Chapter 30: Chapter 29 - Bashira
With Hina leading the way, their small group of four moved towards a remote location that took them three hours by walking. They found themselves at a pond with a totem on the edge of it.
"What is this?"
Nija asked with a curious gaze as she walked towards the totem.
The totem itself did not look special, but the head looked like a demon. At least from Ernie's eyes that's how it looked.
"Don't touch it! You don't know what it is."
Hina rushed forward and stopped Nija from touching the totem.
Ernie walked close to the totem and examined it, he noticed that it was actually facing the direction of Ninja's clan.
"You think this is what's keeping the barrier up?"
He asked as he looked towards Hina.
Hina nodded.
"The barrier will vanish once we destroy that, but whoever put it up will surely notice."
"When that happens, let me handle them!"
Himari patted her chest as she spoke.
"If we wait long enough, the person should come back."
Ernie told them.
Himari nodded her head.
"Yes, let's wait for them! I want to try out that technique Ernie taught us."
"Alright, let's wait then."
Hina said as she looked in the pond. Suddenly a small fish jumped up causing Hina to be startled and tumbled backwards.
"Was that just a fish?"
"I believe so, but how can a fish live here?"
All three of them were confused and glanced at Nija.
"What are you looking at me for?"
She asked them as she too was confused.
A figure emerged from the pond, it was a woman with long blue hair and black eyes. She had flawless fair skin which she showed off due to her being naked.
None of them were expecting this, and Hiamri covered Ernie's eyes.
"Why are you covering my eyes!?"
Ernie asked as he tried to remove her hand, but Hina also joined in and covered his eyes.
The woman looked at the four of them.
"I thought I sensed something familiar, turns out that the two of you have a bit of Ahmya's chakra. Are you two her daughters?"
The woman asked.
"How do you know our mothers name?"
Himari asked the woman.
"So you are, it must be fate that brought you here as it is not easy to come to this location. Only those pure of heart may find this place. I am Bashira the Great Fish Sage."
Bashira told them.
"Great Fish Sage? What is that?"
"It means I am a sage a master of Senjutsu. You mother was also a sage."
"I've never heard of this before, nor have I heard of Senjutsu."
Hina replied.
Bashira nodded, it wasn't something many people would know about.
"It's a special type of jutsu that uses natural energy which not only strengthens the body and chakra while also allowing you to use various other jutsu you wouldn't normally be able to do."
Ernie seemed to recall something, he could faintly remember that Naruto had learned senjutsu. It's been a long time but there was a transformation he called Sage Mode. Naruto learned it at a place far away, and he was sure this wasn't it.
"Isn't there a mountain or cave or something like that which also teaches Senjutsu?"
Ernie asked as he spoke with no confidence in his voice.
Bashira nodded.
"Mount Myoboku and Ryuchi Cave but they are more known as it is easier for people to access them than it is to come here. Not many people have a pure heart, and those that do may not come to this place."
"Why did we Hina track the chakra that formed a barrier on Nija's clan back here?"
Ernie questioned her.
"I do not know the answer to that, but if it's answers you seek you may ask."
"Do you know who is responsible for the barrier?"
Nija asked Bashira.
"Two men who wish to sacrifice your clan for their own power. They believe that by doing so, they will be granted an endless amount of chakra. If you wish to know their location, it's not too hard to find. West of your clan you'll find a cave where they are hiding."
After she finished speaking, she turned to look at Hina and Himari.
"You two already have half of your mothers chakra, meaning you have small portion of natural energy in your body. The small blue dot on your forehead shows that, but due to neither of you knowing how to absorb it you cannot create the Lunar Seal. I can teach you, if you want to know."
Hina and Himari looked at each other and hesitated.
"You should take it, not everyone is a sage."
Ernie said as he smiled.
"How long will it take?"
Hina asked her.
"If you're fast a year, if not then more."
Hearing her, the girls shook their heads. That was too long for them, how could they leave Ernie.
"I think that is short, and this opportunity doesn't come easily. We can meet again!"
Ernie told them.
Hina and Himari had doubtful looks on their faces.
"Hina, he's trying to get rid of us right?"
"Yes, it seems so. Maybe while we are gone he'll find another wife."
Ernie's eye twitched… he wasn't even thinking about that.
