Zang Ba Arrives
Dian Wei entered the room with Guan Yu when Yun asks Dian Wei to take the cuffs off of Guan Yu knowing that Guan Yu wouldn't become a problem.
"Why have you called me here?" asks Guan Yu as he was rubbing his wrists to get the numb feeling out of them.
"I have received a message that you won't like to read but it is still the truth about your older brother," says Yun holding the report he received from Lu Bu.
He handed it over to Guan Yu who didn't want to look at it at first before Yun says, "You can lie to yourself all you want but that won't change what the chronicles will write about your older brother."
"And what would that be?" asks Guan Yu with sarcasm in his voice.
"A coward that fled for his life leaving his wives behind rather than making a last stand to defend his people. He would have gained quite a reputation if he stayed behind and died defending his city and people but he didn't," says Yun furiously as he sat down on his chair.
"I might have even given Liu Bei some respect if he defended his city and failed at it but at least he fought until the end. But now he fled north which means that he will be joining Yuan Shao to save his skin for what he did," says Yun seriously while glaring at Guan Yu who began to read the report that Lu Bu sent.
Guan Yu didn't want to believe in what was written on the piece of paper but he also knows that Yun never lies when he says something since all his men were still breathing compared to other people in Yun's position who would have killed them so no rebellion could form against them.
"What do you want from me?" asks Guan Yu knowing that Yun wanted something from him.
"I want you to join my army until we meet Liu Bei again. I will let you leave if that is what you want when that moment arises and I will send his wives back to him once he settled down again," says Yun seriously not wanting innocent women to be targeted by some scheming bastard because Liu Bei left them behind again.
"Is that all?" asks Guan Yu confused since that wasn't much.
"No, one day, I will be standing before you. It might be tomorrow or ten years from now and when that day arrives I will ask you a question and I want that you answer that question with a yes," says Yun sounding mysterious while looking at Guan Yu showing that it mattered to him.
"And what will that question be?" asks Guan Yu bluntly making Yun smirk.
"You will find out once that moment arises not earlier," says Yun smiling as he stands back up and walks toward Guan Yu.
"If everything goes as expected you will meet your brothers on the battlefield sooner than you expect since Cao Cao and Yuan Shao will be fighting against each other pretty soon. If you had stayed still and acted less suspicious Cao Cao would have left you all alone but you had the brilliant idea of taking Xu while he was planning his advance to fight Yuan Shao," says Yun standing before Guan Yu looking down on him since he was bigger by some centimeters.
"It wasn't really our idea but the idea of the Emperor," says Guan Yu making Yun laugh out loud confusing Guan Yu.
"Why are you laughing?" asks Guan Yu furiously thinking that Yun was disrespecting the Royal Family which he was.
"Do you really think that a letter leaves the palace without Cao Cao reading it beforehand? You all must be fools to have fallen for the simplest tactic of the man who will be known as the Anti-Hero in the future," says Yun knowing very well that it must have been Cao Cao that sent it himself so he got a reason to go to war against Liu Bei.
"There might still be people loyal to the current Emperor but nobody of them will move out of fear that Cao Cao kills them for treason. Think about that before you decide to follow the instruction given to you by the Emperor who is only a puppet held by his strings by Cao Cao," says Yun informing Guan Yu about the reality they are living in.
"I am tired," says Guan Yu feeling exhausted and stupid by what Yun just said since it seemed that they fell into Cao Cao's trap when they followed the Emperor's order.
"I will ask one of the soldiers to take you to your room," says Yun since he was done with Guan Yu.
Right now only Dian Wei and his men were in the mansion guaranteeing Yun's and Mulan's security, mostly Mulan's since Yun could defend himself easily against the threats that could arise.
Yun was going over the final reports that Tang Shi and Pang Tong redacted when he looks north out of the window and sees a lot of campfires at least a few hours away.
"It seems that Zang Ba will be arriving tomorrow in the morning," says Yun seeing the camps and getting a bad feeling because he still didn't know Zang Ba's intention toward him.
Zang Ba still hasn't sworn loyalty to Cao Cao which makes him a loose cannon that could hold a grudge against him for threatening him before or really coming to reinforce Yun.
The next day Yun ordered his men to raise their banners from the wall to show that the city belonged to him which means that it belongs to Cao Cao. Zang Ba arrived with his army and saw the black Zhao banners raised on the walls showing who was owning Xiapi.
He rides alone towards the northern gate and says, "I have arrived as you commanded of me!"
"You really did!" says Yun still suspicious of Zang Ba when he says, "Bring your personal escort inside the city and let your men rest at the camp to the south of it with my men."
Zang Ba didn't look happy about it but he couldn't refuse to what Yun ordered him because he would offend Yun. He returned to his army and gave them orders before returning with five men.
The gates opened and they entered the city. They were escorted to the manor where Yun offered them to stay and invited them to lunch
After having their lunch Zang Ba asks, "You have taken Xiapi, but what about the other cities like Guangling and Kaiyang?"
"We will await their response and for Lu Bu to join me here before we march again," says Yun seriously making some wrinkles appear on Zang Ba's forehead because Yun mentioned Lu Bu.
"Will he even work with me after what happened?" asks Zang Ba seriously since he could be running into a trap right now.
"You won't be working with him but with me," says Yun seriously knowing that Lu Bu might kill Zang Ba for not sending reinforcement back when he was still ruler of Xiapi.
"I will make sure that you and Lu Bu won't be fighting. We all don't want that out of nowhere an accident befalls you," says Yun reassuring Zang Ba that he wouldn't be fighting at the same front as Lu Bu.
"Good," says Zang Ba a bit relieved that Yun wasn't placing him and Lu Bu on the same battlefield.
"But you should try to avoid him once he arrives so you both don't get into a fight," says Yun warning Zang Ba so he doesn't get into trouble with Lu Bu.
"I will do so," says Zang Ba making Yun smirk at him.
"Good, then I shall leave you and prepare myself for what is to come," says Yun before leaving the room.
He goes to the room in which Mulan is temporarily using finding her writing a letter while some balls of paper were laying on the ground making him ask, "For who is the letter you are trying so hard to write on?"
Mulan didn't even notice that Yun was in her room when Yun picked one of the pieces of paper she crumbled. He was about to straighten it up when Mulan used her Fire Qi to burn it before Yun could even read it.
Yun was surprised about how good Mulan's control over Qi was since she didn't burn him just the piece of paper in his hands.
"Your control is better than Fang's. It's a waste that you were born a woman but if that was the case you wouldn't have such control since you don't need to prove yourself," says Yun before taking a glimpse from the piece of paper seeing Sun Quan's name in the first line.
'It seems your princess is interested in that Sun Quan brat,' says Ysmrgra finding it funny that the girl was trying to hide her interest in Sun Quan.
'I might kill him in the future if he doesn't make her his first wife,' says Yun to Ysmrgra surprising him a bit.
'Only his first wife? I thought you wanted him to only marry her and no one else,' says Ysmrgra surprised when Yun only sighs.
'I would have loved that but we all know that won't be possible. Now that my wife is away I am pressured by my mother to marry again so Yang grows up with the love of a mother,' says Yun not liking the thought of marrying again while his wife was somewhere out there.
"Dad?" says Mulan waving her hand before Yun's face because he was absent-minded.
"What were you talking about?" asks Yun since he wasn't listening to her.
"I asked if I could send my letter away with a traveling merchant that plans to go to Jianye?" asks Mulan shyly before Yun sighs.
"If you find one in Xiapi, I won't interfere in your little thing with that Sun boy," says Yun making Mulan turn red because Yun found out while he left the room.
He returned to his room and looked at the bed which was only for one person and laid down on it before saying to himself, "I really hope for Sun Quan that he doesn't break her heart or I will be breaking all of his bones before making him an eunuch."
