Chapter 126: A PROMISE
AIKKA'S POV
Naging calm na ang lahat. No dramas. No crying. Serious mode lang ang lahat since Spade was asking me how he got his transplant?
(So I've got this flashback...)
"may tawag po sa inyo ma'am" iniabot sa akin ni Kuya Edmundo ang phone.
"hello" I answered.
Nasa hospital bed pa ako and still on recovery. But my doctor said na bukas, pwede na daw akong umuwi sa mansion.
"hey, its me Jenna"
When I heard her voice, nakaramdam agad ako ng inis that time.
"what do you need from me?" I asked.
"well, I know na we're not in good terms so.....yeah, I just wanted to say sorry." she said.
Sorry?
Ang dali lang niyang bitawan ang salitang iyon.
"tss. its too late Jenna. Marami ka nang nasaktan."
"w_well, I don't expect rin naman na mapapatawad mo ako eh. But.....I really need your help"
"help? (I laughed) now, after everything, you're asking help from me?"
"yes. and I need you to meet me here. You know where I am. Its about my brother" then binaba na niya ang phone.
Kahit kailan talaga, wala siyang manners.
"who was that sweetie?" dad asked.
"uh...just that crazy sister of Spade" I said.
"why did she call? and paano siya nakatawag?" mom asked.
"it doesn't matter mom. I just wanted to sleep"
Then, I tried to relax my mind from everything but I can't. Hindi talaga ako makatulog. Then naisip ko bigla si Spade.
And napaisip din ako sa sinabi ni Jenna...about her brother huh?
So nagpasama ako kay Kuya Edmundo, para puntahan si Jenna sa kulungan.
"you're here." she said while smiling.
"stop smiling. I don't want to see you smile" I said frankly.
"well, don't worry...it will be the last time that you will be seeing me smile" tapos ipinatong niya ang kanyang mga paa sa table. We're in a room kasi kung saan pwede ko siyang makausap. Yung kaming dalawa lang.
Look how brat she is. And I'm really pissed off right now.
"by the way, I've got a good news for you. Brent is dead! He didn't make it to the hospital" she said.
"crazy" I mumbled.
Then she laughed.
"Yeah, ilang ulit mo na iyang sinabi sa akin. No need to emphasize it. But anyway, thank you for coming." she said.
"just go straight to the point, I have no time for chit chats right now Jenna, ano bang kailangan mo sa akin ngayon?" I said.
"okay? I'm asking you a favor. Just this once...you know, I hate it but I really need_"
Tss. So parang ako pa ang may utang na loob sa kanya?
"ganyan ka naman di ba? mahilig kang manggamit ng tao for your own pleasure! even if marami kang nasasaktan" hindi ko na napigilan pa.
So when I said it, napatigil siya saglit.
Then she sighed.
"I know na malaki ang naging kasalanan ko sa iyo. And I know na mahirap ang magpatawad...but I'm begging you this time, and hindi ito para sa akin...para ito kay Spade."
Kahit ano pang sabihin niya, to be honest? Hindi pa rin talaga mawala-wala ang galit ko sa kanya. For what she did to my friends? to Nathan? and to me?
"You're right, mahirap magpatawad Jenna. After what you did to us...mahirap talagang gawin iyon" I said.
"that's why, I'm doing this Aikka. I'm needing your help to save my brother. Malubha na ang sakit niya sa puso and any moments from now, pwede siyang mamatay. He deserves to live rather than me Aikka, so just promise me na hindi mo siya hahayaang mawala. I will be donating my heart for him."
Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya. Everything that I heard ... I was so shocked.
"are you serious about it?"
"hindi mo lang alam kung anong ginawa ko para lang matawagan ka for this (showing her bruises) so definitely, I'm so serious about this Aikka."
Shocks. All I wanted was for her to be imprisoned because of what she did but I never wanted her to just give up her life.
And about sa sakit ni Spade...why didn't he told me na malala na pala ito?
"You know...my brother loved you so much...and he will do everything for you. I know na, gusto ka pa niyang makasama..but he's living his life na punung-puno ng guilt sa kanyang puso. I know na it was my fault, kasi I let him live like that. Dinamay ko siya sa mga hatreds ko sa iyo. And I know na I cannot change those things so, I'm doing this for him. So sana, you'll help me this time" then she stood up at tumalikod na.
"I will wait for your "go signal", alam kong hindi mo matitiis si Spade, and please make sure na you will choose the best doctor for his heart transplant." then she started to walk.
Pinagmasdan ko na lang siya na papalabas na ng room na iyon when she suddenly stopped.
"by the way, just be honest with your feelings...alam kong mahal mo pa rin si Nathan. And..... again, I'm sorry for ruining your love story." tapos nagpatuloy na siya sa kanyang paglalakad hanggang sa makaalis na siya't ang saradong pinto na lang ng room ang natatanaw ko.
(sighed)
Now, hindi ko maintindihan ang emotions ko.
AND..
If there is this one thing that I can do for her right now?
Is to forgive her kahit mahirap.
"I forgive you Jenna" mahinang sabi ko before leaving that place.
(end of flashback)
"did_ did she say something for me?" Spade asked after kong maikwento sa kanya ang lahat ng pangyayari before ng operation.
"wala, but she left a letter for you" then kinuha ko iyon sa aking bag at ibinigay sa kanya.
I don't know, what's in the letter..but after he read it, he just burst into tears.
I know na importante sa kanya si Jenna. Simula ng bata pa sila, magkasama na sila sa lahat. And they've experienced a lot of things together kaya hindi madali for Spade ang tanggapin ang pagkwala ni Jenna.
But she will be remembered.
Her name will always be remembered.
Not her mistakes.
Not her flaws.
But for giving her heart to her brother.
And I know na ang gusto niya ngayon is mabuhay si Spade ng masaya. So, I do hope na everything will be alright from this time.
