Chapter 7: Mo Chen
As Xuan Long was standing separately from the crowd, he noticed a kid in a line, he should not be older than 9 years old. He was amused seeing such young kid walking around alone. It reminded him of his past, when he braved the treacherous Southern Black Sea on a fishing boat. But, he was not 9 years old in real, not at least mentally. He is a 50 year old veteran mentally. He was the weapon his country created to win the unwinnable war. He was considered as the best super agent ever in the worlds history, once his mission was made to public. He was trained from the age of 4 in all kinds of warfare, he was best hacker in the world, he held this title for all his life. He stayed in enemies territory for 20 years and infiltrating top bureaucrats and military, then slowly killing the country from inside and eliminating the greatest threat to his country and destroying the hegemony of that country in the world. There has never been an operation on similar scale that changed the history of the world.
He is not just any veteran, he is veteran trained for treachery , no one will know his inner thoughts unless he expresses them, he bind his time three years to make preparations to leave the Chen City, if he wished he could destroy the Zhou family and all the evil doers staying there and they will never know. But, he gave up that idea. He didn't want to constrain himself in that place, where highest cultivator is of just shedding immortality level. With his capabilities he could just become the invincible existence in the world. He decided to live this life for himself using every opportunity for himself.
But now seeing that boy in rags, he couldn't help but remember that three years of his life. He has similar vibe as he had feeling of loneliness vibrating from him and grief and rage in his eyes. He was curious what his story is. His cultivation is not in the 7th Qi Gathering realm yet, he is still peak of 6th stage Qi Gathering realm. He should be the youngest one among all the pupil gathered here. Even though there was no minimum age requirement , it was usually considered to be 12 years, as Azure Dragon Sect opens for recruitment every three years. So seeing 11 years and 10 years should be rare. But seeing a 9 year old entering it would cause commotion and attention.
Xuan Long doubted that even if deacon allowed him to enter the Valley test, he might not be able to clear it. Xuan Long slowly walked towards the boy patiently.
Xuan Long "Kid what is your name?"
Mo Chen "Walk away, I am not interested in listening to your offer?"
Xuan Ling burst into laughter hearing this, turtle defense, peculiar method used by people who are scared of everything, they try to feign arrogance and confidence outside, while their inside is chaos.
Xuan Long "I don't have any offer to give, I am here for a chat. Have you ever been hungry?"
Mo Chen was quite confused hearing this, hundreds of people came to talk to him finding him alone and wanted to recruit him to their clan. But this guy is bit nuts. When he shoved him he didn't burst out saying his clans name and all, but looking at him amused.
Xuan Long "Have you ever been thirst and hungry at same time?"
Mo Chen "What do you want?"
Xuan Long "Nothing much I was just calibrating you. With your current state you will never be able to enter the Azure Dragon Sect, so I was asking have you experienced something similar before."
Mo Chen "My spiritual root is high, they will make consideration for me."
Xuan Long "I know, but they will only allow you to take the valley test, without a stable mind you will never pass the trial. I thin you should have considered joining one of the families, they may be able to protect you until you are useful to them. I guess it is still not late for it now."
Mo Chen came to realization now, that all along he considered whether deacons will allow him or not, but never though about the important part.
Mo Chen "You didn't come here to taunt me, did you?"
Xuan Long "I would like to taunt but I don't have much experience in that. But, I have a bit experience in cultivation. "
Mo Chen "What do you want to say?" he was restless as the conversation was getting dragged continuously.
Xuan Long "I don't know what you have been through, I will not ask and neither will I care about it, it is your own tribulation."
Xuan Long "Do you know what tribulation is?"
Mo Chen nodded his head, but asked him confused, there would be no tribulations for cultivators until they reach peak of Qi Solidifying realm, before they enter into Shedding mortality stage.
Xuan Long "We won't stop cultivating being worried about tribulation coming in the future right."
Xuan Long "We may solidify our foundation and make necessary preparation and follow right path for it but we wont cultivate bearing tribulation in mind, it is just a temporary obstacle to keep in mind."
Xuan Long "There are two paths right in front of you, one is path of immortality other is path of revenge. If you choose path of immortality you may stumble across the destination of revenge but if you choose path of revenge you will never reach beyond that?"
Xuan Long "You can't travel in two boats at a time."
Xuan Long "There are still 56 people to go through check. If you understand what I am saying you will reach, you will reach 7th stage Qi Gathering by then."
saying that Xuan Long walked away from there.
Xuan Long was back to his previous location and started checking others.
While he was checking others, there were dozen people in golden and white robes observing him.
One of the the elders in golden robes asked the elder in white robes "Elder Lin, do you think he is a spy?"
Elder Lin smiled "No, but he is not as simple as he looks."
"Should we keep an eye on him?"
Elder Lin "Keep me up to date,but don't let any one know. I guess he would sure become another existence like 7th elder."
Elder Lin "Place that boy in same court yard as his, he needs careful guidance and observation. They both would become important figures in future."
As Elder Lin was looking at both the figures another elder reminded "Elder Lin, he broke through to 7th stage. His emotions are also stabilized. "
Elder Lin "He will have no trouble clearing the Valley trial."
Elder Lin "Oh! we have company now."
