Chapter 27: Tensions Rise
Jack's boiling anger made Sera very uncomfortable and she was frantically thinking about her next move. Why did she have to bring up Lucien? Well to be honest she had no clue that his name would have such an effect on Jack. "It was really n-nothing. He just cast a spell on my friends and I got coffee spilled on me and I was embarrassed." She quickly said hoping that the subject would be dropped. Seeing the glint in Jack's eyes Sera knew that this wouldn't be easily dropped or changed. "He knows better than to do magic around non-witches. I need to go have a talk with my little brother." Jacks growled under his breath, but Sera managed to hear it.
As he was turning to leave she grabbed his arm and gave him a pleading look. Hopefully the look will be enough to deter him from leaving to confront Lucien. If he were to talk with Lucien, what will Lucien say? 'She was being a slut so I made her feel bad about it' Seraphina's imagination was going wild in that instant thinking of all of the outcomes of their meeting.
Jack looked down at her with fire burning behind his eyes and she could sense another scary side to him. In this moment he seemed fierce and barbaric. She could feel the anger around him and it felt like an inferno. Shit. 'Looks like I made things worse and Jack isn't even listening, just reacting.' " Please leave him be now isn't the time to confront him about anything that happened before or after the spill." The glint changed and he came back to a somewhat normal demeanor. " What else happened? I swear there's something not being said." Jack appeared to be calming down, but how long will that last?
Sera felt even more uneasy, but didn't know what to do next, so she just stood there awkwardly. This was a side to Jack that she didn't know existed and it was slightly frightening. She definitely shouldn't tell him about the intimate scenes she shared with Lucien or even the fact that he saw her in bras. "Really it was nothing. He just came with us to buy some clothes and then he left, but he seemed annoyed so you should probably leave him be."
Hearing this only made Jack want to go and annoy his brother more, than having to listen about the quality time she was spending with his rival. He strode to the house with the intent to cause trouble and wreak havoc. Stepping into the door, his aura announced his presence before his body. Those around would feel it as icy daggers when it would come close to them.
Lucien was lounging on the couch reading a book on teaching witchcraft, when he suddenly felt the ice daggers were coming. 'Oh great what got his panties in a bind' Lucien thought as he was putting don his book. He then straightened to a seated position and sat there to wait for Jacks appearance. Foot steps could be heard from the kitchen area and were gradually getting closer.
"Lucien! We need to talk!" Jacks voice echoed throughout the rooms in the house. He sounded pretty angry and it made Lucien wonder what it was about. Rolling his eyes he stood up and started walking toward the voice. "I'm here, Jack." He said while standing in the doorway of the living
room. After feeling Jack's aura enter the house he had a feeling it had something to do with Seraphina and was mentally preparing for it. Does jack have a crush on the little miss? Lucien got a cocky smile on his face thinking about that possibility. Little does he know of the interaction between them earlier. The love magic that naturally happened between them showed that they were meant to be together. When moments like that happened it meant that their energies were on par with one another's. Not all couples can achieve that level of intimacy, yet they did it effortlessly and it was amazing.
Lucien had never felt anything like that and it excited, but also scared him. They had been engaged, but he wanted to win her heart naturally. The downside it seemed was that he was falling for her at a fast rate. His plans were to use her for her natural power, but if he loves her would he be able to follow through with his plans?
This question stayed hanging in his mind when Jack appeared before him, giving off the angered feel. "Did I do something?" Lucien said with his eyebrows raised. Jack just stared at him and didn't know what to say. He knew his brother could read minds, but he had learned how to create an impenetrable wall for his thoughts.
The look on Lucien's face said that he was deep in thought and wasn't really paying attention. Jack decided to clear his throat in an attempt to bring Lucien back to reality. Lucien's eyes came back into focus and Jack could tell he was present. "You did spells on Seraphina and her friends!" Jack boomed at Lucien.
