Chapter 80: Scarlet Rejection
"XUECAO!"
Asuro shouted with all his might and XueCao then revealed himself standing at the top of the front gate's column.
"My lord. This woman is an intruder. She's a half-immortal sent here to kill you."
"Enough with the lies! I sense the presence of the third scroll the moment she set afoot here. The scroll awakened me and with my own two eyes I saw her open it and ward off the Wave of the Nether."
"It's preposterous your highness. How could a mere half-immortal open such—"
"Shut your filthy mouth. The moment you tried to harm my daughter, you already defiled me."
"Is … That… So?"
A smile curved up XueCao's mouth. Slowly, he reached for the daggers hidden behind him. Asuro noticed him and immediately conjured a spell without XueCao noticing it.
"You should listen to this subordinate master."
"I'd rather listen to my heart rather than following a path that leads to nowhere."
XueCao reverted into a shade and tried to attack BeiYin whose behind Asuro. The attack was fast that Asuro could not see it coming. The dagger slid fast and would almost hit BeiYin. BeiYin closed her eyes awaiting for the dagger to hit her but suprisingly, an invisible shield was put up by RuoMin who was standing steps away from her.
XueCao clenched his teeth and retorted back. Asuro threw a shot of his spell conjuring a dark flame that formed into swarms of cicada. The attack would almost hit XueCao but suddenly, it was repelled by tiny hints of flames. QiuShan Li approached the cicadas and opened a scroll from his hand emitting tiny embers of flames that warded off the cicadas.
Asuro saw the scroll on General Li's hand and recognized it immediately.
"How did you manage to get the second scroll?"
"Do I have to answer that master?"
"I demand you to answer me!"
"It's easy. I'll confess if you beat me on hand to hand combat. If not, then I'll never tell you anything."
"Alright. It's settled."
"Hold your horses master Asuro, before our fight starts, I want you to disable your spell prowess in order for you not to cheat your way on winning against me."
"I am a man of my word. Fine, if you want me to disable it. I will."
Using his sharp claws, Asuro slit a cut on his other hand to use his blood on drawing a warding talisman on his body disabling his spell prowess yet, RuoMin ran up to him and shook her head.
"You'll lose Asuro… I know you lived milleniums of your life cultivating by using spell prowess. If you want… I will battle him instead of you. My combat strategies in martial arts is much stronger than yours."
"But RuoMin… He's a man. As a woman, you need to be protected by a man like me."
"Even so, a woman could not stand by watching a man without having skills protecting her. You saw the powerful physical attack he gave by assassinating BeiYin right? Your attacks aren't timely in dealing with a person like him."
"I agree with you. If you insist, I won't get in your way."

RuoMin took droplets of blood from Asuro and drew the warding talisman on her left arm. The warding talisman then took effect disabling all divine prowess that RuoMin hold. But, even so… Her ability of clairvoyance is still active.
'I don't get it. Why isn't my clairvoyance disabled like my other spell prowess?'
A devious smile formed on XueCao's lips seeing that the one that he's going to fight was RuoMin.
"I've never fought a woman before. I promise I'll be gentle."
"Don't say that XueCao. You'll regret saying that after you taste defeat especially in the hands of a woman."
"Hearing you say that makes me excited."

"Your highness! Someone came here to see you."
YingLuo yelled as she came in the throne room where Wei Yue was sitting busily reading a book in his hand.
"Who is it?"
"She goes by the name of Gu XiNiang the old Sect Leader of Shifting Flower Sect."
"Shifting Flower Sect!?"
Gu XiNiang then came in inside the throne room wearing a white robe with matching white veiled hat cover her face.
YingLuo was confused. All women in Old Jianghu never wanted to wear such secretive clothing. Wei Yue wasn't surprised at all. Shifting Flower Sect is well-known in Old Jianghu for their excellence in martial arts and secretive style of clothing.
"Gu XiNiang pays respects to his majesty, Wei Yue of the kingdom of Jade Phoenix."
"Arise XiNiang. Is there something urgent?"
"Yes your majesty. I wanted to came here a week ago but something came up on my sect now here I am… I have figured out something about the Cicadas."
"The Cicadas? I've confirmed it from MoXiao. It's General Qiushan Li who conjured them."
"The truth isn't what it seems. Forgive me your highness but we've been blind all along."

"I am an Emei Disciple and I have achieved the highest rank being an acolyte. The technique wasn't taught to us. I'm sure that I can prove yo you that we're all innocent."
"Is that so? How about I show you this?"
XiNiang then clapped her hands and two of her disciples came inside bringing a large box with them. XiNiang opened the box and YingLuo gasped as she saw Emei's school treasure corrupted with dark layers of cicadas.
"T—This."
"I know that this is Emei's school treasure being corrupted with the cicadas."
"Yes but I do not know how it became like that."
"You said that you are an Emei disciple with the highest rank achieved. Surely, you can accompany me to Emei and talk with the Grandmaster can you?"
"Yes and I will prove you wrong."
"Your highness Wei… I will bring this disciple—"
"The name's YingLuo, b*tch."
"YingLuo… I will bring YingLuo back to Emei."
Wei Yue nodded in response and then said…
"YingLuo is pregnant. If ever peril will come, she could not defend herself properly. I suggest that you bring General Hua along."

XueCao held his chest as he spit blood. He did not see it coming. The blow on his chest and lower body part was decisive. RuoMin wasn't the opponent that he had expected.
"H—How did you have such agility? You're a woman."
"The problem with men nowadays is that they are underestimating us women too much."
Asuro clapped his hands that marked the end of the match. RuoMin and XueCao bowed themselves and uphold their conditions.
Asuro gained the privilege of questioning XueCao with as far as he know.
"Tell me, who gave you the second scroll?"
"An elder of the high immortals. She told me to keep in check with you and prevent BeiYin from wiping out the Wave of the Nether."
"How could a high immortal allow the Wave of the Nether to sweep everything away? Does she know that the Wave can sweep the mortal realm too?"
"Yes she already knew. But… She wouldn't listen."
"I've heard enough. Now… Who sent you to revive me and plan the wave?"
"I—I shouldn't tell you."
Asuro's eyebrows met and angrily grabbed XueCao's neck.
"Tell me… Who sent you to do that?"
"Its… Its…. *choke* It's Wan.. *choke* Wan…"
"Wan?"
"*choke* Wan *choke* Mian *choke* Su *choke* "
Asuro let go of XueCao with his eyes wide open and his hands shaking. He never felt terrified before hearing Wan MianSu's name once again.
He remembered then before… Wan MianSu confessed her love to him wholeheartedly but he turned her down because he have no feelings for her.
He angrily clenched his hand and with an ironclad fist, punched the rock beside XueCao.
'Wan MianSu… You will pay for this!'
