Chapter 6: Pre-party
*Ring. Ring. Ring*
Lucien was patiently waiting while the other end of the line was ringing. Lucien hoped his dad wouldn't pick up so he could lie and go on with his own agenda, but he knew his dad would have some issues with his plan. "What do you need? I'm quite busy," Wes impatiently answered his phone. Lucien gulped cause his dads annoyed tone intimidated him a lot. He wasn't afraid of anyone, except his father, he had seen his father kill before and wasn't trying to get on the kill list himself. "I have a situation at the Brooks' house. Seems that my fiancé has no idea about anything other than the non magical world. I want to train her and I would need a grant of absence from my duties."
There was a long pause before Wes spoke. "....I don't have time myself to do it and it seems it would be best handled by you. What concerns me is my second in command would shelter his own daughter so much. I've never questioned his judgement until this moment." What was there to say as he had spoken all truth and there was only agreeing with the patriarch. Wes continued, "I'll grant the leave and will notify your superiors. Ok we are done." He then hung up before anymore things could be said.
Elated Lucien went back into the house to share the news.

Meanwhile, in Seraphina's room, Hannah and Sera were looking at her clothes. "So, you're finally going to attend a party of your parents all cause some hottie wants you there!?!" Hannah squealed her question out. You could always tell Hannah's emotions by her facial expressions and she was genuinely excited for her friend. "Well l, I'm not Izzy , but I feel you should show off your body for once. Let me text her and she will bring over appropriate clothes. 'Oh.em.Gee!!!!!! She is finally going to a swanky soirée bring the kit!' Hannah quickly texted before sera could look it over. It also seemed by her text that her friends had been secretly planning a makeover like in the movies. Not even fifteen minutes went and there was another squealing girl bouncing on Sera's bed. After many costume changes an outfit was chosen. It was a sleek, black, and backless mini dress. Since it was form fitting it greatly showed off her assets and it made her appear more sophisticated.
They decided to have her curly tendrils half up half down and wild as it made the dress appear more sexy. "H, Are you sure l?" Sera quietly asked as she didn't feel in her element. "Trust me." Hannah smiled with a thumbs up and a wink. According to the girls her parents threw the best parties as they had attended a few, but they were random small parties and not the big holiday event ones. "Oh by the way who is that hunk talking to your dad?" Izzy quizzed. Of course Izzy saw him cause it seemed she had an attractive guy radar built in.

Hearing loud squeals from upstairs the men looked up and rolled their eyes. "Why haven't these squeals caused death? Oh my god it's horrendous!" Lucien plugged his ears with his fingers and grimaced. The sounds the young women were making didn't sound natural and it scared him more than his father scared him. 'Are all human women this annoying?' He wondered. "Don't worry, they're usually only excited like this when it involves men and how attracted they are to the men," Dimitri laughed and slapped Lucien on the back. "I believe we discussed all business matters, do you need to freshen up before the gathering?" He looked at Lucien with a hopeful look. What he was hopeful of was another story. What did he have in mind exactly? There was no telling since Dimitri was fairly secretive and after finding out about his daughter, Lucien understood why.
His daughter's lack of magical knowledge was embarrassing and Dimitri was willingly withholding the information. If someone knew of this they could take Sera and teach her black magic instead of white. White was what it sounded like: pure, light, and positive. While black was unnatural, negative, and dark. Most witches preferred white as the karma was three fold (meaning it comes back to the caster three times). Black magic ended up dirtier as the karma was seven fold and usually involved a sacrifice of some kind. Is this what Lucien had in mind? Or was it the former?
