Chapter 37: Chapter 36: Defy all odds
Series of lightning flashed across the lands of Old Jianghu. Just across the fields of the Jade Phoenix's kingdom, a lightning bolt struck the ground. After a while, a man walked unscathed out of the area holding a pole axe in his hand.
The farmers that cultivated their yields suddenly ran and panicked but the man jumped upward and with a mighty swing of his weapon, cut the ground preventing the farmers from leaving the area.
He emerged from the darkness and approached himself to the terrified farmers.
"Guan Yu is back!"
The farmers looked at him clueless about what he's saying.
Some farmers were like... 'Guan Yu, who?' , 'Guan Yu? Not sure about that name...', 'Never heard about Guan Yu.'
"Could you all please... STOP TALKING?!"
"Please sir, we don't know you at all."
"I am Guan Yu, High Warlord of the Ninth Heaven!"
The farmers just stood there even more befuddled.
Guan Yu liked to smack his face but he stroked his beard instead.
"Alright. I am JiuTian XuanWu's royal guard."
"Ah, her highness XuanWu... I've heard so much about her."
"Yes, and she has this wonderful golden spear."
"Yeah and she's a Goddess worth reckoning."
The farmers buzzled all over making Guan Yu's blood boil up to his head.
"SHUT UP!!! Now, tell me exactly where am I."
"Uh, you're in Emperor Wei Yue's lands. The Jade Phoenix kingdom?"
"Oh... If I smash you on the ground, would you die?"
The farmers huddled on each other. Guan Yu laughed loudly. He now knows that he's in the mortal realm.
'I'm going to stop this stupidity XuanWu. You're going to die along with your children.'
He saw a horse from nearby and summoned it. The horse turned into a large horned lion. Guan Yu is capable of morphing things to his desired shape. He wasn't called the High Warlord of Ninth Heaven for nothing. His abilities on war and strategy are unsurpassed.
The lion released a roar as he rode on it's back headed for the Jade Phoenix's kingdom leaving traces of embers along it's way.

Meanwhile, XuanWu and the others rejoiced at the banquet held for Li An and Zhang Xiaoxing's wedding. She happily clapped and saw her children laugh and dance along with other mortals. Their laughter and happiness filled the whole banquet. Xian Hua caught XuanWu's attention and followed him into the outer hall.
"I see you're those sibling's mother. You raised them well."
"Yes. I am their mother but I did not raise them."
"Why so?"
"After the great war, an odd was imposed towards the mortals and the immortals from ninth heaven and that is, mortals are prevented to connive with immortals and immortals are prevented to descend to the human realm."
"I see..."
"You General Hua are one honorable man. I saw you save my daughter many times from the ninth heaven and even though you're sometimes stubborn and over astute, you acknowledge your heart first before your mind, and that's the right thing to do."
Feixian blushed like a newly riped tomato. XuanWu's honorifics did sway him like a leaf that's been carried by the wind. XuanWu smiled in response to his gestures. He thought that maybe it's improper for him to act like this in front of a high and respected Goddess so, he averted his eyesight to avoid being intimidated by her presence.
"General Hua, you love my daughter very much do you?"
"Uh... Yes..."
"If I'll pass away and be reborn again, please take care of my memory with her and pray always that I'll remember every single bit of moment that I'm with her in my past life."
"Of course. As you wish my Goddess."
XuanWu nodded her head and headed back to the banquet. There, she rejoined Yingluo and Moxiao happily chatting and drinking liquor. A smile flashed on Feixian's lips. He never felt this happy. Goddess XuanWu gives a vibe different from any other person. She was truly a kind Goddess.
A few moments, Feixian was smiling like crazy, not until...
*BAM*
The Kingdom's wall shook with the tremors of the earth. A large fireball hit the front gate however, it wasn't strong enough to undo the enchantment placed on the outer wall of the kingdom.
"What was it?!" Feixian ran up to Moxiao.
"It's Guan Yu. The High Warlord of the Ninth Heaven. He came to collect me and take me back to the ninth heaven. I know that they'll do the same thing that they did to my sister. They'll take me to the ninth heaven and accuse me of treason." Xuan Wu spoke.
Moxiao clenched his teeth.
"Mother, you should stay here with sister. It's my time to handle this."
XuanWu nodded in agreement and gave Moxiao a golden pendant.
"If you must fight Guan Yu, then put this on."
Moxiao put on the golden flower-devouring dragon pendant and a bright light issued from his whole body. His robes transformed from green jade into a golden linen with dragons embroidered side by side. Moxiao's daggers levitated on air and petals of plums surrounded it glowing brightly with every spin it takes. The daggers collided into one and became a blade with a mark of flower-devouring dragon.
Moxiao swished the obsidian-gold sword and gave a cold eye to the entrance of the kingdom. The barrier broke and a man riding a humongous lion emerged from outside the gate. The lion stepped forth and roared fiercely. The civilians cleared away from the outer part of the kingdom commanded by Wei Yue. They all ran up to the palace since the barrier enchantment is stronger there.
"BRING ME JIUTIAN XUANWU AND HER CHILDREN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET HURT." Guan Yu shouted loud and clear. The pitiful civilians could't help but just tear their eyes by the sight of the fearful Guan Yu.
Then suddenly, all of the fears of the civilians dissipated. A golden light shone from their back. They all cleared a path for the golden warrior who wields the flower-devouring dragon blade on his hand.
"Ah finally, a worthy opponent." Guan Yu jumped out from his lion and faced forth the golden warrior.
The warrior stepped out from the palace's enchantment barrier being fearless. His eyes never showed any signs of fear and anxiety making Guan Yu more excited than ever. In his life being a high warlord, he never encountered any God or mortal that dares to subdue him.
'This mortal maybe bluffing. How dare he march in front of me?'
Guan Yu pointed his poleaxe to the warrior and let off harsh words.
'This might tickle him a bit.'
"Warrior. I can see in your aura that you are wielding a divine weapon. Do you dare to kill a God and take the punishment for it?"
"If it will make mortals live in peace, I will take my sword and slay all of you Gods who trample upon as if we're fleeting flowers."
"Oh, your words sound like you're not bluffing. Don't you know how many necks of monsters I have cut with my divine weapon?"
"I don't care. You talk too much. Are you afraid to lose?"
Guan Yu gnashed his teeth in anger. Blood shot up to his head. He grabbed the poleaxe and after a while, they are locked in battle.
Moxiao fearlessly swayed his blade like it was nothing. His attacks almost hits Guan Yu however, Guan Yu maneuvered his body below his blade only cutting a small portion of his hair. He raised his poleaxe making Xiao Na retaliate by stomping his foot on the ground and raising his altitude in the air. He then landed perfectly on the ground away from Guan Yu but never stopped wielding his sword in battle position.
"You're one good sword wielder boy. But your skills aren't enough to defeat a god like me."
"Alright. You want a fair battle? I'll give you one."
Moxiao stuck his sword on the ground and it transformed into a golden pol axe. The axe blade of the poleaxe shone in obsidian color with a coiling dragon and a flower. Guan Yu has never been intimidated like this before. Before he could speak another word, Moxiao picked up the poleaxe and charged at Guan Yu.
Guan Yu took the hit by putting his poleaxe in defensive position. A crack from his poleaxe visibly shows. He felt like his pride was torn right off after what he had witnessed. Guan Yu fall back and looked at his cracked poleaxe.
"If I'm not mistaken, you wield the flower devouring dragon's power."
"So what?"
"You're not a full pledged God, how dare you possess such weapon and strength?"
"By determination, I guess."
"Let's stop this silly chit-chat."
Guan Yu charged once again head on pointing his weapon directly at Xiao Na. This time, Moxiao took a step back and prepared to slam the tip of his weapon to Guan Yu's.
"For my family, friends, and Old Jianghu!"
The impact of the hit gave off a strong shock wave which sent a zephyr to all Old Jianghu. A large crater was dugged out at their place of fighting. Guan Yu stared at his weapon...
"Impossible! I will kill you, mortal!"
