Chapter 60: Chapter 59 - Peaceful meeting

Ernie stood before the three tails, something he's done plenty of times in the past years. Over time, the two of them grew pretty close. Even though the three tails didn't admit it, he liked being worshipped.

It gave him another perspective of humans.

"We can be considered close friends… right?"

Ernie asked.

"Friends… I never thought about it that way. I've never had a friend before…"

The three tails responded.

Ernie chuckled.

"We see each other often and hang out, I think we can be considered friends."

Ernie said.

"Friends… friends… ok!"

Ernie nodded.

"Good, but as a friend I have a favor to ask of you."

Ernie started and paused.

"Speak."

The three tails didn't like waiting around much, suspense killed him.

"Well, we both know you'll be around longer than I will… I just want you to promise me you'll try to protect my family."

Ernie said with a smile as he told the three tails his intentions.

"This! I can try, but what does your family need protecting from? I've seen what you are capable of and even felt it. You shouldn't have anything to worry about."

The three tails stated.

Ernie shook his head.

"It's the thought that counts. Besides, in this world you can never be too sure of anything. Being strong is like a double edged sword, while you are revered in the light you are hated in the dark. When there is too much power in a person's hand, others feel threatened and there is no telling what will happen."

Ernie said.

Thinking about it, Ernie's words were true.

No matter how great a dynasty was in history, no matter what they achieved. Eventually it all became history as the family went extinct.

For Ernie, although he may not be around to see it, he didn't want to see his clan die out.

Even in his own village, he could sense a subtle change in the air. Madara has gained infamy, and wasn't afraid to show off his strength. In this world, it was hard not to know who he was.

Meanwhile, Ernie beat Madara. A man that a large majority of shinobi couldn't touch.

Behind the smiles and warm gazes, Ernie could sense a bit of fear. Sometimes, he even felt as if people were looking at him as if he were some sort of trophy.

He had his own worries, and the three tails words helped calm him down a little.

Ernie coughed as he tasted a bit of iron on his tongue.

"Are you alright?"

The three tails questioned him.

Ernie thought this was his way of showing his worry for himself.

"Yeah, just a small cold. I'll get over it shortly."

Ernie said with a smile as he clenched his fist to hide the blood.

The three tails wasn't dumb, it could sense something was off. Although he was worried, he wasn't planning on prying anything out of Ernie. It just wasn't in his nature.

"I finally found you, but it seems someone else got here before me!"

A voice yelled out as a man stepped into the temple spotting Ernie and the three tails.

Ernie turned noticing a tall tan skinned man with long black hair. There was a forehead protector that showed the symbol of the hidden leaf.

Ernie was still wearing his kage outfit, which was a white robe with blue lining, along with a blue hat with the word for Kōrikage on it.

"You're a long way from home, aren't you?"

Ernie told the man as he glared at him with a cold gaze.

"I heard tales of a temple that held a beast that was praised as a god. It got me thinking it might be one of the tailed beasts, so I wanted to check it out. Turns out I was right."

The man said.

"And?"

Ernie asked.

The man laughed lightly.

"Friend, I come in peace. I do not want to start anything, instead of fighting we should try to live in harmony."

Ernie grinned.

"What do you think we've been doing for all these years?"

Ernie asked with a smirk on his face.

The man was shocked by Ernie's words but nodded his head.

"I must admit, I envy you just a bit. Living out in your own world, with liltte conflict."

The man stated as he sighed.

"Little conflict? Ha, you wouldn't even begin to understand."

Ernie said.

His village has already been attacked a few times, but it's become less now. After realizing how powerful the village was, people began to avoid it altogether.

"What do you say we sit and talk. I'm interested in your stories."

The man spoke.

This time, Ernie was a bit surprised.

He assumed Hashirama would try to fight him over the three tails, but he seemed to have something else on his mind once he saw Ernie interacting with the creature.

While Ernie did notice Hashirama before he entered, he was curious as to what he would do. Was he curious about the village, or the three tails. It wasn't long before he found himself in front of Ernie. So, Ernie assumed this is what he was after and was ready to attack.

"Sure."

Ernie agreed.
