Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Defending Ratsburg
Xerx began training the rats as usual.
While training he got some ideas he wanted to try with building the village.
For example, creating an underground layer where people can live.
But also go to if the village is under attack.
So that Xerx and his rats can defend the village and Ratsburg.
Xerx has just about 4 days left till the first group of villagers arrives including today.
And to finish building the village.
So he must try to up his building speed by a lot.
Xerx decided that all the rats Wil be working in teams.
But the teams will be smaller and divided differently this time.
The rats Wil be divided into teams by what they are good at individually.
The teams are further divided into squads and those in sections and so on.
For example team, one consists of two groundbreaking diggers, 1 three-headed elements rat,
2 clay controllers and 1 dark stone builder.
Team one is part of the house building squad which is part of the general buildings section. Team one's groundbreaking diggers are for digging the foundation and basement that leads to the underground village.
They are also responsible for laying the connection to the sewer system.
The clay controllers are creating the foundation and roof they are also responsible for paving the road.
The three-headed elements rat first head is for making the plumbing.
And the second head is there to help the clay controllers laying the foundation.
But at the same time for helping the dark stone builder in his task.
The third head is responsible for making the garden.
The dark stone builder is for building the walls and rooms of the house.
This is a small description of the changes to the teams.
After finishing training Xerx explains the teams their job and got to work.
Just before they were finished for the day Xerx saw Leo his team running to him at full speed.
Leo's team is part of the scouting squad.
As Leo arrived he shouted to Xerx that our allies are requesting help.
Because they are under attack by a massive alliance against Ratsburg and the local rats.
Xerx immediately ordered Leo to gather everyone and have one section protect ratburg and the baby rats.
And have the other sections spread out and help all of the rats.
Even the ones they aren't in alliance with.
They are also ordered to search the Forest for any rats that they don't know of and help them.
If they can the teams should escort them to Ratsburg.
If they can't try to at least get them to join them in helping others.
The last order was if there were any other creatures under attack they would be treated the same as the rats.
Xerx mounted Xia and sped off towards the groundbreaking diggers.
As soon as xerx arrived he readied his bow and saw a massive army consisting of frogs, hedgehogs, squirrels, rabbits, owls, sparrows, and even some snake species.
Attacking the groundbreaking diggers Xerx ordered his group to attack the army.
And started to shoot the flying ones while Xia slaughtered the ones on the ground.
As Xerx shot his last arrow he switched to his bone-shattering Halbert.
And began with killing the enemies as if he was chopping trees.
The groundbreaking diggers began seeing hope and started to attack with renewed fighting spirit.
After defeating the army Xerx was thanked by Arion and they promised to join ratsburg.
Not by making a branch but moving their burrow to the village.
Xerx thanked them and they began searching the Forrest for those that need help.
The groundbreaking diggers joined his group. As they finished searching their part of the Forest they rescued 30 rat burrows, 20 mice nests, 15 bee colonies, 25 ant colonies 5 sparrow families, 6 frog species and many more.
They quickly ran to ratsburg to began getting ready for the main army.
What Xerx could find out was that it was an invasion from dark mist swamp and dark wood forest.
And that their main army is a day away.
As they arrived at Ratsburg Xerx saw the other teams already there with a lot of new faces. Xerx began telling everyone what he knew and saw the worried faces of everyone.
So he began making a speech it sounded like this.
Hello, everyone, I am Xerx from ratburg the village your now in.
I know the situation is dire and I am a stranger to most of you.
But I say I am not gonna let them take this village away from us.
Yes, I said us because this is our village from now on and our Forrest.
Are we gonna let them take it without a fight?
I don't think so at least I ain't who is with me.
As he finished everyone began making noise in agreement.
So he began telling them his plans his first plan was to finish making the village as soon as possible.
Starting with the village wall and underground village.
Secondly laying traps and training in teamwork as much as they could.
they finished the night of the day the army should be attacking.
Just as they thought they won't be coming anymore they saw them.
It was time to defend Ratsburg our home.
