Chapter 70: Confusion...
The further along you get on the Astral Road as a Keeper the further and more and more things will unlock and the ring can evolve. That being said though it's a slow process that will start off with nothing when obtaining them to slowly unlocking bits of pieces of abilities. Eventually as you get more and more abilities they eventually start to become more and more impactful. Unless of course the ability you were given by the ring aren't useful to you or are just simply bad. There have been more than several cases of such things occurring but it is on the lower spectrum for most people.
"So it starts slow but once it gets going, it gets going."
Some primary examples of abilities gained can be weapons given form for people to use or for the defensive side a shield. While this is probably the most common outcome it doesn't mean the things given are weak either. If compared to other weapons or shields it is in most cases better depending on your Astral Level. The weapons people receive are also something that grows along with you. With said growth they also gain individual abilities as well as they evolve which is rare for most normal weapons to have. Some people will ignore these weapons at the start and use them later on while others might never touch it in their life it's all up to the individual and what they prefer.
"Well, we both need weapons that's for sure" Looking down at her hands Xelfia recalled the fact that neither of them used a weapon at all when fighting mostly. She knew Xilo never used a weapon because he couldn't get a hold of one he wanted but for her she was simply used to using her claws. But now that she was in a human form she couldn't do that anymore. Luckily just like Xilo she needed and was going to be training herself for the future.
Which would probably start after today for the both of them since after they were done here with their little competition they wouldn't need any more information anytime soon most likely and when they began it was going to start full force for them. "Hopefully it'll be faster, I did get an upgrade in my talent from hitting the Solar Stage, It shouldn't be too bad compared to other humans right?" Looking back at the book she resumed where she had left off again.
Other abilities Astral Rings can offer that aren't weapons can also be things like Defensive bubbles or the like that can handle stronger attacks then their usually capable off to vice versa with attacks. Which are separate from their weapons abilities if they have one and just like the previous statement these abilities can evolve as well or more accurately they are just smaller pieces of a total ability that slowly unlocks the further you get along. Unfortunately there wasn't much specifics besides some generic things listed in the book she was reading.
"Well that's to be expected. Who goes around telling everyone and anyone what their secrets are."
Though she did find some information on two extremely well known abilities that have been told to people. One was defensive while the other was Offensive. Reading she figured out that the seemingly belonged to a couple that were top powerhouses in the world in their era named Elliot and Medel and when they eventually were too old to fight anymore they told the world what their abilities were. Unexpectedly the two abilities had great synergy as well which amazed a lot of people since most abilities are for individuals and generally don't cater towards being used on others. But in return you could also say without the other each ability would be exceptionally weaker as well.
"Couple…?"
The first one was called Knight's Armour well the second one was called Knights Heart . Knight's Armour was a defensive ability that allowed for the user to form a set of armour around his whole body that gave him near impenetrable defense but he couldn't move a muscle in such a situation and was basically a statue but that was where the heart came into play. It was an Offensive ability that allowed the user to control weapons of all sorts using her Free will and it worked regardless of weight or status. Once known as Free Spirit and later changed to Knight's Heart could be done similarly though with anyone that had the skills though but the difference between the two was normal people had to use Astral Energy to move the things they wanted plus some familiarity with how it worked. Also there was a weight limit that couldn't be bypassed unless they were strong enough and That was something no one else could ever use on Knight's Armour since it was extremely heavy to the point where even other top powerhouses couldn't lift it all together if they tried. But since hers ignored it she was able to command the suit of armour to move and make it into a Offensive ability as well.
With this combination they eventually climbed to the absolute top for most of their lives. At the time it was sought to be only the man's Ability that did all the work in the fights while the woman had a different ability herself. Combined with the fact they almost never fought alone people became terrified of such a duo and they became one of the first top tier powerhouses outside of the Royal Families influence. When they later revealed their abilities it shocked the world into a stupor. It turned out all along the man was never the one who actually did anything the whole time. Instead it was the women who people were least afraid of and also with it came the realization that people could combine Astral Ring abilities together unlike the previous notion that such a thing wasn't even possible.
Ironically even though at the time the couple had given up on fighting after becoming to old people still tried to fight them once again with the new information they had obtained but unfortunately they still remained undefeated in the end even with their knowledge.
"Synchronizing abilities eh? sounds interesting."
With that thought Xelfia quickly read through the rest of the section but she was unable to find anything more of use on the Transformation stage anymore. Now she could finally move on to other information that could help XIlo.
"Phew...That was a lot to take in, that's for sure. though it does make me super excited myself to get an Astral Ring, ahaha. I wonder if I will get an ability like the one in this story or will it be something else?"
So far she had neither unlocked her Innate Ability or her Astral Ring ability yet and now that she knew more about them she really wanted them to come as soon as possible herself so she could use them.
