Chapter 34: You Already Know
I head inside and take my shoes off at the door replacing them with the slippers I've left there. After taking my things up to my room I go to the kitchen to wash my hands and I call out to the twins.
"Hey Na-na," Journee says strolling into the kitchen.
"Hey, what do you guys want to do for dinner? I'm thinking pizza and wings," I say to her.
"Pizza sounds good. I'm sure Jackson is good with pizza," she says.
"I'm good with what," Jackson says walking into the kitchen.
"Pizza," Journee and I say at the same time.
"Oh yeah with wings," he says to us.
"Cool, I'm going to order it now. Stay here for a moment though," I say to them and I pull out my phone to call the pizza place to place our order. When I'm done I sit at the table and debate with myself about if I should tell them about what Mekhi told me.
"What's up," Journee says.
"So, Mekhi has told me some things and I have to decide if I'm going to like be, be with him or not. I can't really tell you guys too many details so it's kind of frustrating but what do you guys think," I say to them.
"I mean you obviously like him like a lot and you enjoy being with him. I haven't seen you this happy in a long time not even with Jay. You're going out more, smiling more, just glowing. You already know your answer I don't even know why you're asking us," Journee says and I'm mentally stumped.
"Exactly, unless it's like something terrible which I'm sure it isn't because you would've ran in here like a crazy person cursing him the entire way then just be with him. Don't make it harder than it has to be for yourself you've been through enough so just choose to be happy with the person you like," Jackson says and I'm still speechless at the combined wisdom the twins just gave me without me having to say too much to them.
"WOW! Thanks for that guys, you definitely helped me to stand firm in the decision I'm making. I wanted you guys' opinion on this matter because it kind of affects you too. Really thank you guys for supporting me, I can't believe how mature and wise you have gotten let's keep it between us for now because Mekhi wants to have a meeting with both of our parents to discuss some things and I haven't told him I made my decision yet. I plan on letting him sweat it out for a few days," I say to them.
"Oh Na-na, I'm sure he already knows whether you said something or not," Jackson says shaking his head.
"Whatever, how was your day," I ask.
"It was alright, just some weight training after school preparing for the upcoming baseball season," Jackson says sitting down at the table with us.
"That's good. What about you Journee," I ask her.
"We're working on the big spring play in the drama club. So we'll be busy for the next seven weeks getting everything ready. We're getting ready to hold auditions next week and I'm aiming for the lead role so I'll be practicing my lines this weekend," she says proudly.
"That's cool! I'm so happy for you. I'm rooting for you to get the lead, so if you need help with anything just let me know. Speaking of this weekend Mekhi says that you guys should come to the game this Saturday and he will make sure we have tickets if you guys are interested," I say to them and I can see Jackson's eyes light up.
"Yeah, I definitely wanna go especially because it's a playoff game," Jackson says excitedly.
"I guess I can read my lines after the game if you guys really want to go," Journee says.
"Yes, I really wanna go," Jackson says.
"Cool, I'll let him know," I say. I check my phone to see that he has texted me that he's made it back and I reply with a smiley face and ask him to get the tickets for us for the game Saturday. He agrees and I tell him I'll chat with him later.
We chat for a little while longer then our food arrives. We wash our hands and eat together continuing our chat. Jackson is so excited about the game that he can't stop talking about it. I tell him I'll get him some school spirit wear to wear to the game. Journee tells us more about the play that they're putting on at the school this spring and the role she's looking to acquire. We encourage her to fight hard for what she wants. We talk about what we think our parents are doing while they're away.
Talking so much about our parents they end up calling us. They tell us that they'll be returning on Sunday evening. The twins talk about their day and possible weekend plans. We tell them about going to the playoff game this Saturday and Mekhi getting us tickets to go. We chat with them for a while until they say that they're going to get dinner. When we're finished with the call I clean up the kitchen and put all the leftovers away.
I go upstairs to my room put my phone on the charger and turn on my speaker to play some music as I'm getting ready to shower. I brush and moisturize my hair twisting it before wrapping it up and getting in the shower. Once I'm in the shower I let the hot water cascade over my body as I think about the long day I've had. Mekhi with his biggest secret and me having chosen to be part of it even though he doesn't know it yet. I think about how my parents would react once they find out. I begin washing my skin as I think about the kissing session I just had in Mekhi's room on his bed.
I'm glad he had sense enough to stop us from going further than kissing not to say that I'd regret it, but it does feel a little too soon for that. My goddess (libido) licks her wounds as she takes herself back to bed. When I'm finished washing up I rinse and repeat the process once more then exit the shower to wash and moisturize my face. I touch my lips and neck as shivers run down my spine as I think about Mekhi. I snap out of it and finish my routine moisturizing my body and putting on my pajamas getting ready for bed. I sit at my desk and write in my journal before texting Mekhi goodnight.
Me: Goodnight!
Mekhi: Goodnight baby!
Mekhi: Dream of me!
Me: You dream of me! Lol
Mekhi: Always
Me: Sweet Tongue!
Mekhi: Only for you
I shake my head as I read the bold statement from this guy and can't think of anything in response to him. I place my phone on the charger and turn off the lights in my room. Unbeknownst to him I have been falling asleep thinking and dreaming about him since the day we met. And tonight I fall asleep with him on my mind again.
