Fighting thugs

Rastel kept on hunting animals throughout the forest for an entire day. With his level up to 2, the next animal he saw which was a fox was easily blasted to death by a fire ball. His proficiency and speed were terrifying as he mostly kept hunting bears, which were at the top of the food chain in the forest.

Soon, he was at level 4 and his leveling speed slowed down considerably. Hunting down level 5 bears was not thrilling enough anymore, he easily blasted them to death.

"Looks like it's almost time for me to leave this village" he said as he looked at his stats. His proficiency with his skills was very high and he easily leveled them up.

He had put the three stat points he earned from leveling up into each of all his stats except mentality and intelligence which were already at a high level due to his racial perk.

He first increased agility by 3 so he running away would be much easier before adding the next three to endurance to increase his health. Dexterity and strength were next in that order. Now that his physical stats were increased, he felt more comfortable with his body.

He went into town to sell off his loot and sold them all for 400 kryts. He needed the money to travel to the capital. Hiring mounts were expensive so he needed enough food to last him through his journey to the capital. The areas around the capital had far stronger animals and even demons.

In the game, normal animals like bears and tigers similar to that of Earth existed. There are also weird ones like the 'Bulees' which are deer-like but had horns made out of a metal-like material with thick manes. These animals stood at the bottom of the food chain.

After them were the Magic beasts, basically strong beasts that could wield magic. Normal animals could also evolve into Magic beasts should they luckily go through what was known as an awakening.

Then after those were the primordial beasts, these beings had incomprehensible strength. Just one of them could easily take down a kingdom, they were immense in size and had large amounts of mana. They were only behind the legendary four end dragons in strength, but luckily, only a few of them exist.

After selling off all he had, he went to a blacksmith's shop nearby to buy a hammer and a small anvil. The one job Rastel was interested in was smithing, the idea of all the things he could create in this new world filled him with joy and anticipation. He also bought a lot of iron ingots and a small cauldron for the cooling process.

After that, he bought a whole lot of buns. They were cheap, sweet, and small so he could carry a whole lot of them. He had to make sure he didn't starve to death.

He was still wearing his novice clothes as he had nothing better to wear for the moment. As a mage, he needed robes to depict his class but a small village could only give him low-level ones with no special stat attached to it. He decided to let it go for now, he would get something better once he reached the capital.

He got set and finally started on the path out of the village. He was in high spirits as he thought of all the possible encounters he would have on his way to the capital.

"Adventure, adventure, this world is pretty amazing!" he sang happily to himself as he walked.

He hadn't gone far when he heard a rustle coming from the forest on the left side of the path. He quickly activated stealth and went over to the right side and hid. He didn't know what was out there, better to be cautious and avoid trouble.

He was quietly watching when he saw a familiar face running out of the forest with a scared face constantly turning to look behind her.

"Lou!" he called out as he came out of hiding. It was the beast girl who helped him find the library.

"Mister!" she looked at him in shock first then ran to him when she recognized him.

"Please save me! Some bad men are after me. They kidnapped me and my brother and some others too. My brother cut my ropes and is fighting the bad men to help me escape but they're still following me and I think they'll kill my brother! I am so scared! Please help us please!" she babbled aimlessly with tears in her eyes.

"Calm down girl, calm down, it's alright, you're safe now". He patted her back as she cried in his arms

"Hey! Over here! I've found the girl!"

A voice sounded out from the forest.

Four men came out of the forest holding swords. They looked at Rastel before looking at the girl in his arms as they surrounded them. Rastel looked at their levels suspended above their heads.

'Shit they're all level 4!'

One of the men in front spoke while pointing his sword to threaten Rastel.

"The beast girl is with us, let go of her now and be on your way muan."

"Now why would I want to do that" Rastel said with a glint in his eye. "It's obvious she wants to be nowhere near you guys"

"Don't test my patience! Do you think you can fight off four of us? Muan weakling!" the man retorted.

"We'll just have to find that out now won't we?" Rastel said smiling grimly as he pushed Lou to his back.

One of the men moved forward as he saw Rastel taking a stance.

"It's just a damn muan anyway, I'll take care of him". He walked over as he raised his sword for the kill.

"Let's make this quick!" he said as he brought down his sword straight towards Rastel's neck.

Boom!

Rastel stomped the ground as an earth pillar rushed towards the man and slammed him hard in the stomach sending him flying.

The men immediately rushed him as he sent a fire ball towards one.

Whoosh!

The man screamed and fell as it landed on his face. The men faltered a bit as they saw their companion on the floor screaming his lungs out.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this? Our boss is not someone you want to offend." one of the men said.

"I make my own rules grunt, come at me" Rastel said waving his arms to taunt them.

The remaining two spread out as they watched Rastel warily from the sides. This muan was a surprisingly strong mage. They had to proceed with caution. They looked at each other and nodded as if coming to an agreement before facing him again.

Suddenly, one of them moved. He ran at Rastel with a quick speed as he swung his sword horizontally.

Rastel sent an earth pillar at him to send him flying but the man was ready. He used his sword to parry the pillar as he shifted to the right. Rastel was surprised, he didn't think they were capable of dodging it. Before he could snap out of it, the man was already in front of him with his sword raised. He quickly summoned a water shield to block the blow.

The man felt his sword slow down as it sliced into the water shield, it seemed to resist the man's strength on the sword until the sword completely stopped. He couldn't push it forward anymore!

He raised his head only to see Rastel's hand grabbing his face as he blasted him with a fire ball which exploded immediately it left his arm.

Rastel turned to face the other guy only to see the man already near him with his sword out to stab.

"SHIT!" Rastel tried to dodge but his speed was too slow.

The sword made a sickening sound as it sliced straight into his stomach!
