Chapter update 2/3

————————————————

All through the night Xian Hua stayed beside Luo Na. He wasn't aware about what happened last night but Xiao Na's face revealed it all. He didn't know how to keep her safe.

He's strong

He's powerful

Yet he couldn't jump in and save her from drowning.

Xian Hua was lost in his thoughts when he felt Luo Na move a bit. Xian Hua stayed put even if his arms were numbed after Luo Na nestled at it all night in order for him not to wake her up.

After a while, Luo Na opened her eyes. Xian Hua kissed her on the forehead and greeted her.

"Good morning, how was your sleep?"

Luo Na's eyes grew wide and immediately tried to stand up but her head hurts like crazy. She felt arrows on her head and held it with her right hand.

Xian Hua was very alarmed so he stood up and got Luo Na some water and medicine from the bedside table.

"Here, drink this."

Luo Na received the medicine and a glass of water and gestured... 'Thank you' at Xian Hua.

Xian Hua couldn't help but wonder what truly happened last night. He knows deep in his heart that he should respect Luo Na without meddling on her family affairs however, it pains him to see her in a pitiful state because of it.

"Luo Na... Could you tell me what happened last night?"

"It was nothing Xian Hua. Don't worry about it."

'Liar.'

Xian Hua couldn't hold his anger and before long, he topped himself at Luo Na and stared long at her beautiful face.

Luo Na turned red peppers and averted her eyes away quickly.

Xian Hua saw pain and anguish in her eyes but Luo Na acted fast not to show him despair and weakness.

"I know you're lying Luo Na... I can tell by your eyes. Tell me the truth. What did you saw in your vision and what was that scroll?"

Luo Na shook her head and pretended that she was really fine. She tried to coerce and persuade him that she was really fine and there was nothing to worry about however, Xian Hua wasn't convinced enough.

"Fine... If you won't tell... I will really find out."

Xian Hua's hands traced her skin from top to bottom until it reached her breasts. He started to knead it through and through that made Luo Na moan.

"General Hua... You're mean... Ahh... Stop... Stoppp... Alright I will tell... I will tell everything!"

Xian Hua stopped kissing her neck. He saw tears started to form at the corner of her eyes. He felt like he was splashed by cold water seeing that he made his woman cry.

'I'm no different from vile antagonists am I?'

He questioned himself and turned back at Luo Na who was already helping herself put on her almost-wored out robe.

'I'm such an idiot for forcing such malicious actions at her.'

He repeatedly cursed himself internally. His mind nor his heart couldn't take it anymore so he decided to leave her.

He got up from the bed and was about to leave when he felt a warm embrace coming from his back. Two slender hands wrapped itself on his waist. Luo Na was now crying intensely.

"Please stay... Don't leave me."

"Stay and hurt you? I don't want to hurt you Luo Na..."

"I'm not afraid being hurt. I'm not afraid if we burn together... I'm more afraid of losing you forever."

She wrapped her hands around him. Xian Hua couldn't help but swallow large gulps of saliva. Tears were falling from his eyes. After a while, he turned back and faced Luo Na. His head buried on her shoulder while his arms were wrapped all around her.

Few moans and screams escaped the closed room. It wasn't very noise proof at all...

"Are the preparations complete?" XuanZheng said with a sinister grin on her face.

"Almost complete, Mistress... Tonight we will disperse the pestilence and envelop a town in Old Jianghu."

"Heh. Make sure you cover Old Jianghu with all of the pestilence. That Immortal and his imbeciles will show up in no time."

"Yes, Mistress!"

A dark shroud of rain formed upward the town of Suzhou. The townsfolk was mysteriously shocked by it. Tiny little droplets of rain fell however, the water that has been emitted by it tasted different and looked different. It was black and had putrid smell. The townsfolk wasn't suprised so they let the matter pass by...

'JiuTian XuanWu, you taught your children benevolence so they will definitely show up and when they do, I will never spare even a single drop of blood from their body...'

XuanZheng's bloodlust gave a cold and berserked look on her face that made her lowly monster subordinates shook in fear.

The next morning, Wei Yue and his companions bade goodbye to the Island of the Seven Immortals. They must go back to Old Jianghu since Wei Yue had perceived a strange magic that had been disturbing him last night. He wanted to confirm his theory so he gathered his friends and asked them if they would want to go back to Old Jianghu.

"Friends... You all know that the power of the jade phoenix resides in me and that my power could detect any sort of spell that has been cast upon the land of Old Jianghu...

Last night, my wand glowed brightly and after a few moments showed me a vision. A woman who had black hair, dark circles on her eyes, pale face, red lips and two large black wings soared upon the heavens of Old Jianghu and showered a massive rain.

I do not know what that rain is and the vision disappeared after a bit so I beg you, let's return to Old Jianghu and find this woman."

Wei Yue's words almost knocked Luo Na dead. She felt a nail had pierced in her heart when she heard Wei Yue described the woman.

'If I weren't wrong... She's XuanZheng.'

"I doubt Luo Na is in a good condition to go back to Old Jianghu yet... Let me come instead."

Xian Hua immediately vetoed the idea about coming back to old Jianghu with Luo Na and Xiao Na. But Luo Na insisted and squeezed Xian Hua's arm.

'I can handle this.' She gestured to Xian Hua. He couldn't defy what his woman wants so he decided to stand down.

"Today, I will tell you the truth who that woman was. She's my aunt. The twin goddess that was the sister of my mother. Her bloodlust had reached it's maxim and it seems like she needs to be taken down. For what she did to the people of Old Jianghu, she will pay for it... For what she did to my family... She will die for it."

Luo Na's words were full of courage her eyes were blazing like a wildfire. Xiao Na suddenly found strength inside him after what Luo Na said. He wasn't scared anymore.

Li An, Zhang Xiaoxing and the others saluted to her. Everyone in the room was present except...

Zhao Min...

After they departed on the ship the journey lasted for many hours until it was afternoon when they had arrived at the pier of Tai Feng.

Zhao Min got out of the ship fast and excused herself because she had matters to attend to at the town of Xiu Qi.

"Come back after you're done. We'll be at the town of Suzhou."

Luo Na gave her a jade necklace. Zhao Min nodded and acted nice and innocent in front of Luo Na.

————————————————

The town looks like it was deserted. However, it was not. People were just careful locking themselves indoors.

'This town wasn't like this before when we passed by it.'

Luo Na did not understand the reason why but the town was very lively before. She wandered astray from Xian Hua and found herself walking at a nearby cemetery. She got courage to approach near the entrance of the cemetery but, a grave caretaker took her by the arm and led her away from the cemetery as far as possible.

"I will cover your mouth and nose if I were you." The caretaker said.

Luo Na immediately noticed that the old caretaker wore a handkerchief in his mouth and nose. She stared long at the faraway mass grave and saw many dead bodies rotting in flesh rapidly.

She took a few steps back and suddenly found Xian Hua and the others standing by her back.

"What on earth?" Xian Hua saw the pile of dead bodies of children, women, and men all mixed in a mass grave. He couldn't help but puke.

"What happened her, Uncle?" Wei Yue spoke to the man.

"Last night, something bizarre happened. A strange rain fell on our town. It wasn't an ordinary rain. The rainwater was colored black and it smells putrid. Many people didn't mind it at all so they continued to walk and then... This happened."

Wei Yue averted his eyes on the mass grave. It was too 'pitiful' for him to watch.

Li An couldn't bear the sight of the dead bodies and clung herself into Zhang Xiaoxing's arms.

Elaa was shunned. It was the first time that she saw many dead bodies before, taking incense from her satchel, she lighted it and knelt facing the dead people. She stuck the incense on the ground and prayed for their souls.

They were all shocked about what happened to the town when, they heard a woman scream for help.

"Help. Please. Help my child. She is dying. Please just help her even if you'll never help me. Please let her live."

The woman almost spew blood due to the effect of the pestilence. Her right leg was almost rotting. She couldn't walk well but she carried her daughter all the way.

"Who would help you Old Changyun? You're one big slanderer of this town! That serves you right!"

Luo Na couldn't believe her ears. The child was dying yet he still curses her and her child to die?

'This is unreasonable.'

"Take the child, Xian Hua. Let's perform an exorcism." Luo Na hastened. There is no time to waste. This town is already crumbling into ashes. Do they have to wait until all of Old Jianghu were succumbed into XuanZheng's mercy?

'No.'

She led them all inside an empty restaurant that was abandoned after the pestilence attacked.

Xian Hua laid the little child on a white linen on a table.

Luo Na spoke an ancient language and her appearance changed along with it. She folded her hands and chanted a powerful mantra which caused a massive explosion of golden aura all around the town.

————————————————

XuanZheng glared at the golden aura from far away...

'They're here.'

An ominous smile curved up from her lips.
