Chapter 7: Ice Imprisonment spellbook ch.6
He followed his master into a basement area filled with books. „Those books are all spellbooks, choose one. I will wait here until you made your choice," said the master. Alex was impressed, so many spellbooks in one room. He carefully looked at every book trying to find the spellbook that fits him the best.
He spent multiple hours just browsing through spellbooks, trying to find out what spell is the best for him. And finally he found a book that seemed fitting for him, the spellbook of Ice imprisonment. He still didn't like to kill, so a spell that makes people unable to fight without killing them was perfect for him.
He showed his master the spellbook he chose „Master this is the spellbook that I want". His master was surprised. He didn't expect that Alex would choose this spellbook. „Alex tell me why did you choose this spellbook."
„Master I met a bunch of bandits on the way to Ice Phoenix Sect. Back then I realized how cruel this world is, I would like to have a fighting style that makes my enemies unable to fight without having to kill them or hurt them badly. Therefore I believe that the spellbook of Ice imprisonment is the best choice for me."
His master got more and more surprised, he didn't expect Alex to look forward so much in the future when he chose the spellbook. Alex was still only a child, but he seemed to be really intelligent for his age. And not just that, he also chose to walk a path that doesn't contain blood, but would he really be able not to kill for his entire life?
„OK Alex this isn't a bad choice, you are good child. But remember that you are gonna have to kill one day. And often not killing your enemies is harder than it is to take their life, so train hard or you won't have the strength to defeat them without killing them."
„Yes Master I understand, I will train hard and will never slack off."After Alex chose his spellbook he started training again, he would train the Ice palm technique in the morning and the ice imprisonment spellbook in the evening. This was his daily routine, and he made good progress.
The Ice imprisonment spellbook gave him troubles at first but eventually he got behind how it works. The spellbook would follow him for the rest of his life, every spellbook has multiple spells some simple and some more complex. Only after reaching the master rank would you be allowed to choose an extra spellbook.
Years passed like this and Alex was now 12, he had made really good progress and managed to master many spells. He also reached the intermediate rank and lucky reached the advanced rank. Alex never chose another martial arts technique, he trained the Ice palm technique all this time and managed to reach a new form of mastery over it. He combined it with his ice imprisonment spells and invented his own close combat style that made enemies unable to fight without having to hurt them at all.
Lucky also understood that Alex wasn't a fan of killing, so lucky trained his ice bite and got better control over it. Something like the incident with the bandits wouldn't happen again. Now that Alex was 12 he was old enough to enter the tournament of branch sects.
