Slow progress is still a progress

I woke up around 6 in the evening. I was a little dazed on the fact that I have such an incredible ability. This is not mind read, this is something more than that. i am though curious about what are the sounds Inkay heard, I decided to look into it later. For now, it is time to meet my new team member, Charjabug. I went straight to the pokemon centre and took the pokeball of charjabug. I heal them both. While leaving the nurse joy asked me my ID and updated my Rank. Yes I am official a D-rank from today. I make my way towards the training grounds and release Charjabug.

Phillip: hey charjabug, how are doing buddy.

I gave him food that bought along with from the pokecentre. Though pokemon in side the pokeball will feel less hungry than the pokemon roaming outside, I don't want it to think about food and listen to me. I look at the bug pokemon eating or gobbling the food, I take out my scanner and scan it.

Charjabug

Type –Bug/Electric

Species- Battery Pokemon

Height- 0.8 m (slightly higher than normal)

Weight- 9.5 kg (slightly lower than normal)

Abilities: Battery [allows the Pokemon to raise the power of teammates' special moves]

Gender – Female

Colour- Black (shiny)

Nature: Bashful

Description- Charjabug stays perfectly still in preparation for Evolution, and often spends time with its body half-buried in the earth. Charjabug is able to store up electricity. It can store enough power to run a household for a whole day. The power it stores can be provided to other Pokémon, so it can also serve as a battery! From the food it digests, it generates electricity, and it stores this energy in its electric sac. While its durable shell protects it from attacks, Charjabug strikes at enemies with jolts of electricity discharged from the tips of its jaws. Evolved Form of Grubbin and Evolves into Vikavolt.

Attacks:

Bug Bite, Charge, Discharge, Mud-slap, String shot, vise grip, Bite.

Bashful nature. A shy type and the hates attention. I have tweak it a bit. This type is not so initiative. I have to make him be more proactive. I can make him evolve into a Vikavolt by making him level up in a magnetic field or use a thunder stone. To use a thunder stone, I need money which I lack, so I will look for the other option.

For next few days I took various D-rank missions. Though I did not get the title "Mission Demon" I am pretty well known among trainers. I do not want to gather too much attention than I think I already have. Slow progress is also a progress. Most of the missions I did were patrolling at the wall or killing pokemon in the farm. I kind of hated the idea of killing but there were a few pokemon which tried to bypass the pokemon battle and came straight to kill me. Hugo's Zubat did not die like it did in the original, he even caught his second pokemon, Magnamite. Jacob caught a pidgey and growlith ; Ginnette caught a caterpie. I knew this was the time when Austin will catch his mutated Torchic.

I mostly train alone, and sometimes have some battle tournament with the groups. Jacob was the only trainer with three pokemon. He had a solid strategy, his poocheyana is a fighter for sure.

During our first battle, Jacob sent his poocheyana out and I choose Aurora (Inkay). As soon as the battle started he asked his pokemon to use 'Odor Sleuth' a move to identify and follow the pokemon. As in RPG games he gave me time to make my move, stupid I say. Poocheyana being pure dark type it has only bug and fighting weakness. Even though Aurora has no moves with these types, in a low-level battle it doesn't required any. I asked to execute AB teleport with sludge followed by teleport 0 with tackle and peck. AB teleport is a hit and run tactic, it teleports from point A(current position) to Point B(opponent position) execute the move and teleport back to its initial position. Even though Jacob tried to fight back he couldn't, I won the match without taking any damage.

Hugo and Ginnette only agreed to battle with me if I used my Charjabug. Oh yeah, I named her buggy. Not a great name but she liked it. Hugo's zubat or ginnette's Hoppip, they had natural weakness with Charjabug. Neither of them withstood buggy's discharge. Fight with Austin was interesting.

Austin found a loophole in my hit and run tactic. While Aurora can teleport instantaneously, while attacking he waits for like a few seconds before attacking and teleporting back. Austin just asked his eevee to guess my teleport position using its sensitive ears and smell to attack when Aurora appears within its attack range. I tried hypnosis but for some reason his eevee could resist it. At the end I landed a successful sludge which poisoned him and by dragging the battle we could win. Strength wise Jacob had the power type, Austin has tactical skill but I won over them. This is a small success but I knew defeating them will not be so easy in future.
