"Alright... But what if I do this?!" - Mirta exclaimed impatiently and poked the sphere of Mana. It had been a few days since her discovery and so, she tried to influence her power into going where she wanted it to be - her bones and muscles! She wanted to make them tougher and, at last, be able to sit.
However, it wasn't cooperating. Nor was it planning to submit to her master! The waves the orb would send never went in the direction it was ordered to. She wanted them to be in her spine? Nah, let's go to your eyes. The battle between Mirta and Magic was constantly ongoing for around a week now and eventually, the girl lost her bearing.
The light slowly enveloped Mirta's finger and moved on, quickly reaching the rest of her body. She squealed and yanked her hand away since the Mana was unbearably hot this time as if the pure rage was concentrated in this wave. Mirta pulled her burning hand closer to her chest, tightly bracing it and glared at the ball in front of her.
"I will find a way to deal with you one day!" - She promised and disappeared from the Mind Space, not noticing how her Mana extended some strings and sent a wave of energy to the hurt hand as if trying to apologise for its misbehaviour.

After the incident, Mirta would continuously try to approach her power with different methods. She tried to be confident and domineering, only to be fully ignored by her Mana. She attempted to be pushy and got a backlash in the form of a headache outside of her Mind Space, causing her parents to have a sleepless night.
The girl learnt her lesson and never approached the orb with the intention of being in command or rule.
Three weeks in, her experimenting brought her to, what she thought, a discovery of a way to get her Mana to listen. She asked politely and respectfully after she remembered, how people would chant spells in light novels. The unceasingly moving energy seemed to freeze for a mere moment but continued its dance as if nothing interrupted it.
The girl strived again and this time, a small string exited the mass of energy and moved in the direction of the caller. Mirta stared at the approaching Mana with unease, with painfull memories still being fresh; however, she never budged an inch. From what she observed, Magic didn't like cowards.
The thread started to twist into a tiny sphere and, eventually, reached the outstretched, shacking palms of a child.
Mirta held the small, quivering ball of light in her hands anxiously, not daring to even breathe on it.
"This piece of you looks so fragile." - She turned to the main source of her magic and said with a gentle smile.
The light flickered in response as if trying to say something.
"Yeah..." - Mirta listened to the warm feeling in her chest to get the meaning. - "I promise not to direct it outside." - She said so as she pushed the light into her body, absorbing it. - "Do you mind if I'll come here regularly to take some for my development?"
The light beamed, showing that it wasn't against the idea.
"Thank you!"
One more month have had passed by since then.
"Dear, look! Our Mirta can sit!" - Father called out to Mother who was outside getting the laundry done.
Amelia returned inside of the house with an empty basket, expecting to see her husband playing with their treasure again, yet, this time Keim wasn't joking.
Baby Mirta struggled to keep herself from falling back and stubbornly remained seated, waiting for her Mother to show up and see her progress. Mother gasped with her hands covering her mouth and hastily made her way to her daughter.
"You did very well, sweetie! Our little Angel is so gifted!" - She cheered, twirling on a place with her baby in hands. Mirta was jolly as well until she noticed her Mother's hidden worry through her eyes.
The girl searched for her Dad and he didn't appear to be bothered at all.
'Why would Mother get so worked up?' - Mirta wondered as she was placed in the crib in the sleeping chamber and lullabied to sleep.
"Shouldn't she be happy?" - The child wondered, sitting next to the warm Mana. - "If I remember correctly, mothers are usually delighted when their kids learn something new, then why... oh... Oh. OH!" - She opened her mouth in realisation.
Of course, she would be worried! She wouldn't know that I was speeding up the process with magic! It's usually harmful to baby's heath to sit too early and Mother most likely had already known this if she talked to anyone who had kids!
"I'm so sorry, Mom!" - Mirta face-slapped her wide forehead with rarely thinking brain hiding behind it. - "I'll be a lot more careful from now on! You won't even notice!"

Amelia entered the living room and saw her husband picking up Mirta's toys. She let him continue his work and went to prepare lunch.
"Mirta grows up so fast." - Kelm gleefully stated. - "I was like this too."
"Yeah." - Amelia smiled in response. - "She appears to be very gifted. I..." - She squeezed the stirring spoon.
"You're afraid that she might catch their unwelcomed attention?" - He hugged her from behind, gently kissing her temple. - "It'll be fine! When she gets a little older, we will explain everything to her. She is a bright girl, she'll understand!"
"Sure." - The wife of this house sighed, relieved after getting her man's support. He might be a goofball, but he is very reliable. - "Thank you."
"But that aside, isn't our girl the best?" - He quickly returned to his foolish side.
"She is." - Amelia nodded. - "Though I'm afraid, I won't have enough milk for her soon. She grows so fast and needs more food." - She sighed, stirring the ingredients in the pot.
"We can start feeding her some porridges after a month." - Father mulled with a serious voice, keeping a wide grin plastered on his face.

Since yesterday, Mother was restless and was running around the house, cleaning, washing and polishing everything. All of our clothes and sheets were fresh, floor sparkly and she was tired but content.
Mirta was sitting in her cradle, playing with handmade dolls given to her as presents. Mother was here as well, finishing something she was working on for a while. Father was still in the fields but promised to return home before it got dark, which is actually really late. Because there are two suns, the day was longer - around twenty-seven to twenty-eight hours. Mirta tried but wasn't able to find out for sure. The evening would start at around seven-past-noon, so he was coming back when the girl would be already asleep.
'It's a pity. I was expecting to play with him.' - She still couldn't talk, but after her blunder with quick development, she never took too much Mana again and only used a bit to speed up her growth. She wasn't in a hurry. No one wants to become an old lady before she was even thirty, right?
Mirta also felt that way. However, it didn't mean that she was slacking off. No, she was training her body by moving around as much as she could and by her modest calculations, at her current rate, she will be able to crawl in half-a-month or a month later.
She tossed the toy out of the bed and it landed on the floor. The baby-girl lied down and stared at the ceiling. She was bored. Mirta had already watched all of the interesting parts of her past life as Luiza Tsiranova and a model and didn't see any reasons to see her day-to-day life. She had her own to worry about.
'Now that I think about it, I don't feel anything about my past. Actually, I feel like it has nothing to do with me and I'm just a bystander. Maybe, it's for the best.' - She closed her eyes.
Mirta could think rationally, well, she tried to, and she could understand that having no feelings for her past is actually a blessing. She felt the same way about her not remembering close people from that world. She would've become insane from all of the emotional torture being piled up with her physical, baby condition.
'Oh, no...' - Her eyes flared open when she remembered one more thing she'll have to go through in her days as a baby. Growing teeth. - 'And I can do nothing to change this fact' - She brooded. She could've influenced their appearance, making it sooner or later, but was afraid to do so. Up until now, she was equally distributing Mana all over her body, so it would develop normally, but faster; however, she was scared to change the natural flow of things by choosing something to develop faster. She knew that consequences could be dire and resolved herself for the upcoming pain.
"What's wrong, dear?" - Her Mother asked with a gentle, soothing voice, picking her up. Mother probably noticed that she stopped playing with her toys and decided to check up on her, only to see a displeased baby. - "Are you bored?"
If Mirta could respond without alerting her, she would nod, but she only smiled as a baby would.
"It's fine. Tomorrow, you'll meet many other children and play with them. You are becoming five-months-old at last, right?" - She cheerfully announced and kept Mirta a company until the Land of Dreams took the baby back into its exciting realm.
