Nova POV

I woke up feeling like crap. The cabin is too hot and I feel dirty. This boat doesnt have a real shower so my only choice is the ocean. I walked outside and got dressed to my boxers. I then jumped into the ocean. All I can say is... Refreshing. The sea is a tad bit chilly but felt great. I know Devil Fruit users should become hammers in sea water but it seems I'm an exception to the rule. I feel refreshed when I'm in water. I can even propel myself out of the water with ease. I hope they believe I'm Rayleigh's son. After swimming a around the boat a few times and admiring my genius forethought, I jumped back on board.

Monet was awake and using the poor excuse of a bathroom to clean herself. To avoid any trouble, I stayed in the front of the ship. I grabbed my pipes and started doing basic swings with both hands. As I got into my own rhythm, Monet came out of the washroom with her light green hair in a bun. She walked to me and held out her hand.

Monet: Give me a pipe, I will practice with you.

.

I instantly jumped into the water and sprang out.

Nova: Who are you and what have you done with M...onet?

.

Monet: That time you almost finished your sentence without your powers stopping you. I want to get stronger. I like swords but my dream is to find a strong Devil Fruit. Young Master said he would give me a strong fruit if I became useful to him. I need to get revenge on someone.

She wants revenge on someone? I dont remember that in Canon... we didnt get to see much of her background to begin with...

After another quick dip, I ask her...

Nova: Who do you want revenge on?

Monet looks at me and shakes her head. She grabs a pipe and starts swinging. As we spar, Rosinante wakes up and watches us. Monet is much better with a sword then I am and it's easy to see. I've been mostly on the defensive with only throwing an attack out once in a blue moon. We keep swinging at eachother but Rosinante stops us.

He then writes...: What will swinging wildly do for you two? Before you try to learn to use a Sword, make sure your body is able to handle it. Brat, start doing pushups. Monet, stand on his back balancing on 1 foot. I want 200 pushups and no more then 3 falls.

I jumped into the ocean for a second and bounced out fast enough to make a rainbow.

Nova: Why does she get to just balance but I need to do pushups with her on my b...ack. It...wil... l hu...rt.

Almost forgot to keep up my "Rules".

Rosinante wrote a question for me...: Why do you think you cant attack her as often as she attacks you? On on the other side, Monet... why do you think he can block your every attack?

After another quick dip. We both answered at the same instant.

Nova: Mans chivalrous spirit of not wanting to hit a woman.

Monet: Hes a turtle and only good at defence.

.

Dafuk did she just say? Who's a turtle? We started fighting again but the outcome was almost the same as earlier. Monet was laughed and started calling me a turtle. I was about to lose my shit when Rosinante clapped and drew our attention.

He wrote...: Brat, shes just down right stronger then you. You have more natural endurance but she has more skill and strength. On the other end, you have more stamina and balance. Your balance let's you take more hits so you will end up making her quit of exhaustion before you can attack properly.

That's quiet alot to put on a small piece of paper... Monet had to read it aloud and started laughing even more.

Monet: So I'm stronger then the weak turtle?

.

I instantly fell on the floor and started doing my push ups. I will not be weaker then a girl or continue to be a turtle. Time to go full Zoro and train till I can throw buildings. I got to 20 pushups before Monet jumped on my back. She was balancing on 1 foot and purposefully digging her heal into my back.

This continued for 5 hours for weeks. After a week, I had to switch to 1 handed pushups and she swapped to a handstand. 3 weeks later, I had to alternate from hand to hand and she started doing yoga on my back. She was having a hard time but I was fine so Rosinante started taking random swings at my hands as I did my pushups. I had to hop to avoid the blow so Monet would fall sometimes. Anytime she fell, she would grab a pipe and swing at me angrily. We would then spar and see how far we've come.

One night, Monet woke me up and pulled me outside. She pulled me to the edge of the boat and walked away. She came back with the same rope that was used to tie me up on our first storm at sea. She tied one end securely to the post and threw the rope overboard.

Monet: I need to talk to you in private. Jump overboard and hold on.

.

Huh? You want me to jump off the ship in the middle of the night into the cold water so we can talk? I shake my head and wave my arm. No way.

.

Monet: Please!! I need to talk to you without Corizon hearing. I cant have this getting back to Joker. I will go in right after you but... I will need to hold on to you.

.

Monet: I cant swim...

.

... out of 3 people on the ship, 2 are Devil Fruit users and the last one cant swim... arnt we fucked if the boat sinks?! If shes willing to go so far...

.

I picked her up in one arm and jumped off the boat. On my way down, I grabbed the rope and stopped right before we hit the water. I lowered us silently into the sea and let us drift toward the end of the slack. Once I was comfortable with the rope...

Nova: Ok. whisper. No funny business please. Its chilly.

Monet: Ok. I'll get straight to my point then. I dont want to be in Young Masters "Family". He and his executives all look at me like I'm a tool to be used to further their goals. I want to get free from them but... I need help in getting revenge on someone. Will you help me escape and help me get my revenge?

I'm flabbergasted at my ears. She wants to leave Dingos crew willingly? What brought this about?

Nova: What changed? I'm sure you would have seen their looks from the start... why the change of heart?

.

Monet: Well... you.

.

Fishy. Fishy as HELL. She cant have the hots for me so fast. I'm 12 and shes 14. I'm like a kid to her. If she likes them young... THATS EVEN WORSE!!!

Nova: What about me? Did... did you fall in love with my good looks and dashing personality?

Wham! I got punched in my face full force. I almost let go of the rope.

Monet: HELL NO!! When you got here, I dont know if you remember, you read Joker. You said hes a Former World Noble. I want revenge on a World Noble and I doubt Joker would be ok with me hunting one of his... "Kind".

Ok... that makes more sense. But what World Noble could she have beef with?

Nova: How long have you been with Jokers crew? What World Noble do you want to get back on?

Monet: I have been with Joker for 2 months and the name of the Noble I am after... is Vinsmoke Judge who rules over the Germa Kingdom and Germa Double 6. In his Conquest of Four Nations, Judge killed the rulling families of 4 North Blue Nations. In doing so, He killed my parents and sister because the King of my hometown was known for his frivolous actions. He had over 40 illegitimate children... of which I'm the last one alive. At age 7, they attacked the kingdom and my mother blew up our house to make it look like we died from an explosion. My mother was about to give birth to my sibling but as we were running, she was shot. Before I knew it, she pushed me onto a Germa boat and told me to hide.

I listened to her story quietly. No joking or funny business. I hated Judge in the Anime but its 1000 times worse now. I might just go destroy the entire Germa 66 when I am strong enough. Monet is crying now.

Monet: But then I met her... the blond lady with a pink haired baby girl. She took me and hid me till the fighting was over. Once it was, she put me back on the island safely and said to run. I looked for my mom but I couldnt find her. The new king was killed 6 years later so the country fell apart. I hid on a boat and found myself on Spider Mile 3 months before you showed up. I joined for 2 months then Corizon brought you.

As I listened, I made my decision. I started climbing back up the rope to the ship. Monet had a death grip on me.

Monet: Will you help me?

I nodded to her then said...

Nova: We need to talk to Corizon.

.

She seemed happy for a second until she heard my words.

Monet: WHAT!! NO, HES AN EXECUTIVE OF JOKER AND HE HATES KIDS THE MOST!! YOU WILL GET ME KILLED!!

Nova: You trusted me enough to tell me this, just trust me a little more. You wont be harmed in any way. Oh, I havent told you my full name yet.

.

Monet: Your full name? I dont care!! Your bringing me to my grave!!

.

Nova: No I'm not, I'm setting your mind and body free. You think your on this boat with an enemy and a kid... but your actually surrounded by allies. Just watch.

.

She was shaking as she held on to me. We climbed up and onto the boat and I was out of breath. Ok so climbing up a rope with a girl on my back as we were both drenched isnt easy. She was shaking even more but I know it's not from the cold.

Nova: Stand behind me and just listen when we talk. I'll explain it to you soon.

.

Monet: Ok. I hope you know what your doing. Also, that was your longest talk after leaving the water yet.

.

I smiled at her.

.

Nova: Come on out Rosinante! We need to talk!!

.

Monet: Hold on... your still talking?! Did your fruit problem get fixed?

.

Rosinante came out of the cabin looking mad until he caught Monet and I drenched from head to toe.

.

Nova: She wants out of the Jokers crew. I officially take her into mine. Is that a problem Marine Commander Rosinante?

.

Monet looked even more confused now that I'm calling Rosinante a Marine. Rosinante on the other hand looks relieved when he heard me.

.

Nova: We are also getting married and expecting a baby in 9 months. Will you be the God Father?

.

Rosinante/Monet: WHAT!!!

.

Monet: Huh?

.

Monet looked around as confused as all hell. She looked at Rosinante as he held his mouth and started sweating.

.

Monet pointed shakily at Rosinante and stammered: You can talk?

.

Nova: And with that... the jigg is up. Monet, you are looking at the only 2 people who are in Doflamingo's crew that are working to destroy it from within. Let me properly introduce myself. My name is Nova, Doflamingo's enemy. The trouble with my Devil Fruits was a lie to get away from Dingo with Rosinante as me escort. The fact that you tagged along is my good luck.

Monet slid to her knees with her eyes wide opened.

Rosinante started scratching his head and let out a sigh. He gave me a dirty look, then gently looked at Monet on the floor. He gave her a Marine salute and proudly spoke.

Rosinante: Marine Commander Donquixote Rosinante at your service. I apologize for my behavior undercover.

.

Monet started to cry again. Her cries were different from before though. I sat on the wet floor and rubbed her back. Rosinante walked away to give us a minute alone.

Nova: So Monet, I want to formally invite you to join my pirate crew that will officially set sail when I turn 17. Do you want to travel the world with me? I will help you with your revenge in a way you wont be disappointed with.

.

She looked up to me and stared for a minute. I had a wide smile on my face as I waited for her to make up her mind.

.

Monet: You will help me get my revenge... even if it's on a...

.

I covered her mouth before she could say World Noble.

.

Nova: I would help you get revenge on God himself if I had to.

.

Monet POV

This boy. He says the most insane stuff with a smile on his face. He would help me get revenge on God? That's practically what I'm asking him but he said he would do it. Its weird... I believe him. I think he will do it when hes strong enough. I can wait till then.

Monet: Then Yes, I will happily join your crew. Please dont let me down Captain.

.

Nova: I promise that I wont. To prove it to you, I've got something for you...

.

He holds his empty hand out and out of nowhere, a light blue fruit pops into existance on his palm. Its light blue with a white undertone. it looks like an apple but its color is all wrong.

.

Nova: This is the Yuki Yuki no Mi Devil Fruit. It's the Logia Devil Fruit of Snow. After eating it, you will never swim again. Is that ok with you?

.

I stared at the fruit. This is what Joker promised me after a job well done. He is giving me one of the most rare types of Devil Fruits like it's a piece of extra candy.

Monet: Are you sure? You could eat this yourself and get really strong...

.

Nova: I already ate a strange fruit. I cant have another. I love treasure but my crew is my ultimate prize. The hidden treasure "One Piece"... I want to find it. I dont want to be King of the Pirates but I want to explore every ocean and visit every island. As my first act as "Captain"... eat the fruit and become strong. I cant tell the difference between North and Wumbo. I know you like to read and learn so... can you be my Navigator as well? If you say go into the Typhoon... The Typhoon better be ready.

I looked at my new "Captain" in amusement. I took the fruit from his hand and before I took a bite...

.

Monet: Understood. I will learn how to navigate the world so you can travel it without worry.

.

I took a bite of the fruit and it tasted delicious. It was minty and cool. I started crying again but my tears came out as snowflakes. My body turned completely white and I felt free.
