlier stood determined to stay in one piece. He shakes his head as Sergio comes by as he tries to halt her to her disdain.
"Look. Let them deal with it for now-" he tries to stop her, but she is relentless, launching to catch up as Shao Lin and Sylvie followed suit.
"Aww come on doctor! Our engineer is injured!" Alfred turns around to see Maximilian complaining at Sylvie, perched up on the branches she had created as she yelled back, "Just keep an eye on the duo!" Winking as she left.
"At least you are not the only one!" Hanson said to Maximilian's annoyance, "As if I didn't know that!" Twisting his voice once again to that of a German accent. Infuriating him as he glares back. He knows he can't mess with him. Besides, he is not the main problem. He stares back at his watch, rather happy at it's amazing condition.
"Is he still trying to flex at me?" Max thought to himself as Hanson looked at his watch. Immune to its effects. As he looked on, Hanson realizes he is watching him and raises his eyebrows, adding fuel to the fire.
"You are so done for!"
Shane dashes on into the air, barely keeping up with their brawl. Below her, everyone was rioting, immediately recognizing and cheering them on. She gulped, there was too much people here, if they get caught in the crossfire...
She looks ahead to see Baku and that cyborg smashing each other into several skyscrapers. Each hit harder than the previous with glass falling down like cats and dogs onto running ants below.
The duo pummel their way up the remnants of a section of the large weapon, blasting through the dark grey building like butter as Baku manages to get a grip on that cyborg.
As she did so however, his entire head detached and blasted off.
"What the f-!"
She tries to grab him but he had gone even faster. His entire body is missing!
"Wait...."
She turns around without a second thought. Immediately surprised by a large metal hand strangling her as she is rocketed down onto the ground with a 500 feet deep large crater. Crashing down through the road and falling into an underground shopping center.
"Baku!!!"
She didn't know whose voice it was, probably Shane's. She looks back up, her monitors fizzing as she sees that prick recombining himself back to his original mode. Laughing at her failed attempts to stop him. Behind her, she see onlookers flanking by the shops. All joyfully watching, cheering and a livestream of her winning battle. To his annoyance.
"You know, for a cyborg. You are very weak. I mean I was expecting more!" He grinned as she laughs, annoying him even further as he casually walked towards her. "Why are you laughing!?!" He punches her face, bruising the remnants of the only skin intact from her injuries.
"That's because you haven't seen all of my powers!" She laughed further as he is jumped by two large hands from the sky grabbing him, flinging him up into the air and punching him into the ground. Pummeling across several streets.
She boosts herself up with the rear jet packs. Lifting herself up and combining with her add-ons. She looks back. Her back now featuring two larger grey jet engine the size of a small jet engine as jet packs with small wings. Lifting her hands, her addition hand installations formed large metal claws light enough for her as the mini-guns whirled. She looks down at her legs which now was bigger and longer. Capable of transforming to perform even better in flight. She looks ahead, covering her head with a 'eagle-head-shaped' helmet, fitted with the latest in technology of projection of imagery and armored glass.
"Now I can take him!" She pants, flying back up to safety. In front of her, the cyborg struggles to lift himself back up. Lighting fizzing in his chest and coolant leaking out of his eyes like blood.
"Finally a good punch!" He groans, mechanically coughing in laughter as he gets himself back up. Continuing, "You know I haven't introduced myself!" He stretches his robot parts like muscles. Flexing and bending black fibers, glowing hot red to form a even bigger monster. His torso widened with bright amber heaters glowing in the dark streets as he increased in height. Higher than in her bulky equipment and more of a devilish being. Glowing evil with lightning from him striking further into the increasingly crowding streets, making the other girl's job more hectic than ever.
"My name is Dakota! Now called, the Darkness of Oflip! To cast the end of poverty and bring light to the peace of this country!" He screeched mechanically, launching himself at her as she lifts off, firing her mini-guns at the exposed areas. But it seem to do nothing.
"What? It's armor piercing rounds!" She freaks out as she launches missiles his way. Completely unfazed by the blast.
"You know what's funnier? YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A CHANCE!" He roared back, using the fiber in his arms and casting a bright reddish light back. Blanketing everything like a whirlpool. She tries to run away. Increasing speed and breaking the sound barrier. All the buildings were just blurs at this moment. But it tracked her like a homing missile.
"How??? How is that possible! I'm going very fast here!"
"YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN TRY!" He launches more of these aura from all the fiber around him. At this point Sylvie and Shao Lin had enough, trapping him with water and plants. However it was too late as they watched it engulf her fully, close to the stars.
"No NO NO!" She screamed. All her monitors had failed. She tries to level herself, but she feels nothing in the engines. She looks back through cameras. But it is almost displaying no feedback. "Impossible... it's rust proof..." she fades in consciousness, falling straight back down into the earth with ear-piercing sounds of loud winds and burning parts.
"Are you immune to electricity?" Shao Lin asked looking back at Sylvie, shrugging back.
"You think you can stop me like that?" Dakota jeers back. Attempting to break free of it's clutches but to no avail.
"Oh sure. How about this!" She shouts with all her might, zapping him under the water binding. Shaking him up unlike Sylvie, who was rather unfazed.
With a nod, Sergio begins to break up the ground, vibrating and forming a large hole into the earth.
"Now it's time to dig in!" Shao Lin boasted, pulling him in with their might. But he still levitated at his spot. Heaving a sigh of disappointment as he swings the binds, surprising Shao Lin who is launched up against the wall.
"Now is your turn!" He looks at Sylvie, completely stunned by his sudden burst of strength and speed. Twirled unreasonably and launched at Sergio who tries to create a slide for her. Only to be crushed under her weight.
He looks back up. The bright flash of the falling remains all fallen from grace as he grabs her remaining body. The top half of her body along with her head. She is all bruised up with her skin burnt beyond belief. Her remaining robotic parts were all leaking and reeking a rotten smell. The smell of corruption.
"Listen here!" He lifts her remains up like a rag doll in front of the stunned and scared crowd, all cowering in fear as he continued, "Now I bring to you a corrupted robot. Now put down back to earth!" He immediately began crushing her head. Causing grievous pain to her as she screamed. This time, blood was leaking out. He was enjoying it all. Finally, another kill to put onto his kill counts.
But his fun wasn't going to last. She hissed, blasting a bunch of wind which began to move him out of course. Causing him to drop her down.
With a huge adrenaline rush, she blasts off, grabbing the fallen cyborg as he is kicked up into the air, shrieking. She looks closer at him, widening her eyes. She had broke and dislodged some of his major components. With another leap in the air she places her down safely. This time now struggling to breathe.
"Stay with me!" She shouts back at the listless cyborg. Staring back at Dakota who was struggling to stand with the now bent metal. A lot of fluids were now leaking and he had a lot of electricity wreaking havoc around him.
"Wow... so it's you who is the strongest. So cowardly!" He coughs out more irksome fluids as he continued, "But you have yet to see my final ability!"
At this moment, a loud muffled female voice was sung out aloud, "GALED SYSTEM ACTIVATED."
What the hell? Wasn't the systems supposed to be deactivated? Don't tell me he placed a trigger in him? She looks back in fury as he smiled, "If I die, you all shall fall as well!" He emitted a loud cracked. Watching the lights beginning to form.
She leaps up into the air, fists up in the air as she drives into the light. She knows she shouldn't be doing this. But someone has to stop him. She reaches the bright light and punches it.
It was blinding. Too bright for normal sunlight, has she joined Silvia? She then began to feel an overwhelming flow of power within her. She shrieked in pain. Then nothing.
This feeling of power is too good. Way bigger than she had ever felt. But she has other priorities. She launches back down, breaking the sound barrier as a huge gust of wind shatters the sky into a rather moody night.
Sergio looks at her in amazement. As a friend, she always saw that she had potential. Looking at her bright blue glow around her. Her eyes completely white. Also overflowing with power with her hair now like fire, dancing in the wind.
Without hesitation, she immediately blast at the emotionless but frustrated robot, destroying him with her newfound powers. However the brutal force of a large claw arm stuns her, firing away like a rocket and crashing down onto the ground, the gravel flying all over the place, shattering windows as she is pinned at her spot.
"Meh, this scenario is so common. It's boring," he chuckled as the woman struggled to move, every bit of struggle delighting him. "Goodbye. NO ONE WILL EVER REMEMBER YOU," he goes directly at her face, his minigun whirling away as Sergio looked on in despair.
"BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG."
The robot stumbled he looks to find his metal endoskeleton rusting away, every movement more painful than before. He tried to use his weapons but they were all malfunctioning.
He turns around, limping to see Alfred standing, chilling with his black utilitarian pistol by his side. His 'silver bullet'.
"Perhaps some things shouldn't be followed," he walked towards him, completely ominous of the people around him snapping pictures with curiosity. He grabs the robot by the neck as he stared blankly into face, hiding his true emotions.
"Let this be known, all you ever did for the company was for naught. None of your achievements for your goal ever succeeded. You are fired."
"AALLFFRREEDD!!!!-"
The robot screeched, attempting to claw him as he fired more rounds into his head, each bang echoed through the now quiet streets as everyone watched. His lifeless body oozing in green as it flowed out in all directions from his head. Smoke peaked into the atmosphere as his already damaged circuits filled with green. He drops him on the ground, now disintegrating into several awfully rusted metal still in the midst of rusting and green ooze covering the broken street.
"Lesson ended."
He looks up at the group, stunned by his appearance as he dropped his gun. Now a hollow and empty shell of itself.
