UNWILLING TO MARRY

From where Arianna stood, she can see Yago approaching with a sullen face. She wondered how she can brighten up his mood... She put away her phone and greeted him with a warm smile.

"Are you looking for me?",she asked.

"What's taking you so long? Who's that on the phone?",Yago probed unhappily. It looks like she had been here for quite too long already. She needs to appease this giant sour fruit!

"Nobody! We were just discussing small details about the wedding that needs to be refined. We're finished now! Let's go meet mom!" she explained. She then hugged his arm and pulled him away.

Yago was startled by the sudden intimate action. It looks like she's in a better mood now. Although he was displeased with her wedding, he can let it go temporarily as long as she's happy. But just for the time being. He would still need to device a plan to stop her from attending it later.

"Mom! Good morning!" Arianna cheerfully greeted her mother who was seated at the dining table with her father. Yago pulled a chair for her and watched her take a seat before sitting on Arianna's left.

"I didn't believe your father when he told me you're coming today." Dianna commented. "It turned out to be the truth."

"How are you doing Mom?",she asked with concern. "I was worried you'll be sad with just Dad staying with you, so I decided to come early and take Yago with me. It'll be more lively with us around, yeah?"

Dianna nodded with a warm smile. Indeed. It was better with them here.

"You're mother is doing better. She's more optimistic now!" Carl commented. "I bet she's aiming to walk alongside your kids." he teased.

Dianna acted as if she didn't hear Carl's teasing. She passed the plate of bacon to Arianna and then the plate of fried eggs to Yago. She watched them start eating breakfast before picking up her cutleries again.

"Actually, I'm aiming for something else." she stated. "I want to be able to walk earlier... so I can attend Yanyan's wedding without this wheel-chair."

Arianna was startled. She was about to bite on her bacon but stop midway. Her mother was thinking of that? Yago's reaction was worse. He just choked on a piece of bread. Arianna's wedding: there's only a few days to go, so Dianna won't make it in time, right?

Arianna hurriedly fetched a glass of water for Yago. She then patted his back. She chuckled as she watch the poor man choke on her mother's words. Well, it's his fault too for thinking too much, right?

"Mom, you frigtened Yago." Arianna jested as she chuckled.

Dianna watched with concerned eyes.

"What happened? Did I say anything wrong?" she asked, bewildered.

"It's because you said you want to walk during my wedding. Then doesn't that mean we need to wait for you to walk before planning my wedding?"Arianna teased them with a mischievous smile. "Either you retract your words or you speed up your progress, so I can finally have my most awaited wedding. What do you think, Mom?", Ah, this is fun. She really enjoys teasing both Yago and her mom.

"Arianna, how can you say such things to Mom?" Yago immediately chastised the woman as he saw Dianna turned silent. What was Arianna thinking? She wanted to get married to that jerk so much that she's willing to offend her mother? "Mom, don't listen to her. Take your time. The wedding could wait. There's no need to rush."

Arianna chuckled at how worked up Yago was. "I was just kidding! Why so serious?" she replied.

Dianna watched as the two kids banter. In truth she wasn't offended. Besides knowing Arianna was only joking around, she's very much confident about herself, too. In a few months, she knew she'll be able to walk normally again. Just a little more time. She wouldn't want them to wait too long for her, too.

"Huh? You're only kidding? Then you're willing to promise Mom that you'll be waiting until she recovers before getting married?", Yago challenged her. "You can do that, right?"

Arianna went silent. This stupid Yago... doesn't he know how strange he sounded right now? Why can't he let go of that wedding issue even for just a moment? He isn't proffessional at all, is he?

In front of them, Dianna was having a strange expression too. What's happening?

"Yago, are you in fact unwilling to marry my Yanyan? You seemed to be against marrying her..." Dianna asked with furrowed brows. Shouldn't it be the girl who wants to delay the marriage? Why does it sound like Arianna is rushing it up instead and Yago was the one procrastinating?

Oh shoot! Yago gritted his teeth as he realized how he sounded. He was too preoccupied on Arianna's up coming wedding with Jayden that he forgot Dianna was actually talking about his and Arianna's wedding instead.

"Mom, I didn't mean it like that. I was just concern about you..." he tried to explain. But Arianna started acting up.

"What? Isn't it the truth?",Arianna interjected. "He's not planning to marry me anymore. But it's alright. I'm perfectly aware of the reason why he can't." Arianna looked upset. She excused herself before she quickly rose from the table and left the room with hurried footsteps.

"Mom, I need to follow her." Yago said anxiously as he got to his feet. In just a short while, both youngsters were gone.

"Don't bother with them. It's normal for couples to fight." Carl said on the side. He has been silently watching the show the whole time. But he couldn't side with any of them. What a pitty. He hired such lousy actors... "Let's finish our breakfast. I'm sure it was just one stupid misunderstanding."

Dianna nodded. Indeed it must be just a misynderstanding. Yago loved Arianna so much. Why wouldn't he want to marry her daughter?

"Arianna, wait up!" Yago yelled as he tried to catch up to her. "I'm sorry, alright?" he uttered instictively. Although he didn't exactly know what he should be apologizing for, he had long since got used to saying the word when he sees Arianna upset.

Arianna froze when she heard Yago's apology. Hah! Typically him.

"Now you're sorry? Aren't you the one who wanted to act as a couple with me? But you only know how to mess things up!" she begun scolding him.

"You made a scene too." he replied. She dashed out of the room. Dianna must be worried.

"You started it first! Can't you just forget about your private matters when you're with my mom? I wanted to show her that we're getting along well. But all you do is show her that frown on your face. It's annoying!" Arianna wanted to shout, but she kept her voice low to avoid getting heard. Still, she was able to convey her thoughts well.

Yago sighed. It was his fault this time.

"Alright. I promise I won't mention about your wedding anymore for the next few days. But we still need to discuss it before we leave." he decided to compromise.

"Deal." she replied. At last, her days are sure to be peaceful. She finally succeeded in making Yago retreat. His constant pestering about the wedding has been really irritating. It's not as if that occasion is important! In her heart, this vacation with him is more significant than that.

"Gwen, is that you?" Belle called to the woman she saw talking with the guard as she was entering a restaurant. The woman smiled upon seeing her.

"Belle! What a coincidence!" the woman replied. "I was just about leave. Are you here with someone?"

"I'm dining with my boyfriend, but he's going to be late." Well, as always. Belle thought. "Are you in a hurry? Can't we chat for a while? We haven't seen each other for a long time now."

"Sure." the woman answered with a nod. Belle then led her inside.

Gwen has been friends with Belle since collage. She's a sole heiress to a pharmaceutical company. She chose to hang around her before because she's both rich and smart. Although Gwen wasn't as pretty as her, Belle considered her as bird with the same feather as hers. It's just a pitty that they parted ways after collage, as Gwen became busy with business matters.

"How are you Gwen? I've heard you're getting married?", Belle asked. She just caught wind of that on some website forum before.

"Actually, we're already registered. We're just lacking the ceremony. Remember Hans Lee?", she replied with a smile.

Belle's eyes widened. "Hans Lee? That school hunk who looked like a korean pop idol? You're married to him?" Belle was incredulous. Hans Lee was everybody's prince back then! How was she able to attract such a good looking guy? With Gwen's average look, it could only be her status that attracted that fresh meat, right?

"Yeah! Incredible, right? You wanna her my secret?", she whispered.

"What secret?",Belle asked. Could there really be some secret method to that?

The woman smiled like a fox, showing her pearly white teeth.

"I'll tell you because we're friends. The secret is... the Love pill."

Love pill? Belle furrowed her brows. What is that?
