Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Selection Part 1
I went to bed after spending a few hours in meditation which wore me out mentally and was the major cause in me seeking my bed without even going for dinner, and this time I slept without dreaming at least once. The following day went by quickly and Obi-Wan amd I were once again in the training hall I had him practicing the fom 3 drills and movements he had learned the day before and then once I felt he had made those moves apart of himself I asked if he wouldn't mind if we had a practice duel, to which he agreed if we could get a Jedi Master to oversee it just in case of an accident and I agreed.
An hour later...
"C'mon Paulus one more round, that's all I'm asking for." Obi-Wan said has he got up from the floor where just a few seconds ago I had planted him with the force though he nearly defeated me in what round I could not remember since I had lost count after the fifth one by the end of this last one both of our tunics were sweat soaked and we were gasping for air and for me that eas enough amd I told Obi-Wan so " We've done enough sparring and it's nearly dinner time and if we have some more things to work on later tonight so lets get cleaned up and meet up later on" a disheartened look appeared on the young jedi's face but he knew I was right, and so we thanked the Jedi who watched over us and we headed back to our rooms and got ready for the dinner hour. As I began to make my way to the dining hall a sound went off in my mind and a screen appeared before me with a message " You have 1 year to complete Obi-Wans preparation time." After reading reading the message thr screen suddenly disappeared, soon I arrived to the dining hall and got in line to get my food which the selection had been set up buffet style, a few moments later I was sitting down scanning the room looking for Obi-Wan who suddenly appeared sitting next to me while I was looking in another direction and made me nearly jump out of my skin with his iconic phrase " Hello there" I held my composure but only barely.
Thirty minutes later we finished up our food and headed to his quarters where I thought it would be best to give Obi-Wan his next lesson without having anyone prying, once we arrived Obi-Wan sat on his bed while I sat at his workbench and began to explain the next part of his training " I've been having you train your lightsaber skills almost non-stop and you're progressing nicely but I can tell you haven't been training your force abilities and that's not good so now your training from here on out will combine both your bladework and force skills together so that your skill set will be second nature,ok." Obi-Wan was a seemed a bit taken aback at what I was saying since we were both thr same age and yet to him I spoke as if he was my apprentice which I instantly realized that my approach was too much and quickly added " If you want to be selected by a master next two years this is what I recommend." to which the young Jedi nodded in agreement and then asked " So how much training are we going to do exactly?" to which I told him that it would be six days with ine day off to recuperate till the following year.
Two years later
An entire year had passed from the time I had set up Obi-Wans training regimen and the young jedi took the challenge head on and in true fashion progressed past his classmates drawing the attention of many Jedi Masters who were looking for an apprentice and just as the time drew near I noticed that Master Qui-Gon Jinn had begun to take notice of Obi-Wan up to the point of watching many of our training sessions with both lightsaber practice and use of the force, still the Jedi Master waited for the day of selection which I also awaited since then I would be selected by a formal master even though Master Yoda had been giving me personal instruction he wanted me to go on missions outside of the temple which he knew would be nigh impossible due to his fame among the law abiding citizens of the galaxy and his infamy among those who were not, thus someone else would continue my training while away from the temple.
Padawan Selection Day.
Finally selection day had come and each of us were instructed to wait in our classroom till our name had been called and when my turn came I was surprised at who was selected as my possible master, Jedi Master Sora Bulq who I knew had a good relationship with JedI Master Mace Windu and would later leave the Jedi Order siding with Dooku and Sidious during the Clone Wars amd with this knowledge it made our first meeting interesting as I wanted to see if I could possibly change this man's future. After walking for quite awhile we arrived at one of the training rooms and Master Bulq began to put me through my paces to see where my skill level was which once I began it somewhat left the Jedi Master in shock though it didn't show on his face his emotions betrayed him especially when I began to perform the blade work of of the various styles I had learned which he recognized that my skills were farther along than most padawans and that the I would easily pass the test he had set after a few minutes he commanded me to stop saying that he'd seen enough and sent me back to the waiting room.
As I sat there waiting I began to go through the system that I had been given since I never really paid attention to it since most of time had been focused on training myself and Obi-Wan and what I discovered left me shocked I had many options to have different teachers from the Star Wars universe but as to how to unlock them I would find out later since I wanted to put my focus on what was going on around me and any distraction I could miss something that could be key to the future, after awhile Obi-Wan who had been called after I had left came back and sat down next to me looking as though he'd just ran a marathon and he began to tell me who had put him in such a state " I'll never again complain about our training sessions" he said which made me laugh " Master Qui-Gon is quite the task master he made me perform various task using the force while dueling with him which is why I look the way I do though he did seem well pleased." With that statement I was sure that Obi-Wan would be selected by Qui-Gon with out any issues now as for myself things felt up in the air.
