Monica was stunned, "did I just hear you say you like a girl?!" Malcolm was waiting for her answer and he was perplexed with her question, "Mother were you not paying attention to what I said?" "I knew I shouldn't have asked you for help, I should have just done research on the internet. Never mind Mother forget what I said. Enjoy your lunch, I'll be leaving."
Monica stood up so fast her chair fell over, "Malcolm Joseph Drake, don't you dare leave this room!" Flustered and out of sorts Monica glares at her son, "Is this girl the reason why you turned down the marriage proposal? You already have someone whom you like?" Malcolm sneered, "No, I didn't know her at the time. I met her the day that Father called me over to the house to try and get me to agree with your crazy idea."
Malcolm bent down and picked the chair up and his mother slowly sat down, "oh...so who is she? What am I saying, first what's her name, who are her parents, what do they do for a living, is she pretty? I want beautiful grandchildren, she better be cute Malcolm!" Monica was really a cold woman and she really doesn't show much emotion but she did love her children. She was curious about the girl, surely she must be remarkable enough to make an impression on her son. Malcolm was a little too much like her, he wasn't overly emotional and he was careful not to get attached to people. Malcolm had a goofy smile on his face when he heard his mother ask her questions so fast he couldn't answer them. Because he would be rude if he interrupted he let his mother finish asking her questions before politely answering. " Her name is Elizabeth Holiday-Kim, her father is Johan Holiday the CEO of Holiday Pharmaceuticals, her mother is the renowned surgeon Kyung Kim-Holiday. She's an only child and she is a freshman in college. She's beautiful, intelligent, talented and best of all she has a great sense of humor." As Malcolm talks about her his eyes sparkle and a sweet smile shows in his face, he also blushes a little bit as he remembers the previous night when he dropped her off home after dinner and a movie, he snuck a kiss to her sweet and soft as a peach cheek it was just too much of a temptation for him. Her lovely face showing surprise then turning red as rose, a bashful smile bloomed in her face then she kissed his cheek back and ran away quickly up her steps to the front door were she waved goodbye before swiftly going inside the house.
Monica was speechless for a moment, "Wait she's the heiress of the Holiday-Kim consortium! I heard that the Holiday's are extremely influential and that their daughter is a genius. Wow! My son, how did you manage to get this girl to like you? This is way better than your brother marrying Caroline." Malcolm frowns, "believe it or not Mother, I really don't care about that, I just want to spend the rest of my life with a woman who likes me not because of my connections and wealth but because she loves me."
Monica eyes get soft and misty as she quietly looks at her child, I'm happy that he's going to have a good life full of love. "Darling, mother is just teasing you. I'm happy for you and how lucky is Elizabeth to have a caring boyfriend like you." Malcolm cheerfully smiles, "mother the lucky one is me, I don't really deserve her. Now I just have to get her to officially accept my courtship and then I can make her the future Mrs. Malcolm Drake. That's the tricky part of this situation, Mother I have never really been interested in dating and I'm woefully unprepared for it. I don't know how to make sure she says yes to me."
It is nerve wracking for Malcolm to be so vulnerable and unsettled by this situation, usually he is extremely confident and decisive but he's out of his league. "I think that I will just tell her next time I see her." "Absolutely not, Malcolm you have to set the tone and make it a romantic and unforgettable night for her." Monica starts to tap her fingers on the table as she ponders the problem. Suddenly her eyes light up and she smiles, "I know! Do you remember when your father and I celebrated our anniversary at your godmother's vineyard a few years ago? She has a lovely little cottage that overlooks the vineyard, its extremely beautiful and so romantic there. It will be the perfect place for you to ask Elizabeth to be your official girlfriend, oh darling I am so excited."
Monica didn't mind finding out about Elizabeth mainly because Malcolm was honestly interested in her also she was of a good social status and she was sure that Merrick would be ecstatic to be able to be linked to the Holiday consortium, the advantages they would gain far exceeds the connection to the Yamamoto family. She's happy that both of her sons had a woman in their lives, all she had to do now was wait for the marriages and then for her beautiful grandchildren. "It's settled then. Let me get in touch with Nellie, we'll plan everything for you. Is a week too soon for you to manage your schedule. You'll want to stay there for the weekend. Pack appropriately for the maximum visual appeal, a tuxedo or nice suit that compliments your physique. Hehehehe my son is so handsome that I know she will say yes to him."
