Chapter 6: Accident’s Happen

Reality

Nick

"What In the world has happened here!?" Liddy's mother has a slight British accent making her tone altogether seem more serious and demanding. "M-Mother, I-I didn't do it I swear! I was just trying to-." She stops suddenly after realizing that she had worsened the situation by grabbing my hand, I wanted to walk up to her and say "it's ok, it wasn't your fault." As her goofy grin, is replaced by a quivering lip. "Uh, if I may ask sweetheart, who are those two?" Her father asks loosely. Her father always has been a tad absentminded, making tense situations a little more tense at times such as this. "Ah, My name would be Adelina." She says seeming way more straightforward than she had during our short conversations. "Nick and most especially your daughter Liddy have shown me and my friend a great handful of hospitality, but I believe if we don't tend to Nick now, the matter will worsen." Tsuki who was just barely keeping the wound stabilized, and I who could barely tell Adelina from Liddy's mother can almost instantly notice the sudden change in Adelina's voice making it sound more perky, and spontaneous, yet deep with a small lisp when speaking to quickly. The two look in my direction like I just died and came back to life, right under their noses. "Nickalous!" Liddy's mother starts with. She also rushes to me, right by Tsuki. "Richard go get the med kit." She orders. "I'll also prepare the medical bay upstairs." He says before running off. "Don't tell me he did this, or your hell of a mother. Has he ever harmed you this severely before, other than that time?" I shudder remember both moments like they're on instant replay. "No, not like this… AH!" I yelp as she applies more pressure. "HELLO THE BANDAGE WILL BE SOAKED IN HIS ICKY BLOOD IF YOU DO THAT." Tsuki hollers looking excruciatingly uncomfortable with the blood. "The application of pressure should help prevent blood clots from forming." She says kindly. Her Emotions seem to immediately change as her glance approaches her daughter. "Liddy Charlotte Harbord, what have you done now, Nick normally handles his injuries quite well, unless…" Liddy freezes and Adelina seems to have done the same even though I still can't focus, but know I need to stay awake to prevent any further injury, I know that much. "You tampered with it again." "I-It's just he said I this morning that-." "ENOUGH!" Her voices rings throughout the room, scaring fear into whoever hears "ENOUGH!." Her stern voices rings throughout the study. With that being said, I guess the shock gets to me and I falter into a slumber.

Liddy

Reality

It has happened again. Once more someone I hold dear to me falls into darkness, and all I do Is feed it until it is brimming to it's core with an unforgettable aftertaste of a drowsying despair. My family members along with Adelina and Tsuki helped carry nick to our infirmary, but I seemed to only be a burden. Now while my parents do a check up on nick I have to sit with Adelina, quite awkwardly right up to this moment. "So…" Adelina begins with, I look in her direction even though It's hard, I feel like I'm at my limit about to burst into tears. "You and nick have known each other for quite the while, right?" She seemed a little skittish not enjoying the silence of the room we were in, and didn't exactly have a knack for starting up conversations. Although this makes me myself uncomfortable I reply as happily as possible in this state. "Yes I have, about the 4th grade I believe!" My lip quivers making it hard to smile. "You two seem to be close, I find your yearn to care for him calming. Sorry if I was a little harsh on you earlier, you were just worried." Flattery. That's how she ticks. She'll say something nice about the person then apologize. I could be wrong though. I wasn't able to tell if nick was telling the truth, so predicting how she goes on doing things could be a challenge. "Did I stutter or something?" More hostility in her tone, she must think I'm criticizing her. "Oh sorry, I just noticed something peculiar is all." She sharpens her tone once again, "Did you now, I would quite enjoy knowing what you've discovered." I smirk at her ready to strike her down. "Youwere finding an excuse to apologize am I correct?" I can see the mask dissipate from her face. "The clever one aren't you." I have this odd feeling about her, shes just not right… "You could say that, I see nick has fallen for your little charade."She seems to be trying to keep me quiet in front of nick about something, but I don't even know her intentions towards speaking to me, so I continue listening. "I had assumed you had as well, but we all have read situations wrong, haven't we?" I wince reliving the past events, her eyes, they're sharp and undoubtedly filled with some sort of ferocity that frightens me. "Who are you? Really?" She seems to have nearly choked, I assume shes mocking me. But once again her smile dissipate. "To you, I am Adelina Deborah Gill, To myself as well, but some tend to say otherwise…" I am quite confused, how can you not be able to determine who you are, and she doesn't seem to have some type of personality disorder, but I could be wrong there too. "Girls." My mother beckons. " He has been treated, and is conscious enough for conversation." Me and Adelina get up out of our seats in our bland waiting room in the basement, where it had been used many times before. A smile tries to make its way to my face, but I won't let it form… Not after remembering the things here too. "LIDDY!" I then turn around to yet another quite wonderful mess.
