A year has passed and Shandra was no closer to knowing what she was to become. What did a New Moon High Priestess do in the Moon Goddess' universe? With the year came some changes. For one her hair had grown to a length that suited her and framed her face, and the color was changing to a reddish color. She looked though some books to see why but no one knew why. She no longer wore it in a ponytail, it was usually in a braid with her bangs always fell out. Her ability to control wind and water much better than before. She could use both with out a lot of effort, feel that there was a spark of life in everything. But as well somethings stayed the same, not many priestesses would even come near her. She always had space even some of her close friends grew apart. If she had ever wished to have some alone time she would take that back in a blink of an eye.
She had power that grew as the moon grew darker. This power was still so raw and wild. She could help a bit more with chores around the castle. Which she thought that would help with the lonely feeling and possibly make some friends, but she was mistaken.
The green house was in full bloom. The fragrance was beyond compare to normal wild fields. It was like walking into an herb paradise. Every new moon she could cultivate the very essence of the herbs. Making them more plentiful and more potent. In her mind this was her gift, what she was meant to do, help make the herbs for the healing balms and medicine work better. She even found that she had a talent for making better medicine than the current high priestess. But like everything else some things she kept secret.
Her herb journal that never left her side was her pride and joy. Wrapped in the purple fabric Darwin gave her, what seamed like a life time ago. Everything she had learned about the plants in the green house and in her hidden garden back in the clearing.
It was harvest time again, this year was the first year that Darwin and his father was going to take some of their herbs to the market over the mountain. This made Shandra a bit uneasy. There was a feeling deep down that would not go away. She could feel the massive dark storm on the horizon. Something big was coming, something that would change everything for Darwin, The High Priestess, and for Avalon it's self. Something that truly scared her to her core. But Shandra kept pushing that feeling down deeper and deeper, everything is going to be ok, she kept saying to herself.
