Chapter 66: We are moving here!

"What are you doing here?" Barakiel asked as he opened the door.

In front of him were four people.

Three of them, two girls and a boy, were his "students".

They were Raynare, Kuroka and Drako.

The remaining person was a little girl that Barakiel had met before. She was the daughter that Azazel had adopted a few years earlier, Valina. As far as he knew, Valina came from the lineage of Lucifer and also possessed the Divine Dividing, the name of the Sacred Gear that contained the soul of the "Vanishing Dragon" Albion and one of the 13 Longinus.

"Move in?"

The only boy present, a young dragon Tiamat had left in Grigori, asked Barakiel. He had his head tilted to one side as he made the face of an idiot.

Barakiel did not know why, but he felt the need to strike at that idiot face Drako was showing.

As for Raynare and Kuroka... they did not look much different than normal.

Raynare had a drowsy face with dark circles that looked like dark circles under her eyes, probably due to lack of sleep. This was not unusual, as she had already appeared like this on the first day of training.

Seriously, how could a little training cause so much stress on her? It even got to the point where she couldn't sleep well at night.

It was impossible that this little training was the cause of this.

No.

In fact, that could be the cause of Raynare's condition, but for a completely different reason.

Barakiel had noticed the day before when Raynare had started to cry because they were not going to have training that afternoon. He offered her to train with twice the intensity, even three times the intensity, and her response was twice as intense.

If the previous training was too hard, she could have told him, and Barakiel would have lowered the intensity a little, just a little. But she shouted excitedly that she wanted to train with double the intensity.

It was at this point that Barakiel connected all the dots.

Raynare had never been lazy, she just couldn't find the motivation to train. That's why she stopped in the middle of her training, to force Barakiel to force her to run to put more tension on her body.

That's why she was so excited about wanting to train at twice the intensity.

Sigh...

They had misunderstood Raynare all these years, Barakiel felt a little sorry for her. That's why he was going to give everything to train her from now on, pushing her to the limit in every training session.

He had woken up in the morning with this mentality, after sending the nightmare to the back of his mind. But he hadn't expected her to show up in front of his house with the rest of them.

Kuroka had the same face as always. She looked sleepy, but not for lack of sleep, and most of all annoyed, though Barakiel could not understand why she seemed annoyed every morning.

She was glued to Drako, as always. Kuroka was always attached to Drako, except when he was training.

When Drako started training, she would settle down somewhere and control her [Kasha] to help the little dragon train.

If it was little surprise to find her three students on her doorstep, even more surprising was to find Azazel's adopted daughter. What was she doing here, and why was she looking so intently in his direction?

Was this meant to be a fight?

Barakiel had heard that Valina was a lover of battles, but he didn't expect it to go this far.

"Honey, who is it at this hour of the morning?"

Shuri's voice was heard from inside the Shrine.

"Huh? What are you doing here?"

Shuri was just as surprised as her husband. In front of her were the three teenagers who had visited them the day before, along with another unknown girl.

"We're moving."

Drako wasn't asking anymore, he was affirming.

It was at that moment that Barakiel realized the suitcase each of them was carrying. How could he have overlooked that detail?

"And... where are you going to move?"

Shuri already had an idea, but still, she asked.

"Here, of course."

"Sigh..."

Shuri patted her forehead and sighed. She did not know what to do at this point.

There were four of them, and there were only four beds left inside the Shrine. This was too much of a coincidence.

"Akeno..." Shuri muttered when she saw her daughter peeking out the door.

Shuri noticed. Yesterday, Drako asked her daughter a question, and she answered with number four. Shuri did not understand what she meant, and Akeno had only told her that it was a secret between her and Drako.

Now it all added up.

Drako...

He had refused to care for Akeno if anything bad happened to her. But he had agreed to help her daughter if she was ever in trouble.

So this was his way of helping.

Barakiel could not always be at home, but he could go to work in peace if someone else was in his place protecting his family. And it was even better if he could trust them, which he could not do with many of the members of Grigori. And of the few Grigori members he trusted, they had their own jobs to do within the organization.

"Go ahead, I'll show you to your rooms."

"Wait, Shuri..."

"I said I'll show you to your rooms."

Barakiel took a step back when he saw the determined look on his wife's face. Even if he disagreed, what could he do against his wife?

Shuri entered the house, and Akeno followed her as she stuck out her tongue to her father. Drako and his party followed behind.

Shuri arranged a different room for each of the guests. And though Kuroka complained, she too had to back away from Shuri's steady gaze, accepting her fate of being separated from Drako.

Drako, who was the last of the group, said to Shuri before entering her room.

"I won't take care of Akeno in your place, because I won't let her lose her mother."

He entered the room and closed the door before Shuri could say anything. She was stunned for a moment, a tear streaming down her face as she mumbled.

"Thank you, thank you very much."

Chapter 67: The destined day arrive.

It's been several days since we moved into Barakiel's house.

Our days haven't changed much, and if they have, it's for the better. In the end, it's always better to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by a beautiful woman than those made by yourself.

Another thing that has changed for the better is the inclusion of Akeno in our training.

Apparently, she had been training with her father since she was little. It was not serious training, but Barakiel had been teaching her to use his Holy Lighting, which she had inherited from him, and Shuri had taught her basic skills in purifying spirits.

It was nothing exaggerated, but she could defend herself against the weaker fantasy beings. I had always wondered how Akeno had been able to survive on her own for more than a year, but with the skills her parents had taught her, it all made sense.

Due to obvious limitations of the place, Kuroka and I decided to suspend archery training. There is no need to draw unnecessary attention, especially since we want to attract Barakiel's enemies so that we can kill them.

Because of this, my training is summarized in sitting in the lotus position and practising Senjutsu.

Barakiel is now training Raynare and Akeno.

Little Akeno could not bear to see her father giving attention to a girl who only seemed a few years older than she. She felt her position threatened, so she decided to force her father to train her.

Valina, for her part, continued to leave early in the morning and return late at night. There were even days when she didn't return at night.

I can't help but sigh when I remember what it took to get Valina out of the apartment and into the Shrine.

But bringing her is necessary to avoid any extraordinary events. It wouldn't be unusual for an ally of the Chaos to show up, just as it did when Shirone and Kuroka's event occurred.

............................

The day of destiny has come.

Barakiel received a call from Azazel and had to go back on a mission. He seemed to hesitate about accepting the task or not but finally decided to go.

I was put on alert at the same time that Barakiel returned to Grigori. This situation was the same as the one I know.

Barakiel leaves Shuri and Akeno alone, and his enemies killed Shuri before Barakiel can return.

My job here is to prevent that from happening, to gain Fate Points and to gain experience.

Now I'm training my [Senjutsu] for three reasons.

The first is that training my archery can become too flashy and can potentially scare off assassins because of my high accuracy range.

The second is that I don't want to show my true form due to similar reasons as the first reason. This form is something that only Azazel, Barakiel, Valina, Shuri and Akeno know about.

The third is that I'm communicating with the trees around the Shrine, waiting to be warned of the enemy's arrival. At the same time, I'm looking for any negative energy in the vicinity.

"Boy, there are thirty suspicious people in the forest." An ancient voice speaks in my head. This one comes from the head tree, which is over a hundred years old.

"I can feel them" Kuroka is beside me, also alert for possible enemies, she detects them.

I've detected them too. It's about thirty dark auras, I can distinguish two different groups.

The first one has a dark aura, but also a sacred one. It is an aura with which I have been in contact lately, the aura of the fallen angels.

So these are Grigori's traitors.

The second group is another aura I have been in touch with before. It is very similar to Kuroka's, but it is a little different.

It's the aura that comes from a pure-blood devil.

The strange thing is that I cannot sense any human aura, which means that the Himejima Clan will not be directly involved. I wonder why that is.

"Call Raynare and tell Shuri and Akeno to stay inside the house. Those guys don't look like they're very strong, but there's no telling what might be waiting for us. Stay with them just in case."

Kuroka nodded and left the room in the direction of where Raynare, Akeno, and Shuri were.

I got up and left the Shrine. The enemies were still inside the forest, so I pulled Gandiva out and prepared to fire.

The first attack is surprise, and it's always the most effective. None of the assassins is prepared for a sudden attack, so I'll try to make the most of it.

Which one is the leader?

As far as I can see, there are two clear leaders. Their forces are far superior to those of the other assassins.

One is a devil, and the other is a fallen angel.

The statistics of the two are better than mine in several respects, although we are more or less evenly matched. But I'm confident I can kill them with a single arrow each.

With my [Arrow Creation: Lv8], I have no doubt that I will be able to pierce your brains with a single arrow. Your 150 HP is nothing against a fatal blow.

Since I want to ensure the success of the shots, I wait for them to enter the 300-meter range and...

Swooooosh!

Swooooosh!

I shoot two arrows almost consecutively, with an interval of 0.1 seconds difference.

And in less than another second, I hear the system notifications.
